    Drew: What if the use of Mass Effect fields led to the end of the universe?
    Other writer: Then why would the Reapers give them the technology that literally gave them mass effect fields from the offset?
    Drew: Yeah. No idea. Anyway, I'm off. Bye!
    Writer: Well... Erm... I guess we can dump dark energy into something called the scourge on another galaxy to kinda carry on the idea in the future? 🤷🏿‍♂️

      @roggonval ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And also, why does human DNA is special? It doesn't make any sense the only "trait" humans have is their diversity and you are telling me that asari's that are literally modified by the proteans or krogans that are kinda like the perfect species they aren't as "special" like a human?

    • @wispfire2545
      @wispfire2545 ปีที่แล้ว

      ssssssshit, that does ruin this whole theory, unless there's something even weirder going on even further behind the curtains. No idea what that could be.

    • @dr.chocolates2630
      @dr.chocolates2630 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@roggonval That is not weird at all, some species have more DNA variety and others not so much, besides the fact that there's no much use for that, only to make humans the perfect walking test tubes. One reason why the Reapers found more interesting the humans among other races maybe was because it was way more easy to make husks but nothing more.

    • @roiking2740
      @roiking2740 ปีที่แล้ว

      mate, They gave them the mass relays BECAUSE organic species would just invent them by themselves. by giving them mass relay technology they make sure organic life remains and advance along a technological path the reapers desire. sovereign told it to shepard when he talked to him.
      if the reapers just wiped out at one point an organic civilization would raised and reinvent the mass relay and they may get tech the reapers do not understand. The reaper's can not just keep watching out for organic civilization all the time. the galaxy is to big. this way not only they can keep growing there numbers each cycles but it insure minimum casualties they know more or less how an organic civilization is going to grow and they assimilate unique tech an organic civilization made. this strategy nearly flawless since we know that maybe a few than dozens reapers died during millions of years and there are armadas of them.

    IMO the foal of the Reapers should have been to avert some universe-ending cataclysm, a cataclysm brought by a new technology that the council races are starting to experiment on and that would allow better FTL travel without using the relays. The Reapers created the relays to offer an alternative to this forbidden technology, and as soon as a civilization starts to research on it they come and erase them. The revelation at the end will be that this technology, used to build the crucible, is also the best way to defeat the reapers.

    This is more or less where I thought the games were going. The other possibility I thought was maybe the reapers were using biological life to run studies on dark matter/dark energy. Since they are immortal, they would want to think long term, which may involve trying to prevent entropy. Once they get the data they need, they wipe our the races and start over, under the idea that if they can figure out how to control dark energy, they could prevent entropy.

    I really wish that they explored Dark Energy more in 3, the way it stands it's like proto- biotics more than anything else. They dropped so many hints at there being a greater threat than the Reaper invasion in the first two games that they just dropped in 3. Lots of wasted potential there, but there's hope that they'll play around with the idea in the new game(s).

    MrHulthen covered this a bit a few months back. Reapers harvesting the galaxy was 2 fold, 1 being to stop organics from using dark energy and 2 being that they would store a species collective knowledge in their new reapers to see if they could find a solution to the dark energy problem. The reapers basically weren't evil, but twisted unsung heroes.
    Also IIRC he mentioned a 3rd possible ending where Shepard would somehow broker peace with the reapers, so the galaxy and the reapers could find a solution together without sacrificing humanity. It would have of course revolved around humanity being the key to stopping dark energy.
    The Canon plot we did get of synthetics rebelling against organics is immediately shot down if you made peace between the geth and quarians and also Joker banging EDI

  • @vladboch
    @vladboch 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Ok, I have to make it clear, Drew Karpishin's ideas were very vague and weren't as fleshed out. There was no Crucible in mind back then, it's an ME3 plot device, as well as no Andromeda and certainly no religious ideas behind the plot. I really like the concept of Dark Energy, it makes so much more sense, than synthetics killing organics to prevent them from being killed by other synthetics. I also don't have a problem with human race being essential to resolve the conflict, cause after all we are playing as a human through the entire series. I just thin, BioWare would need to come up with something more than another Deus Ex Machina known as Crucible, that is very convinient. Remember, what the original idea behind the Reapers was, they weren't supposed to be beaten by conventional means.

    • @EndymionTv
      @EndymionTv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I remember Casey Hudson being asked in an interview like way way back before ME3 came out and the interviewer asked if the Reaper’s will be defeated by like a device that turns them off and he’s like no lol okay well that’s what happened

  • @bigJ5489
    @bigJ5489 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't think it has to do with religion. If I remember correctly, Mordin said in 2 (about the plague on Omega maybe) that humans are good test subjects because there are so many unique genetic variants in our dna (such as race, gender, hair/eye color, etc.) but thats just my opinion.

  • @ram64man
    @ram64man 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have a problem with that idea that we were all wiped out by the dark energy, and it’s an area I would have liked to see a return to the sun in question in me4 -5. We know from the catalyst that the harvest was an experiment and solution to a problem of organics and ai, but what is not said is what that problem was we assumed it was the leviathan and every cycles inability to coexist with ai life, Little is made of the reason why humanity reaper is unique a pronto reaper, nor is it explained what the reapers were doing on dark space in between the 50 thousand years , we assumed that the leviathan was the first but what if they were not alone a multitude of races existing at the same time, some organic that past to other systems in the cosmos to a naturally occurring ai life that was made from silicon based . We assumed that the dark energy build up was reaper based but what if it was a first wave from one of the oldest races returning, it’s star gate /mass relay if you will. The reaper said we are millions others older and that humanity was ants in comparison, there has to be other races that were not harvested, this could explain why th3 collectors were I still actively looking in the omega 4 relay and why there were new prothean husks not just copies (as copies genetic should have started to break down being just clones as time went on there’s a lot of cycles in 50 thousand years as Javick said by his time the prothean empire had fragmented and lost touch with each over , there still could be prothean as well as older races such as the enosamon still out there with different motives or ambitions given there advancement the reaper codex held in each corpse gave the existing races a window into the technology as well as potential threats still out there , the question is if the races are so advanced to existing why would they need to have an ambassador. We are not alone and the return of the Normandy is a big clue for all

      If we're really taking dna mutations rate as our reference then the Krogans will most likely cover this aspect since they can make 1k eggs at every reproduction and their planet is extremely dangerous.
      Or what about the Asaris? Aliens living 1k years, native biotic powers and capable to reproduce with other species. They wouldn't have a special dna?

    Should have kept the Dark energy subplot excluding the absurd humanity sacrifice. You can always weave your way around that. The "synthetic and organic will always go on war" never was established throughout the trilogy, felt like it came out of nowhere. Even relating it with the real world, such a theme is out of question, as a synthetic being cannot ever be living. Should have simply left the reapers as being indoctrinating killing machine, a dense deep space virus maybe.

    I'm more weirded out by your 12 yr-old mentality in your reaction to this...
