This is not an average level rich people but this was crazy rich people. The amount of rare artifact and collection is mind blowing. This uncle could easily buy an entire island💰💰
he got the real rich guy outfit
Hmm... It's True...
@@jasonssw-yt6xrikr😂
That and also because maintaining any old or historical building is expensive. These days buying a new house is cheaper than keeping an old one
I respect kinda respect crazy rich people who can do their own electrical wiring like this guy and could get his hands dirty doing manual labour to maintain his cultural collections.
This is one of the most interesting episode, it is heart warming to see a fellow Malaysian who loves and care about their heritage so much. I really enjoy looking at the artefact and collections plus the story behind each pieces. Good job!
As Malaysian, I don't even know this place exists. Thanks so much for sharing this with the world. My mouth is literally open for most of the things shown. Much better than any videos of food... 🤣 more culture less food 😁
Subhanallah... Indah nya Malaysia ku...
They know Malaysia better than us 😂😂
Agree....
Me too...terlopong😮
yeh janda baik...tempat golongan elite Malaysian since zaman british, banyak rumah macm ni kat atas sana.
tauu xpeeeee
His father is Tan Sri Kamarul Arifin. Ex-Senator Dewan Negara.
No wonder...
44mins isn't enough!!!! I love when people provide historical information. And also his family from long time ago knew that inheritance would be so valuable
Even for Malaysians this is a highly unusual Tanah Melayu family whose provenance/salasilah cross the world entire.Truly 'Penjaga Khazanah Melayu*Raya'.
This type of house is for pembesar, and this speakers is on of the descendant of pembesar. If you want to see rakyat house, there's still plenty in bota, Perak. All of those abandon traditional house is authentic without any modern design. Thats why mat kilau shooting there and not in east coast
Ichang really did a great job, thank you got showing us the wonderful culture and history of Malaysia, as a malaysian, I feel extremely grateful!
This whole explanation clearly shows that old people really smart, brilliant and tried to invent many things to make life easier
Very creative right
This video become my no 1 favorit.
Greeting my Jiran Country 🇮🇩🇲🇾❤
The Keris is actually like an Identity Card in the old days. A keris can tell alot about you. Some keris or kerambit are made from a very poisonus material such as wood / monkey bones. Not sure what monkey but it is very poisonus and can cause fatal. Other than keris, tengkolok / tanjak, a traditional headwear usually worn by the royalties, it can also tell the ranking of the Sultan / King. Traditional fabrics can also tell alot back in the days. As a Malaysian, i am always a big fan of cultures and traditions. I am still learning. Hopefully someone can corect me if am wrong.
Eventhour l am 63 yrs old, I'm really loved to see the young generation like Jimmy & I Chang very appreciated our culture. Thank you
This is a national treasure. So much to learn even for us Malays. Now we can see a part of our ancestor tradition and some of the history of how Islam in this region back those days.
same sentiment. I really wanna plan a trip here and learn about our history.
Banyak rumah kayu yang ditinggalkan di perak, ada bunga kerewang, ada lantai jarang, tapi anak anak semua tak mahu tinggal sebab takut hantu. Last Last hantu betul tinggal kat situ. Sebab tu mat kilau dibuat penggambaran di perak
What a great video. Thank you both of you. This prove that our ancestors are living harmoniously together even though they have different background and ethnicity. Hopefully their love and unity continue to spread by us Malaysian. Now we have Jimmy and ichang, time to make another Malaysian history together hahaha
This uncle is so informative and you can see his passion in explaining one by one to the visitors is really amazing..his voice also really suits to become tour guide..no eerr.arrr..what ah..apa nama apa nama..i really like this uncle
What a beautiful Malay Traditional house. 😍
I can see the dad very passionate in preservating the heritage
Magnificent! What a great host and what a beautiful pieces of arts! Another gems unlocked by Jimmy and iChang!
Sentosa Janda Baik! I stayed here 2 nights with my family. Lovely place, lovely hosts. 😊 They also have cute and friendly cats living on the property! ❤
thanks for sharing. the "cute and friendly cats" part excites me the most haha
this is not a typical rich. this is a crazy rich. how i wish that my family preserve all the culture artifacts like this
Yes they are rich because their family is royal family
In middle of KL city, there is also an over 100 years old Malay traditional house known as "Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman". Visitors are welcomed to enter the house with a guided/private tour.
Rumah Degil Chow Kit di Balai Seni Negara pon okay juga.
At first I wanted to skip this video as I thought I wouldn't like it because I am more interested in food. But after watching it for awhile, I got hooked on all those artifacts and their history and finished the video. This is one of your most interesting videos I must say. Thank you for showing us, IChang and Jimmy!
