    One of my absolute favourites in the 64. Those early Activision games were just so great playability wise and I think this also looks great with a really colourful look. Finally got around to buying a copy of it recently.

      I'm also looking to buy the actual copy of the game, I love the cover art too... would be a nice addition to the shelf. So I think thats my plan over the next few days, trying to source a copy 😇🕹️👌

    I am still looking for this game to my
    Commodore 64 😹👍🕹️.
    Activision brought so many legendary
    classic games for the Atari 2600,
    Commodore 64 and Amiga 😺👍🕹️.
    TOY BIZARRE may be as challenging as
    MARIO BROS., but it is a brilliant classic game 😺👍🕹️.

    A wonderful spooky moody game! For some reason, many people seem unaware of the most common way to stun the enemies - jumping over them. This is usually a lot easier than using the piston pairs.

      Even the bonus levels were pretty challenging when there are multiple androids roaming the screen, very addictive even though it had a simple premise. Mind you, it was tricky to juggle everything when the screens become manic. A very good game indeed 😇🕹️👌

    Players control Merton, a maintenance man who works at a toy factory, represented by a series of platforms and valves. During one of his shifts, the toys come to life and rebel. Merton has to capture all the toys while avoiding a life-sized doll named Hefty Hilda. Hilda and Merton can freely travel through the factory, jumping on to the various platforms and toggling the valves on or off. While turned on, the valves create balloons. If Merton does not pop the balloon in time, it hatches a toy. Merton can not ordinarily touch the toys or Hilda; doing so causes him to lose one of his five lives.

    Great game! I agree with your comparison to Mario Bros. Even the Safety Check bonus stage reminds me of the coin collecting bonus stage in Mario Bros (except you have an enemy or two working against you). The music before each stage was a bit odd... but also cool. Lots of fun! I played this game quite a bit!

    A fantastic game, one you could load up for a quick game and be totally happy. I seem to remember it was quite small, one of those 65ish block-long games that would fit nicely in the remaining space on many a blank disk!

    This game totally could have been an arcade game. They could have made it an electro-mechanical game with the balloon generators being actual physical props with the playfield being projected on it (like games from the late 70's early 80's). Furthest I made it was Thursday, not sure if weekends are included on the levels.

    • @CheekyCommodoreGamer
      @CheekyCommodoreGamer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, would have made a good arcade game - however with the Mario Bros game already out there, maybe it was a little too similar? Not sure... still - I'd have enjoyed playing this in the arcades definitely 😇🕹️👌
