The reason for rejection of SOB and SOS by Amazon was something like "A group of women forced to be forever silent, and another group of females inferior in strength and subservient to the main Space Marines is not in line with our policies." - hence we have the newly-created Female Custodes to put them on equal footing with other current lore groups.
It is not about them not seeing them. The woke do not care what armies are already there. They only care about pushing the message. "The issue is never the issue, the issue is pushing the revolution". Their goal is to change the lore on space marines, so they can insert anything into the game later, without anyone being able to complain, because the lore would already be broken. That this ruins the IP, so much nobody want to play it anymore, is somehow lost on them and the investors.
My wife heard me playing with the boys and she commented that she was happy I was having fun gaming with my buddies again. She's definitely a bit sick of me justifying every decision in the name of The Emperor though 😂
And the black one also has a prosthetic hand, so another point for inclusivity there. Thing is though, the game doesn't focus on those traits and base the characters on them. At no point does Chairon say "I'm black. LOOK AT ME! I also have no right hand!! You must feel bad for me!!" or does Gadriel say "I'm Asian! Love me!!" (Is Gadriel Asian though? Barely looks it to me, but that's just me and ultimately doesn't matter either way). The characters are all new custom characters that just happen to have certain physical traits that in the end doesn't define who they are, and that's the key here that a lot of modern media messes up with. Modern media either swaps established characters with certain traits or makes those traits the focus of characters, and that's what everyone hates.

The funny thing is, that Saber Interactive is not entirely "western" studio. It was founded in Russia in 2001 and people responsible for this masterpiece of a game come from its first studio in St. Petersburg! Truly a sight for sore eyes
saber interactive also owns 3D realms. one of my most anticipated game is tempest rising, and seeing how they crafted wh40k 2, i can rest easy knowing the latest iteration of command&conquer/red alert is in good hands.
That woman who posted "it will attract more women into the hobby." No. It won't. You can play an all-female Guard regiment -- they canonically exist. You can play Sisters of Battle. You can play mixed Inquisition armies with plenty of women. Eldar have plenty of women in their armies too and are generally far more graceful than their Imperial counterparts. Tau also feature women. Chaos has next to no rules, so you could make any kind of Chaos army featuring women. Statistically speaking, it's just not a universe that it suited to women's tastes. It is unforgivingly brutal and violent. Results have shown this time and again. Of course, GW only seems to market Space Marines, so that doesn't help. But claiming that genderswapping Space Marines, which would be completely invisible under their armor, is finally the breaking point that would get women into the hobby is just completely ridiculous. Personally I wouldn't mind at all if they made a Sister of Battle DLC, where you played as one in a separate campaign. But I kinda doubt they will, in truth, because it would mean that none of the new stuff would be compatible or transfer over to the existing PvP and PvE modes. Maybe they could make a Sister game next instead of SM 3.
Amusingly enough, for people who aren't into the lore deep enough to know, there are female and transgender Necrons. Genuinely, lore-canon female and trans Necrons. It's just that everyone in that faction has a fairly non-gender-specific undead robotic skeleton body, with perhaps some slight gender coding based on how bulky or slender the frame might be (and even then, that's not that reliable of an indicator). There's a female lychguard that becomes a semi-important character in one of the books, and that same series of books also has a trans Necron lord. This franchise actually has representation, surprisingly, but it's buried deep because that's not the focus of the stories being told. Which is how representation should be done.

As someone who's new to Warhammer and found out the woke is trying to do the same thing that it did to Star wars Star Trek Lord of the rings. I came ready in the defense of the emperor and the imperium.
@ragnarphillips1957 -- Dude. Star Trek has been woke from the beginning. Star Trek, and most scifi in general, is extremely progressive and social-justice leaning. It seems that when you let people imagine a future or a different future, most of the time they imagine something better. The difference is that back then, progressive writers were competent and they made sure it was a good entertainment product before "The Message". But seriously - have you even seen any Star Trek? It's always been super progressive. For example, the original series had a thinly veiled anti-racism / anti-slavery episode (Let That Be Your Last Battlefield) (my favorite Star Trek episode of all series), and they had a pro choice episodes (ex, TOS The Mark of Gideon), there are plethora of anti capitalism episodes. Hell, the original Star Trek bridge cast had a black woman third in command, and she was respected and valued, but without it being pushed into your face "look, I'm a strong independent black woman". They had an ethnic Russian and Ethnic Japanese person as bridge officers as well at the height of the Cold War and just a few decades after the war in the Pacific in WW2 against the Japanese. I cannot easily explain to you how radical and progressive that was. First interracial kiss on American television. You're just a tourist in the Star Trek space.

