Great Muscle memory. I bet Thomas thinks up a beat at 3:00. And by 3:00:05 he's already doing it at 128 beats a second and it sounds awesome

You're amazing Thomas! Greetings from Italy. I'd love to have the opportunity to come to US for a drum camp with you. I hope one day to be able to pay for it. I use to watch all your videos and I love a lot to see your drum gear and how you setup your drums. I have to be honest, I prefer your home studio, it is amazing! Thank you for everything

What books do you use for drum exercises and rudiments? ...A hug . It gives me great pleasure to write to you. I've been following it for a few months. Greetings from Lima, Peru . Atte . Allan Loayza

Hi Thomas, these lessons are super useful, thank you. But a 9 stroke roll is, according to PAS, as you obviously know, 8 notes as doubles and a single accent. This can confuse beginners if you go against the already established nomenclature.
Furthermoreso, I think everyone feels the basic pattern you're using here as 8 singles plus a half paradiddle. So why not call it for what it is - symmetric, lead hand switching orchestration examples for 8 singles plus a half paradiddle. Anyways, me being persnickety aside, I love these lessons, thank you and I hope you continue with this series. There's never enough practical examples for rudiments use for drumset, so you're doing a great favour. Just try not to confuse your younger audience.

You can play any roll either "open" or "closed" and in this case it is and open roll played as singles. These lessons were uploaded not in order, in an earlier lesson I am only playing the 9-stroke roll before adding the "half paradiddle" and I stuck with the terminology of that earlier element in this exercise. I think I am actually saying "the 9th note being the first of the half-paradiddle" at one point either in this or one of the other lessons I uploaded along with this one. In any case, thank you for being so attentive and pointing these things out, I hope the lessons appeal to our peers out there and I always appreciate input and corrections if I get something wrong or misspeak in the filming of these.
