I totally concur with your thoughts on this shoe. If you can get the shoe on a discount it is well worth it. My favorite super shoe this year closely followed by the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro. Both shoes were surprise packets as normally my preference is the Vaporfly closely followed by the Metaspeed Sky+. Excellent review and roundup of the features of the shoe.
Thanks for the kind words. I’m very excited about this shoe. I got them for 15% off. Would consider getting another pair if they go on sale at some point. They served me well in that 5k recently. Really interested to see how they work for me at the marathon distance in a few weeks. Hoping to run under 3:20:00 on 10/22. We’ll see how it goes.
Great review, I know these shoes have divided opinions. I'm a beginner runner (6 min km). I've got the EP3 ( 76km), Glycerin 20 (81km), and now the EE (, which I purchased on sale for €188 (€300 is the retail price here in Europe). I love my EP3, but after wearing the EE (24km), I prefer them, especially the wider toebox. I would say it feels way more comfortable than the EP3. Though I do like the snug Fit of the Ep3, it was too snug/narrow. The foam felt a bit firmer on the EE, which I actually really liked . I'm 6ft 211 lbs, and I've seen a lot of heavier people tend to like the EE better than lighter runners. When wearing one EP3 on one foot and one EE on the other, that's when I really understood the difference between the two shoes. Even though the EE is more aggressive in the geometry/carbon plate, it didn't bother me and the toe off felt so much better (weirdly felt more natural), and I actually felt that in the EP3, it was more apparent under my big toe (so not as comfortable)which might be because it's more narrow in the mid/fore foot . EE felt more stable, so it's a great idea to have the side walls even though it's not classed as a stability shoe. I know a lot of people have said this is an elite shoe for elite runners, but I know from my personal experience it's helped improve my times, and even though I'm only 24km in I can't wait to try a longer run like a half marathon ( only had for around a week and a half )
Awesome! Glad this shoe is working for you. Keep at it! I’m also on the larger side for a runner at 6’4” 230. So I also prefer firmer foams in shoes. When they get too soft, I sink in too much and lose efficiency. I also preferred the EE to the Pro 3. Recently, I’ve been enjoying the Pro 4. It Has a mix of PWR Run PB and HG. So it’s also not too soft. Has a tighter fitting upper than the EE though. The EE is definitely the faster shoe of those two. I did run a marathon on the EE in 2023 where I had some knee pain afterwards, which I have never had before. So I’m going to keep that shoe to 13.1 and under going forward. EE is a great shoe and I’m also not an elite runner.
Good that you got this color, because in that neon green it just doesn't look "unisex" at all, it looks 100% feminine. Of course one may not care and like dressing like Harry Styles, but I do care for whatever reason. Enjoy, sounds like a great shoe, but I can't justify it just yet, I told myself I need to bring down my 5K time to below 22min, or my 10K to below 47min to "deserve" a "supershoe"!
Don't think that way. Many runners do that to themselves. Go get yourself a pair of plated shoes and enjoy that feeling they give you when standing at the starting line...let alone the performance from said shoe.
@@therangersinger You may be right. I see it as a way to motivate myself to keep improving. I got down from 29 min to 23:30 for 5K and at the same time graduated from some old nimbus to Puma Deviate nitro 2 now, so I'm half way there:)
@@yianpap6093 I agree with @therangersinger, everyone has the right to wear a super shoe. I've seen some studies that have shown that ametuer runners can actually benefit more from super shoes than the elites. Elites already have perfect form and great efficiency. These types of shoes can help you to do your best. And they can give you confidence on race day to shoot for Personal Best. I've seen senior citizen runners wearing Vaporflys and running 10 minute miles. Haha. Do what makes you feel good. I love the Deviate Nitro 2. That is a great choice as a daily trainer that you can also race in. And you do have a carbon composite plate in that one. Also great cushioning and grip but a little heavy for race day (because of all that grippy rubber). You can often get last years model of a super shoe at a discount. I picked up a pair of vaporflys for under $150. The Adidas Adios Pro 3 also goes on sale a lot and can be had for under $180. So maybe don't pay full price of $250 or $275 for your first super shoe if you can't stomach the price. But see if you can find a pair that you'd like to try on sale. They might even help you to shave that goal time down a little bit in the process.
@yianpap6093 I didn't think the neon green was that feminine looking at least not compared to the Vaporfly 3 hot pink orange colorway but I understand what you are saying. I actually picked up a pair of Vaporfly 3 on a good discount earlier in the year with that colorway but had a hard time living with it as I felt it was shouting "Look at me! Look at me!". I ended up spray painting it matte black and it looks a treat now. Looks like a prototype shoe. 😊
Yeah. I’m not impressed with the colorways that the Endorphin Elite comes in. I have so many bright, flashy shoes, I didn’t want to go for the slime green. And the Mars colorway is just weird. I liked the white the best of the ones available. I think that ASICS and Hoka always have some interesting color options. I hope that they come out with another color option for this shoe.
Out of all the super shoes that have come out in the last year and a half the Endorphin Elite had the least amount of "hype time" compared to others. I think that it just a saucony thing. They make such great shoes but dont have that huge marketing like Nike or Adidas do. I know i may end up getting these when or if the price drops substantially on a random sale. In my mind this shoe would fall right inbetween my vaporfly and adios pro 3.
I think it might have been partly because so many people love the Endorphin Pro 3. The consensus seemed to be to save your money and get the Pro 3 instead of this shoe. I also saw some reviews saying that this shoe was really only for elites and everyone else should stick to the Pro 3. I am not an elite. I'd consider myself an intermediate runner. I'm not a mid-packer, but I'm nowhere near the sub-elites. And this shoe still works great for me. I think you nailed it with the two shoes that you mentioned. The Vaporfly is my favorite race shoe for short races and the Adios Pro 3 is my favorite for long ones. This shoe is almost like what would happen if you combine the best elements of those two shoes. It can excel at short or long races and both marathon and 5k pace. It's more stable than the Vaporfly and better at going long. It's lighter than the Adios Pro 3 and feels more propulsive. I'll probably take this shoe, the Vaporfly, Adios Pro 3 and Hoka Rocket X 2 for a comparison sometime after I complete my marathon on 10/22. I was able to get these for 15% off (but it's still an expensive shoe). I'll definitely be on the look out for these to go on sale to get another pair. I'd like for Saucony to come out with some more colorways. I didn't want the Slime green one and the Mars color is like a Rose wine and orange. A strange choice. I thought that the white was the best looking option. This is actually a shoe that I don't want them to change much in the next version. Everything about this one is working for me.

I did need a 12.5 though to get the length that I need in this shoe.