I want people to remember GW forced female custodes on us, lied, and gaslighted us about it. I also want people to remember their speedily made letter of how they don't want certain people in the hobby. Games Workshop has consistently shown they are incompetent in knowing who their fans are and what they want. They have much trust to gain back, and even then, their reputation may have been too damaged for that.

Funny thing about the space marines, no matter what colour skin they started with, in theory after they become space marines their skin tone should pretty much be exactly the same as every one of their brothers. One of the augments a space marine has affects their skin so that the more radiation there is in an environment the darker their skin becomes to help protect from the radiation. The mutation of the organ that causes this is why the salamanders chapter all have jet black skin.

Not exactly true brother. The gene seed can yes affect skin tone the most notable being obviously salamanders who are canonically charcoal black but still let’s say you got a salamander who was off of the home planet then technically he could be white. So to say that color matters it’s stupid.
Saying that space marine 2 is western made game IS FALSE! Game is made mostly in Russia. Saber interactive development offices are mostly in eastern Europe: Russia, Belarus, Armenia. Officially company is American with main office in Florida, but most dev studios are not even near USA.

There is one thing that you get wrong, Saber is not a western game developer, it is studio based in Saint Petersburg, Russia, you can open credits and see russian devs names.
Russia was one of the subsidiary thats all. Saber SM2 Studio is located in City of Fort Lauderdale in Florida. They have 13 studios around the world, and Saint Petersburg is the most western city in Russia lol

They went to great lengths to conceal that, to avoid sanctions/pro-ukraine activists and other kind of unfavarable treating. I agree with the representation in video games, I dislike playing as a woman and sometimes won’t get a game when I’m forced to. That being said in warhammer 40k the lore stops you from freely making female space marines, but you’re right there are the sisters of battle who I have woman friends who like 40k who agree they just wanna play the sisters of battle they don’t want female space marines. You don’t need to make female space marines when there are multiple imperium branches that are female only, also Henry Cavill has stated he wants to play Constantine Valdor the Custodes.
Amazon and GW want Henry Cavill to play Titus so that a female custodian can step all over his masculinity during an episode.....just like in Tithes....

If the combat is the same as this i hope not. For a bunch of super soldiers they are slow. I had fun but when done zero reason to stay. If i want a horde like game i stay with darktide feels way better to play then this. Its way More customizable to.

@@kiddakingmpr1669 true in part, now I don't agree with what's been going on in the industry and I personally hope they don't make these changes, unfortunately with how things are setup with updates being made on games it's possible that GW may pressure the devs into it. I personally never got into Warhammer but I have a huge respect for the game. I am however a long time fan of D&D since the 80s and that IP has been having similar issues from Wizards of the Coast. I've been boycotting everything involving D&D/Wizard's since that started. I full agree with what was also said in the video, a game shouldn't be made to appease everyone and if you don't like how a game is or if there's something that you don't like about it, then it's not the right game for you and you shouldn't play it, but never try to have a game be changed just to better suit your wants and ruining it for others. Unfortunately for a while I've been noticing in gaming that this has become the norm in both gaming and the community which in part is stemming from mobile players getting into console/PC games. Since there's little to no gatekeeping from mobile games it's become a big issue of malicious activists also using it as a route into games on other platforms. This was further made easy by devs using mobile versions of PC/console games to attract mobile players to their main games which has caused a huge mess in the community.
I think the funniest thing about women wanting female space marines is the fact that they are basically agreeing to being conscripted into war. The Adeptus Astartes are literally tailored for war on a genetic level so male genetics are optimal. If you actually play the game too there's multiple female commanders and soldiers on the field in the astra militarum. At the end of the day, the target audience for Warhammer games will and always will be primarily men and we want the pure carnage that a Warhammer game provides damnit
The argument for males being optimal is good on its own, because geneseed is so rare and precious. Also in lore the procedure itself can only be done with a males biology.

I think Herny would be an awesome Aquilan Shield Custodes. The Shield Host wich travels out in the Galaxy to protect regular Guard Soldiers or Inquisitors or Civilian, Sororitas, Space Marine etc, because they will be detremental to the Imperium one day. Living Saint, banishes a Demon, becomes a Chaptermaster a General etc. They do this cause either an Brother of the Emissaries Imperatus "dreamt" about it, if these Brothers "dream" it is kind of a vision from bigE himself but always hard to interpret. Or any other Astropath at the Imperial Palace got a vision. So what that would mean is: 1st Herny is a Custodes ✅ 2nd Hernry can act ANYWHERE in the Galaxy ✅ 3rd He can be there on his own or with a small Brotherhood of Custodes ✅ 4th It is bumf*ck easy to introduce ANY OTHER Faction or race to the series ✅ That is what i wish for. Edit: Aquilan Shield also are the most human respecting Custodes. Also the fact that they just pop into the live of the person they protect with a golden flash of light and no explenation is uther hilarious. Shit in your pants moment when the 2,8m DemiGod (OVER 3m in Armour with helmet and plume) stands by your side and says "I protect you from now on by the Emperors will!" 🤣

