Dude I've been playing drums for 20+ years and still learn something every time I watch one of these videos. You have infinite drum knowledge. It can't be taught. It comes from experience.
Your creativity on the drumkit is simply refreshing! I use those flat flams for bomb blasts mostly, but I need to add some of your ideas to my repertoire...
@@KONAMAN100 That *Danger Money* album by *UK* sounded really good though as did that track *U.S. Drag* by the group *Missing Persons* On both Bozzio already played that roto tom kit. *Heavy Metal Be-Bop* by the *Brecker Brothers* sounds even better, but that was probably still his normal double bassdrum kit like the one he had when he still played with *Frank Zappa* I feel he sounded better during that era than he sounds now in the post millennium era. It's like he got more extreme. If you ever played his kit you'll notice that it really only works if you're technique is precise, otherwise it just sounds horrible. Maybe he's challenging himself and went extreme with it.
The pattern @ 3:30 reminds me of the first drum book I learned from, "Charles Dowd - A Funky Primer". Highly recommended. My drum teacher drilled this exact pattern from the book. Thanks for sharing Thomas!
Great lesson! The overhead camera, though...I don't know if the camera stand is on the drum riser, or if it's just vibrations travelling through the floor, but that bobbing is almost nausea-inducing.
Where's ratatoms? I want ratatoms! 😊 Btw. Sepultura Arise has really cool and fast flam tapping in the intro. At least in old live videos Cavalera days.

Love all your kits man. My fave still has to be between your old clear Sonor kit and the DW concert tom kit. Both were unique and sounded fantastic.
