I’ve been learning Mandarin for two years and am just starting to learn Japanese after having such an amazing trip to Japan this summer! Your channel seems to be an excellent resource for me to mine. I’ve been doing my Mandarin studies on TH-cam as well.
Yomu Sensei, Japanese people usually use causal Japanese for daily conversation, and is very difficult for me to understand, please can you make a video by using Japanese causal conversation . Thanks
Hello, Yuko! I'm a language learner, as you can tell from my name. I love learning new languages and Japanese have always been on my wish list. However, I always felt something was missing in the courses I followed and in the books that I have.....until I found you! I enrolled in the free mini course and I must say...I'm so happy I've found you! Will definitely become one of your students!
Hello Yuko sensei. Regarding the pronunciation of arigatou. You say that it is not aRigatou with the 'R' pronounced as it would be in English... but the example that you give as to how to pronounce it correctly sounds almost identical to how you say not to pronounce it. I think that I do hear the 'R' pronounced slightly like the English letter 'L' (aLigatou). Am I correct in my assumption or can anybody clarify the pronunciation for me. Thanks!
What if you already met the person, then you meet again but actually you forget about that person and you still say "hajimemashite" anyway because you think it's your first time meet with them? But actually the other person remember you. That's would be an awkward moment isn't it? 😅
In this video it's written ko-n-ni-chi-ha instead of ko-n-ni-chi-wa. I saw translations elsewhere too and saw both of them are correct but ha and wa sound so different, why is it written like that ?
Love the video. I am slightly confused by some of the spelling, such as konnichiwa, is said こんいちわ, but in this video, is spelled こんいちいは. I hoped I was missing something?
I just looked it up, apparently, The subject particle "wa" is spelled as the hiragana は (ha). This is the only time when we write は (ha) and pronounce it as "wa".

What about 'good afternoon' informally or 'hello' informally? Is it just left out so that nothing is said?
Ohayou
sensei why is the O in "O ha yo O" different from each other?
Because it's 'ohayoU'

R is pronounced rougher compared to English R which is softer. Imo, japanese R is pronounced the same as Spanish
Try saying "Eddie", and use that sound "addigatou".

Arigato gozaimasu! I have a question what is the meaning of Doozo yoroshikuonegaishimasu?
Thanks, nice to meet you.
what does douzo yoroshiku means?
Hard to translate exactly, but something like "please favour me", or "please treat me well".

@@YukoSensei thank you very much for replying yuko sensei.
Basically "konnichi wa" is "as for this day..." and is a stub of a phrase, like "good night" is a stub meaning "You have a good night".