They refuse to listen to what the _gamers want,_ they’ve been outright *hostile* towards the gamers; and they will eventually pay dearly for it.
Hard disagree about replacing story-driven operations with a horde mode. Add horde mode, but maintain narrative-based missions. I personally love how they filled the gaps in the campaign story with operations.

Interesting since if there's any nation on earth today that seem to be going the direction of the Imperium of Man it is Russia. Warhammer 40k is essentially anti progressive because humanity's progress had countless rises and falls to the point humanity decided to stop progressing. Russia last century was progressive under communism but that order collapsed, Russia today is returning to its roots.

The best part of the game is how the big bad villain's plan was thwarted by simply flipping over the artifact. Which would normally be just god awful writing except its Tzeentch we're talking about. Tzeentch who would have zero issues with sabotaging his own minion's plan because it was either too good, his minion stepped out of line, it did not fall within his grand scheme or just for funsies. The same Chaos God that threw Kairos into the well just to see what would happen. The epitome of "Doing it for the lulz"

Yep, same with the first Predator film. If you go back and look at the cast, it's comically diverse in terms of ethnicity (Austrian, Mexican, American Indian, black, white). In Alien, 2 of the main 9 cast (including the guy in the alien costume) were black - that's above the US population norm. Actually 'diverse' films that are considered modern classics and lauded due to the sex or race of the characters. For all we know Dutch Schaefer could have on his off-time picked-up random guys in truck stops for some bumming - sexuality was not really a factor in the story.

I understand wanting this game to be infinitely replayable but why can’t a game just be fun and then when you get bored of it you put it down and look forward to the next project? And the black one also has a prosthetic hand, so another point for inclusivity there. Thing is though, the game doesn't focus on those traits and base the characters on them. At no point does Chairon say "I'm black. LOOK AT ME! I also have no right hand!! You must feel bad for me!!" or does Gadriel say "I'm Asian! Love me!!" (Is Gadriel Asian though? Barely looks it to me, but that's just me and ultimately doesn't matter either way).
The characters are all new custom characters that just happen to have certain physical traits that in the end doesn't define who they are, and that's the key here that a lot of modern media messes up with. Modern media either swaps established characters with certain traits or makes those traits the focus of characters, and that's what everyone hates.

That woman who posted "it will attract more women into the hobby." No. It won't. You can play an all-female Guard regiment -- they canonically exist. You can play Sisters of Battle. You can play mixed Inquisition armies with plenty of women. Eldar have plenty of women in their armies too and are generally far more graceful than their Imperial counterparts. Tau also feature women. Chaos has next to no rules, so you could make any kind of Chaos army featuring women.
Statistically speaking, it's just not a universe that it suited to women's tastes. It is unforgivingly brutal and violent. Results have shown this time and again. Of course, GW only seems to market Space Marines, so that doesn't help. But claiming that genderswapping Space Marines, which would be completely invisible under their armor, is finally the breaking point that would get women into the hobby is just completely ridiculous.
Personally I wouldn't mind at all if they made a Sister of Battle DLC, where you played as one in a separate campaign. But I kinda doubt they will, in truth, because it would mean that none of the new stuff would be compatible or transfer over to the existing PvP and PvE modes. Maybe they could make a Sister game next instead of SM 3.
Amusingly enough, for people who aren't into the lore deep enough to know, there are female and transgender Necrons. Genuinely, lore-canon female and trans Necrons.
It's just that everyone in that faction has a fairly non-gender-specific undead robotic skeleton body, with perhaps some slight gender coding based on how bulky or slender the frame might be (and even then, that's not that reliable of an indicator). There's a female lychguard that becomes a semi-important character in one of the books, and that same series of books also has a trans Necron lord.
This franchise actually has representation, surprisingly, but it's buried deep because that's not the focus of the stories being told. Which is how representation should be done.