I just know that this entire family is maddddddddd rich to be able to keep all that......wow
That is only 40% of their collections. The more expensive ones are in KL
Chengal tropical hard wood from Malaysia is highly in demand worldwide due to its great properties. But there are less exports from Malaysia now due to the ban on cutting of these trees. This has led to the price of this wood skyrocketing.
Today, Most of cengal wood came from kalimantan.
It's a heritage paradise, maybe a lot more we never see in the video. Thanks for the video.
Waah best la video minggu ni. Saya pun tak tahu ada tempat ni. Terima Kasih iChang
Wow! Just wow! This is how I imagine what the old Malay castle look like. (Istana di zaman silam) The room, the garden, the Islamic art piece. Kudos to the owner and the family to preserve and open the gallery to the public to see. Definitely the place as Malaysian we must visit.
Kalau rumah macam ni, rumah pembesar. Istana lagi besar dan bertingkat. Kalau nak tengok rumah rakyat, boleh pergi ke negeri perak terutamanya di bota, tempat mat kilau buat penggambaran, kawasan tu memang banyak rumah kampung tradisional yang ditinggalkan
Thank you for showing us this wonderful traditional House. Love the tour with all the interesting stories.
This is the most rarest, informative and valuable episodes of all...one the best so far...good job Ichang & Jimmy...Thanks to the owner also to preserve all those ancient items. 👍👍👍👍
you know what, Ichang & Jimmy? I can watch your video even you guys upload it for 2 hours. Something about your channel, your videos and the vibe are so enjoyable and addictive. Btw, i missed your old relaxing music theme XD
i can feel the passion oozing from that uncle.. good job..
I love this episode ❤❤❤❤❤. It was such a great experience to see all those collections & felt like back to the future. Very rich traditions, full of appreciation & history. Thanks to Ichang & Jimmy for sharing this & hope that you’ll feel more comfortable in staying here exploring rich & multicultural cultures of Malaysia ❤️
So much time and effort to collect and preserve all these artifacts. Such a cool museums, very intimate too coz everything is personal self collect items. Very unusual and unique. Thank you ichang and Jimmy for bringing us all to this tour, what a lovely experience ❤
This is a good episode, so much stuff and knowledge. Now missing my kampung in parit perak where they have a 100 year old house almost the same design as this one.
I love the land. If there is a hammock. Most likely I will fall asleep the whole time🤭. This is called a real house... Less stress and easy for the eyes around nature.. good find team IChang 👍
the best, truly a relic of malay heritage. It is very difficult to see a complete Malay heritage house like this
Been following iChang for some time, and your food videos always amaze me. But this one is really different and I was so enthralled by it all. Different but very interesting. Thank you Jimmy & iChang. Never knew tht this kind of art gallery exists in a place like JBaik. ❤ ❤❤
It seems like you guys really into Malaysian culture, not a typical culture hunter 😊😊, and feels like the uncle really put his hard earn life dedicating to the display, magnificent
This has to one of our favourite video. Its really rare nowadays to find a malay family who really treasure their family heritage and cultures. I wanna bring my girls here to explore. ❤❤
sumpah cantik konsep rumah dia macam rumah bangsawan orang dulu.
Kawasan seperti bota, batu gajah, lambor, Kuala kangsar. Kat TH-cam ada Channel yang pergi rakam video rumah rumah tersebut
I've learnt to cherish now whatever my parents have and which still kept till today. Let our next next next generations get to know the past. Thank you Jimmy & Ichang for showing this video.❤
Such a nice place , the owner really friendly and is amazing he keep so much antique at home
Wow this is very interesting. As an art, history and artifacts lover, I find this episode is very exciting and enlightening. Bring back lots of memories of my childhood time in the 60s and 70s. Didnt know that Janda Baik has this gem.
wow. nampak jelas love and passion owner pd art gallery warisan keluarga dia
nice informative tour. As a Kedahan Malaysian, I learned a lot!
It's hard to find people that keep their tradisional house this day. Proud of them. It's as a lesson to new.generation.
Because maintainance cost for today Woodhouse is higher than brickhouse. Those wood is not cheap wood. In malay house, you can choose which wood you want to built and each has different usage. For example jati is the most famous one but its doesn't have water resistance. So most of time jati wood only use for furniture or inner Part of the house. Meranti wood is great for fire resistance but its hard to find and malay use it on kitchen room. Cengal is the Best one for Water resistance and were use for the whole outer part of the house, cengal also has different type and for malay boat or ship, they use cengal batu which is the most hardest among all the wood.
