    The lady with the German Shepherd said that the dog's mother had the same problem with not being able to give birth. Why would she breed the dog knowing that there is a birth defect that has been passed down from her mother.

    I had to laugh when Scott said 'good news we've got a bladder'. The first time I heard that comment at my vet's clinic I was startled. I asked why they thought she wouldn't have a bladder. They then explained that it meant that the bladder was full and they could extract a sample.

    I am so thankful that the koalas will be ok. I'm so saddened by the fact that the koala population is still declining even after the wildfires. I see these videos and I just want to fly to Australia and give them all some TLC. They are my favorite animal, although I've never come in contact with any living here in the US. I know the sound the make is very strange and someone said once that they were not that great of an animal, but they are so cute and look so cuddly that I don't care:) I'm thankfully that there are places that help the injured and sick ones.

    • @xenalovesares

      They are trulely precious. It scarey to think of a world without them. Hope you get to come here one day, go to a wildlife park or Zoo and get to home one. Very cute and the ones in Zoos are often cuddle but not the wild ones. I got scratched once by a youngster while volunteering at a Zoo simply because I was putting eucolpytus leaf into the area for them and the youngster called Mango tried climbing up my leg to get to the leaf 🤣. Hurt but ucky not a bad one, he kept following me around until I had all the leaf ready for them. 😍🤣

      Me neither. I'd absolutely love to hug a precious koala. They only time I've ever seen them nasty, is when mating. They are lil monsters then. Girls don't want to and boys will bite and do all kinds of mean things to girls, until they get what they want. I guess alot if human and animals alike have the same problems.

      My late mother visited her sister who lived in Perth, Australia in the 1970s. This was known to be a major disease among Koalas back then so nothing to do with floods. Just as in humans Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease. They even say that in the video. Such a shame that the lovely Koalas are still succumbing to it.

    • @Cuaedria

      Maybe she shouldn’t breed *that* female. There’s too much demand for purebred dogs. Work yourself to increase demand for shelter dogs & find a way to reduce THEIR reproduction, & the demand for purebred animals should naturally decrease. Less demand, less supply produced.

    One more comment.... I don't understand people that breed their animals when there are so many homeless pets that are looking at the death sentence everyday. Someone told me it was just supply and demand, but I think it's about money with purebreds and irresponsibility with non-purebreds. I try not to judge, but it breaks my heart when I think that the planned breeding and refusal to fix your animal could prevent or even contribute to the death of the homeless animals 🥺

    I hate dog breeders. There are so many dogs in shelters and pounds that need loving homes, many are German shepherds.
    Until all shelters and pounds around the world are empty and all stray dogs are off the streets, STOP DOG BREEDERS.

    They said Anna’s birth camel is to small. This was the the best solution for Anne’s health. Who care what breed they are. It is moms heath that is most important.

    LOVE your programs!!! ❤️ But as a nurse, I'm alarmed that you weren't wearing PPE, especially gloves at all times, to protect yourselves as well as the other koalas from Chlamydia. Is there a reason why you don't?

    pirotelady ,With some STDs there so bad all they have to do is be handled by someone with the ST D without gloves or protection

    Clymidia is contagious, where are their gloves. On & off gloves is wrong. Should be constant wearing of gloves from the minute they start to handle the animal.

      Their type of clymidia is almost all non zoonotically transmitted.

    • @xenalovesares
      @xenalovesares 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The more common strain, Chlamydia pecorum, is responsible for most of the outbreak in Queensland and cannot be transmitted to humans. The second strain, C. pneumoniae, can infect humans if, say, an infected koala were to urinate on someone, though it's unlikely.

    There are way to many ppl in this world and as a result of that we as humans desory animals homes there needs to be some law in place that stops humans from having more humans for awhile to help the animals cuz humans just move right after into there homes and we start to lose them

      Yeah. Honestly, koalas are the kind of evolutionary mess that could only survive in isolation. While I understand wanting to help them and agree that habitat loss is a generally bad thing, I also think their time might just be up.

    I'm wondering why they would need to wait for a confirmation of chlamydia to start on treatment for it when it is that obvious in the koalas. Human doctors put it simply: If you believe that someone has a treatable with antibiotics VD, treat until confirmed that it is not that VD in question.

    • @GCKMimi
      @GCKMimi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      My thought on this is that because the antibiotics can effect the bacteria in the koalas' gut as well as the chlamydia, they want to be absolutely sure it IS chlamydia before they start the antibiotics so they aren't unnecessary harming the bacteria the koalas actually need to digest their food.

    • @imalwaysright
      @imalwaysright ปีที่แล้ว +1

      because antibiotics can be fatal for koalas
