      well , i heard in an interview done with benny the jet that jackie chan told benny he wanted the scene and fight to be like that , that benny gave his all in that fight , and that jackie was ready to take the beating for the scene to be this great , this is the outcome of it all these years later still holds .

      th.... thanos?!? You can't possibly mention that piece of shit of a name in a Jackie Chan compilation. Please leave american movies out of discussions in JC threads. Americans are good at many things, but not at close combat movies. They're not creative, nor fast enough to even think about competing with the Master of martial arts movies, Mr. Jackie Chan himself

      @@blabla-rg7ky DEFINITELY NOT TRUE, loved Chan since his Drunken style-Fearless Hyena Days(Like Big Brawl Best) His movies are riddled with" phony Impossible trick" accompanied by Physical GENIUS.
      As a Longtime Martial Artist AND movie enthusiasts I ,like MOST non Asians DON'T LIKE THE PHONEY. 🙄🤔 Look at the choreography for BLOOD AND BONE,BEST OF THE BEST 1AND 4,NEVER SURRENDER 2-3 American made Martial Arts films that capture the Spirit of the Arts in a FAR MORE REALISTIC MANNER,yet still displaying the Deadly Beauty of a style/System. One only has to look at Chand' outtakes to see how"phoney" many of his moves are..Takes those of us who know ,RIGHT OUT THE MOVIE With "Impossible "shit. Look at Thanos' fighting style and at least its ALL DOABLE😂 If you guys think Michael Jai,Phillip Rhee, Jason Statham(Wild card) aren't as talented or those fight scenes aren't as good then you just don't know anything about how to make "good fight scenes " and just PREFER the PHONEY 😂😃

      @@bronzetiger3837 no idea what you're talking about but since you say that non-asians are better at asian style of fighting than asians themselves your opinion matters squat in my eyes. Sorry (not really), let's agree to disagree and move on :)

      @@blabla-rg7ky I feel you,ya likes what ya like. But As for the"Do it better than Asian thing", YOU DO KNOW that in fighting they haven't been considered the best in a Long, long time. TOURNAMENTS like K-1, and Absolute fighting, UFC,PRIDE,Glory ,ONE and MANY OTHER shows,MANY SPONSORED BY ASIANS,YET RARELY WON BY ASIANS Have proven that. Same for the film world as the Asians often try to emulate American box office success by making "more films with Western sensibilities ". Fast.and Furious and AVENGERS movies make more than the few Martial arts films they DO make......In China!....They love our stuff. Didn't mean to imply that our choreography is necessarily better,SOMETIMES it is(Best of the Best,Bone,Wick) sometimes its NOT(Ip Man,Onk Bak, The Protector, THE RAID 1-2 ALL ARE SUPERIOR fight films😁) I just meant that EVERYONE now days can make EXCELLENT fight films(European, UNDISPUTED BOYKA series,hell Scott Adkins himselfLOL) And unlike our Jacky Chan faves in the 80's these movies are more grounded,utilizing less camera tricks and stunts as substitution for lack of combat expertise. Be Healthy. Be safe.

    My hot take is that Bruce Lee would have not done a fight scene like this one, because he took himself too seriously. That's why the older I get the more I appreciate Jackie's style, humor, and willingness to show opponents that might actually be a threat to him. Lee's scenes were always so one-sided. The Jackie vs. Benny scene is one of my favorite cinema fights of all time.

    • @chrisbach1533
      @chrisbach1533 ปีที่แล้ว

      With all respect but thats not really true. Let s go through Lee s 4 1/2 films when his characters were the protagonists:
      1) The Big Boss aka Fists of Fury
      Progatonist: Cheng, Chaoan (Bruce Lee)
      Antagonist: Mr. Mi (Han, Yingchieh aka Hon, Yingit)
      Mr Cheng struggled very much with Mr Mi. He gets hit by him many times and even slashed with a knife. Cheng only wins in a very close fight.
      2) Fist of Fury aka The Chinese Connection
      Protagonist: Chen, Zhen (Bruce Lee)
      Antagonists: Suzuki (Riki Hashimoto), Petrov (Bob Baker)
      Chen has much trouble with Petrov. He defeats Suzuki with a Nunchaku vs a Katana.
      3) Way of the Dragon aka Return of the Dragon
      Protagonist: Tang, Lung (Bruce Lee)
      Antagonist: Colt (Chuck Norris)
      Even if Lung wins in the end, he gets floored by Colt three times in the beginning.
      4) Enter the Dragon
      Protagonist: Lee (Bruce Lee)
      Antagonist: Mr Han (Shieh, Kien aka Shek, Kin)
      Han has the big advantage becaus of his big steel claw. So maybe this fight is bad to judge.
      5) Game of Death
      Protagonist: Hai, Tien (Bruce Lee)
      Antagonists: Escrima Master (Dan Inosanto); Hapkido Master (Ji, Hanjae); Giant (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar).
      Hai defeats the Escrima and Hapkido Masters without too much effort, but he bararely wins against the 7'2"=218cm giant.
      So you cant really say the fights of Lee's movie characters are one-sided. He gets hit and hurt by almost anyone.

    • @marktomlinson4052
      @marktomlinson4052 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is all true and I agree with the fights, although usually Lee defeats his opponents with ease until near the end of the movies where he often rarely takes a fair hit from an antagonist, but I disagree about the Hapkido Master fight being easy for Hai Tien, the allies constantly distracted him which made him sustain more damage from the Hapkido Master, so the fight wasn't fully fair, however when Hai Tien eventually breaks his back, he is limping and is in clear pain, he does somewhat recover before fighting the giant (Mantis is his name in the 1972 version), but he has many bruises and takes many hits even without distractions although he mostly dominates throughout the fight, he takes around as many hits as when he takes on Mantis.@@chrisbach1533

Benny is so clean. My friend told me the first fight was actually composed of real fight and choreographed fight hence why the first half was so intense.

And this despite the fact that it would be a very refreshing idea, and something that would be very welcome by many viewers. And to be further honest, if anyone's capable of, and "insane" (in a good way) enough to come up with such a movie it's gonna be none other than Jackie Chan himself. This guy is so creative, and so unconventional that I wouldn't be surprised if he ever starred in, or directed a movie in which the bad guy wins all the time :)

    Trivia:
    While the overall fight is highly choreographed, the impact of those punches were real. The two agreed to hit each other for real and add as much power as possible to make it all look realistic. Jackie was a perfectionist, and Benny on the other hand was a professional fighter. Through his translator (Since Jackie did not speak a lot of English that time) he, asked Benny if he would let him hit him with full contact or power. Benny said, "Oh yeah sure, this is what I do for a living". Afterwards, Jackie asked if Benny could kick him for real. Benny asked if Jackie was sure. He noded yes, And so he did, and it sent Jackie flying across the hall. Benny got worried that it pissed Jackie off and he would fire his ass. Instead Jackie gave Benny a thumbs up and from there on, they agreed to hit each other for real. Benny of course was holding back, but Jackie pretty much delivered his blows with power. Which is why it all looks too real.
