Astral Chain is phenomenal indeed. I made the mistake of selling my copy and then had a really hard time finding one to buy when I realized my mistake.
Rpg's. Anything Atlus becomes desirable, Shmups can get silly - M2 shot triggers will be expensive down the linethe Aleste collection etc. I think the Switch will have tons of expensive games down the line, due to the limited physical releases. Buy what you want to play and don't worry about down the line too much.
Any Atelier games are typically harder to find a while after launch. Fun game series with an alchemy/ item crafting mechanic. Also I believe Blue Reflection is from the same developer. Another fun game.
Oooh these are great suggestions!! Thank you so much for sharing! I've been curious about the atelier games so I'll keep a good eye out, and I've never heard of blue reflection I wanna look into it
I had a really hard time trying to find the atelier dusk trilogy earlier last year. The game was going for such a ridiculously high price at the time, but at some point around April-May 2022 Playasia got some stock of the English version.
Octopath Traveler is already there. I also think Cruis'N Blast, UltraAge , NieR, and the Ori Collection are heading that way. SNK Heroines is one I watching with interest as it seems like there aren't that many copies out there and no interest in reprinting.
There are so many games to collect its so overwhelming. Most of this list my immediate reaction was to scratch them off as a loss but Pocky and Rocky feels like a must! Definitely will keep my eyes peeled for that! Great video!
Well... If we go to the indies the list would be almost endless... Like you said it there are sooo many indie games with limited copies that it's crazy
For sure dude, good video. Any waifu game, JRPGS, dungeon crawlers, are also a good bet. Sadly im not reading a bunch of newsletters from these devs so some people are way more in on the loop.
Great video! This has me thinking of picking up Ace Attorney sooner rather than later. Would love to see you do a follow-up video with more potentially rare games. There’s an absolute treasure trove of gems on the Switch! 🙂
I had many many games that planned on talking about but I wanted to keep the video at a shorter length haha! There will most definitely be a follow up!! Thank you for watching!
2 games that I'm thinking will get more expensive are Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. The reason I think UA3 will be more expensive is because its a switch exclusive and it's published by nintendo themselves so anyone going for a complete nintendo published set will want it. Also I don't think it sold much more than 2 mil units which is pretty low in contrast to how many switches are out there.
The Atelier Sophie Trilogy and Ryza 1 are hard to find over here (so far no luck for me), their part 2 versions are super expensive. There are lots of Fire Emblem 3 Houses though, including the used one.
Alliance alive is an NIS title that I don’t see talked about a lot but is going for some really good money especially sealed. Also monster boy and the cursed kingdom would be one to always have your eye out for!:)
I think Bayonetta 2 and 3 will become rare since they are only available on nintendo consoles. Klonoa will be hard to find as well as Digimon survive. Hyrule Warriors difinitive is also hard to find.
The thing is that for the most part A lot of switch games will be valuable but rare. Some will hold there value more than others and some will be expensive and be way more valuable than expected example being Samurai Showdown is 80-100 and I passed on it thinking can get it later on for 15-20 on clearance like Street Fighter 30th anniversary edition is right now. Other games where people swear will be hard to find or valuable are still not so even after going out of print. There are some genres that age and hold their value more than others but it’s a gamble so best bet is to get the games you like to play, keep them hold onto them and resell them if no longer wanting to play them and might get lucky and get more than what you paid for them. Keep expectations in check when going after so called “rare” and valuable games unless you want to make a business out of it then well it is like any other business venture, can either win or lose.
You know what game will be Rare to Jump Force Deluxe Edition. Not just NS version but PS4 and Xbox One since they shut down last year so you should buy it before it's too late.
hey man! pretty cool video. I would like to recommend the following titles: monster boy and the cursed kingdom, wonder boy and the dragon's trap, the silver case 2425, okami, abzu, grandia I&II (japan ver. with english support), Ys origins, oxenfree, indivisible, child of light/valiant hearts, pikmin 3, onimusha warlords, the wonderful 101, deemo, voez, super mario 3d all stars, eastward, sakuna of rice and ruin, cris tales, i am setsuna, lost sphear, persona 5 strykers, transistor, dust an elisyan tail, record of lodoss war deedlit in wonder labyrinth, syberia trilogy, samurai shodown, gone home.
