This was one of our favorite parks, but we haven't been there in many years. I remember the deer, the place was sort of rundown, and the site were full of grass burs. Glad that they built that new section.

Large roomy sites. The TT we stayed at in Colorado (2023) were so small we didn’t even have room to put our chairs out.

Yes, this park (Colorado River in Columbus Texas) is very roomy - we haven't been to Blue Mesa, the TT park in Colorado, yet, but we will be there later this year. Great review, except I would like to say that I like to choose my site and do not want the park to choose for me. If I had the option to request a site with sky access for satellite, or a site with close access to an area to take our dogs out, I would be more in favor. Or, if the park gave me a list of optional sites that I could choose from, that would be okay. But I want some choice. It looks like you lucked out and got a great site though! 🙂

Thanks for watching. Our "like" on the assigned sites is that it isn't a mad scramble to get to a site in an unfamiliar park, or taking a less desirable site and then moving a day or two later. I'm sure once this is implemented more across the country (as it is with C2C, PA, and most private parks) that you can contact the park ahead if you have special needs for a site (open sky, shade, etc.). So far, they said it's gone over well at Colorado River.
