For those of you complaining about the size, think of MINI as a brand instead of a product. As far as "MINI-ness" is concerned, I think they absolutely 100% knocked it out of the park. It's not mini...it's a MINI.

Drove one last Sunday , the tech on that car is something else , as a countryman owner I think the next gen has definitely moved on , the autonomous driving up to 30 mph was a great experience. Looks like we will end up with our 7th mini
It feels like a big upgrade to me 👍
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru considering the tech and it’s bigger plus it’s the next generation, our countryman exclusive is only 9 months old and when we build the new one up , it’s only £1000 more but with even more spec as standard , so mini have done well with the pricing ,

Thanks Jim. Very good but a little more info on boot / dropping the rear seats - do they go flat for example. Fitting Child seats - the practical stuff getting in and out the back. Storage. But thanks for your review.

I drove one in Virginia Beach had gone over a few slow bumps on the road. I didn't expect the jar suspension too tight? Gentle steering wheel handling very easy to make turns. The dashboard looks striking but how does one keep it clean? This was my first experience with the Mini countryman -- quite charming!

Great review. Waiting for my S version to arrive ftom the factory. The previous 3 cylinder Countryman was severly underpowered, but it seems like the new engines are just fine.
Have you drive a similar X1? If so, how would they compare?
I haven’t driven the latest X1 so can’t really comment. This engine is certainly not underpowered though. It’s a fantastic drive.
Not a Mini fan but I have to admit that just looks WOW
Same here (Although I do have a soft spot for the Mini Cooper)
I love LOVE the big, round screen, but hopefully MINI had the foresight to equip it with a polarizer or some other form of UV protection. Or, hopefully they have deal worked out where you get a free replacement every 1 or 2 years. Sunlight and heat will absolutely destroy an OLED display

Probably similar to Niro, driving position is a tad lower than the XC40 - it feels more modern than both
Can’t believe I’m just about to say it but… looks very good and definitely a massive upgrade from the last model which, as you know, had been an absolute nightmare for us!
This is actually really nice, and no diesel!
Would the “S” be much quicker but maybe too firm of a ride?

The 1.5 never had any timing chain issues. So yea, solved.
From my perspective the BMW Minis have always been fun to drive, stylish, unreliable and damn expansive to fix. Unless there has been a sea change with the way they are built just walk away.

I test drove one on Monday, I loved the exterior and interior, but found the drive far too harsh. It wasn’t forgiving on any road surface except the smoothest. I would rather have a Volvo XC40 for better ride comfort any day …..

@miniusa I love MINI's but the dashboard is too plain now. It needs something else beyond the fabric dashboard.

As a Mini owner, I’m on my 3rd Mini (2022 Cooper SE), this will be my last if they carry on with the trend of grotesque design features. It’s lost its brand essence…