What makes malay traditional house unique from the rest of the world is
1) tanggam technique or the West called as mortise
2) each Part of the house can be portable
3) there's panic room in northern region malay house. Its located at the top of the house under roof.
Thank you Jimmy and IChang for introducing Malaysian culture to Malaysians. Wonderful eye opening experience.
Best episode for us to learn about the culture, islamic art such a lovely place, their love is seen in the passion to preserve their heritage and family art collection.
This is the best ever video that I've watched from you guys. Very...very interesting and packed with informative cultures
Sejuta terima kasih ❤❤❤
PRICELESS content 👌
BETTER than museum 🖼️🎨
Alhamdulillah ❤❤❤
Thanks This video makes me appreciate more about art. I never thought that such place exist in malaysia
Beautiful. Thank you for this video.
traditional Malay house design is actually valuable for modern house architectural design in low energy/passive energy building design. i was using the concept to pass the subject "building energy design" in my Master in Civil Engineering coursework. lol. really appreciate that they keep and maintain this old traditional Malay house well. more traditional houses would be long gone in next 10-20 years.
Considering the space it needed most house lot aren't really big enough.
@@gilgameshlfx7006 yeah. its design mostly best for detached or bungalow, a.k.a rich ppl's house. i take only the ventilation and high roof parts of traditional Malay house to implement into terrace house design. the idea is to keep the heat in roof at noon from transferring down to interior part of house. although air is an insulator, still can conduct the heat in a distance. so, either increase the distance between the roof to floor or double the ceiling layer to isolate. or create vents at soffit to let wind blowing into inner roof part to carry heat away from roof through another vent at another side's soffit
Watching this amazing n informative vlog on repeat mode..seem like watching a history in the making .the friendly host is a living legend..
wow.. this is something!!! i never know this place exist!! this family have done extraordinary work for the pieces of malay/ malaysian heritage!
I've been to Janda Baik buat never knew this place exist. Its so interesting and full of knowledge.
Tq to Ichang and Jimmy ❤
because it used to be private land and nobody allowed to get it. But now Tan Sri Kamarul Ariffin is too old and cant manage it anymore so he allowed his son to open it as a gallery. Its still new to public. But his house are well known among Malay politician and they used to have secret meeting here since zaman Tun Razak.
You only go Dato Aliff chalet only that's why 😅
Xpernah tahu pun walaupun ada negeri Pahang ni😊😊😊...betul ichang dapat jejak...penuh dgn nostalgia zaman dulu-dulu
This is the best episode! I love history and culture and this estate is just wonderful! I have so many questions for the owner! I hope you guys understand how special it is to see all the artifacts up close and personal. Absolutely lovely!❤
The Best video from iChang!!!!

So very interesting- it’s great that the owner is preserving his heirlooms for posterity. Some shots were abit dark because of the lighting but I still enjoyed watching this amazing private tour.

I'm keen to find out more story of the great grand father.
Fascinating collection of times past, would love to see more. The owner's description made it so interesting too. Nowadays things are so mass-produced, could they be interesting in the far future?
Wow! Interesting content.
can some people or gov remake more Malay houses and put in KL? or even in Kampung Baru? the Malay traditional houses there left not much ;/
There's many abandon traditional house in perak especially in perak tengah (bota, batu gajah, Kuala kangsar, lambor). Most of those house were left since 80's to 90's. Its still standing. I would said since 2000's, most of the house that still using were modified to modern design like brickwall which destroy the purpose of the designer intended
I learnt so much in this video! Thank you Uncle, Jimmy & Ichang!
Luxurious traditional Malay house. Very good episode, really enjoyed watching this, keep it up i Chang n Jimmy 👌
Wow, what an amazing place with a magnificent collection ❤. Thank you for sharing this and taking us along with you! 😊
Wow I learn so much through this video ❤
Tanah dan rumah ni milik Tan sri Kamarul Ariffin bin yassin. Orang Temerloh Pahang, kerdau. Pak cik ni anak dia. Bukan orang kaleng-kaleng pemilik rumah dan tanah ni. Salah seorang negarawan ulung Melayu Pahang, sama zaman dgan Tun Razak. Zaman dia adalah zaman ramai ahli politik dari Pahang menguasai politik Malaysia. Kebanyakan dari temerloh, tempat koi. xD.
Oh patutlah. Mertua almarhum Raja Ashman rupanya, bapa kpd Noraini Jane..bersaudara dgn kerabat diraja Perak dah la
Dont mind visiting this place. Nice window into history.
OMG! OMG!! there's a hidden superbly spot in JB. Other than their camping sites. TQ Jimmy & Ichang. 🎉