But seriously - have you even seen any Star Trek? It's always been super progressive. For example, the original series had a thinly veiled anti-racism / anti-slavery episode (Let That Be Your Last Battlefield) (my favorite Star Trek episode of all series), and they had a pro choice episodes (ex, TOS The Mark of Gideon), there are plethora of anti capitalism episodes. Hell, the original Star Trek bridge cast had a black woman third in command, and she was respected and valued, but without it being pushed into your face "look, I'm a strong independent black woman". They had an ethnic Russian and Ethnic Japanese person as bridge officers as well at the height of the Cold War and just a few decades after the war in the Pacific in WW2 against the Japanese. Funny thing about the space marines, no matter what colour skin they started with, in theory after they become space marines their skin tone should pretty much be exactly the same as every one of their brothers. One of the augments a space marine has affects their skin so that the more radiation there is in an environment the darker their skin becomes to help protect from the radiation. The mutation of the organ that causes this is why the salamanders chapter all have jet black skin.

I agree with the representation in video games, I dislike playing as a woman and sometimes won’t get a game when I’m forced to. That being said in warhammer 40k the lore stops you from freely making female space marines, but you’re right there are the sisters of battle who I have woman friends who like 40k who agree they just wanna play the sisters of battle they don’t want female space marines. You don’t need to make female space marines when there are multiple imperium branches that are female only, also Henry Cavill has stated he wants to play Constantine Valdor the Custodes.

I personally never got into Warhammer but I have a huge respect for the game. I am however a long time fan of D&D since the 80s and that IP has been having similar issues from Wizards of the Coast. I've been boycotting everything involving D&D/Wizard's since that started. I full agree with what was also said in the video, a game shouldn't be made to appease everyone and if you don't like how a game is or if there's something that you don't like about it, then it's not the right game for you and you shouldn't play it, but never try to have a game be changed just to better suit your wants and ruining it for others. Unfortunately for a while I've been noticing in gaming that this has become the norm in both gaming and the community which in part is stemming from mobile players getting into console/PC games. Since there's little to no gatekeeping from mobile games it's become a big issue of malicious activists also using it as a route into games on other platforms. This was further made easy by devs using mobile versions of PC/console games to attract mobile players to their main games which has caused a huge mess in the community.
I think the funniest thing about women wanting female space marines is the fact that they are basically agreeing to being conscripted into war. The Adeptus Astartes are literally tailored for war on a genetic level so male genetics are optimal. If you actually play the game too there's multiple female commanders and soldiers on the field in the astra militarum.
At the end of the day, the target audience for Warhammer games will and always will be primarily men and we want the pure carnage that a Warhammer game provides damnit

I think Herny would be an awesome Aquilan Shield Custodes. The Shield Host wich travels out in the Galaxy to protect regular Guard Soldiers or Inquisitors or Civilian, Sororitas, Space Marine etc, because they will be detremental to the Imperium one day. Living Saint, banishes a Demon, becomes a Chaptermaster a General etc. They do this cause either an Brother of the Emissaries Imperatus "dreamt" about it, if these Brothers "dream" it is kind of a vision from bigE himself but always hard to interpret. Or any other Astropath at the Imperial Palace got a vision. So what that would mean is: 1st Herny is a Custodes ✅ 2nd Hernry can act ANYWHERE in the Galaxy ✅ 3rd He can be there on his own or with a small Brotherhood of Custodes ✅ 4th It is bumf*ck easy to introduce ANY OTHER Faction or race to the series ✅ That is what i wish for.

The best part of the game is how the big bad villain's plan was thwarted by simply flipping over the artifact. Which would normally be just god awful writing except its Tzeentch we're talking about. Yep, same with the first Predator film. If you go back and look at the cast, it's comically diverse in terms of ethnicity (Austrian, Mexican, American Indian, black, white). In Alien, 2 of the main 9 cast (including the guy in the alien costume) were black - that's above the US population norm. Actually 'diverse' films that are considered modern classics and lauded due to the sex or race of the characters. For all we know Dutch Schaefer could have on his off-time picked-up random guys in truck stops for some bumming - sexuality was not really a factor in the story.

Space Marine 2’s success is a prime example of making something badass being profitable, instead of making propaganda, which is a financial liability.
I understand wanting this game to be infinitely replayable but why can’t a game just be fun and then when you get bored of it you put it down and look forward to the next project? I’d rather the game fade away than see it become something I absolutely hate. The fact is most games that attempt to have a multi year plan tend to always end up pissing off the fans and leave a bad taste in the community’s mouth. Let Space marine 2 just be a fun call back to the early 2010’s and leave it at that. Please don’t ruin this game with promises that can never be achieved. They actively hunt down these 'fallen' so this blemish to their loyalty to the emperor is never discovered. It has nothing to do with sexuality of any type, especially as it pretty heavily implied that any sexual drive is removed when they are made marines, and live only for duty and war.
