Learning to cast a Multiplier Reel

In this episode I show a short clip of me attempting to learn how to cast a multiplyer reel, although I use a Multiplier reel when fishing on the boat/kayak I've never shore fished with one before. So I decided it was time to have a go.

once you go multiplier theres no going back. I cant stand using fixed spool for sea fishing anymore. There are time I will use them, like for fishing in close but they just annoy me lol. Have you gone 30lb straight through, no shock leader?? I use 18lb big game and 60lb leader for 90 percent of my fishing.

I'm the opposite, a fixed spool girl BUT there has been the odd occasion when I've thought "a multi would be much better here" but generally fixed spools are so much easier, a lot less hassle! I usually use 20lb Big Game with a 60lb Shock leader but for learning sake I just went 30lb straight though so I could concentrate on learning to cast and not have to worry about ripping my thumb to pieces!! BUT saying that I made sure no one was around me (on my right side) even though Big Game is crazy strong and it's highly unlikely I could snap it casting.....