Funny thing, I just got Astral Chain 1 month before this video was upload. I found it at a local video game store and I was lucky that I got it, I payed $50 for it so I think it's gonna be either $100 or $200 in the future.
@@Linkachu33 I would also keep an eye on any smaller/independent games that got retail releases. Signalis, Tormented Souls, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, Hotshots Racing, Time on Frog Island etc. Also bear in mind that even games with large print runs can become expensive if there are lots of people who want to buy them (just look at any Pokémon game). A good tip is to look at what young people are playing today. In 15-20 years they will get nostalgic and start buying up all their childhood games, and the prices will sky rocket. I'll be surprised if Bendy and the Ink Machine doesn't become valuable.
@@rooty @rooty I'm absolutely with you there, I feel like indies are a shoe in for games that will become rare so I would be mentioning an endless list. I went with more first party titles and RPGs in this video. I did recently do a sequel to this video. But I want to do more because switch collecting is really popular! Pokemon and stuff are definitely going to be expensive but that's way down the road, I'm wanting to focus on stuff that's currently becoming less available hard to get and becoming rare! Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts! It's appreciated!
Really surprised you didn't mention TMS: FE#, or Game Builder Garage, or even say Ring Fit Adventure. Most games you mentioned are readily available on other platforms (I know your point is that these are physical releases on Switch), but a lot of the games you mentioned are also the worst version to play being the Switch versions (Octopath being one of them as example.) Good picks, but I really disagree with SMTV, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, or any of the Xenoblade Chronicles Games, those all sold extremely well and it feels like the judgement of them becoming rare is based on the past when the gaming industry wasn't as the forefront as it is now. All in all, solid video! Thanks for sharing!
All the games you mentioned are great, I have a long list which includes games you mentioned for more videos because there are lots of games I wanna talk about, some more than others. As far as the ones you disagree with I mentioned these based on past reception but mostly these games are already being harder to find as is, Especially Xenoblade with the exception of 3 none of the games are available at MSRP. Thank you very much for the input
All SMT and Xenoblade games definitely do drastically fluctuate in price, Switch releases included. You must not have been a fan of those series' in the past, to have not noticed.
@@ltb1345 I’ve been a fan of them for years, my issue is that price does not determine rarity. I don’t think Switch releases are gonna be rare any time soon.
Watching this video in the fiuture. Definitely grab the new Ace Attorney Apollo Justice trilogy that just came out. Awesome games and physical copy only on switch.
*LINKY POO BACK AGAIN WITH ANOTHER BANGER!?* 👀👏🏼 Great video dude! Really surprised to see some of a few of the 2017-2018 first parties like ARMS & Fire Emblem Three House on here. I haven’t seen them in store physically in quite a long while, and they’re starting to get less available to cop online. This is gonna hurt the wallet a bit, but it’ll be worth having these gems into the collection before they are all gone! 😤👏🏼
YESSIR!!! Thank you for watching LD!!! and yeah man! They're really starting to fade into obscurity quietly so I thought I should bring some noise to it so people don't miss out!! Keep and eye out for these games for sure!
1. Super Mario 3D All-Stars. One of the stores in my countrg had it for $44. I waited because I didnt have money and since they had a lot of stock and now suddenly it's all gone and the price is up to $80
Loved the concept for this video! Pretty unique! Since the switch is still the “current console” for Nintendo it’s weird to think ahead, but it’s true some day all these games will be so hard to come by! I’m so glad I traded DK tropical freeze for Astral Chain 😂 and glad I own FE Three Houses cuz I knowwww how hard FE Awakening was to get when that came out! I’ll have to check out the pocky and rocky game, and still eventually want to dive into Xenoblade, so still quite a few games I gotta buy! Great video sir!
Thank you very much!! It went through many different rough ideas like games for your collection, etc, etc. then I landed on this idea! When doing some research for the video, It really put into perspective how old the switch is 👴 That's also a crazy trade! I feel bad for whoever was on the other end of that trade lol. And definitely jump on Xenoblade they get harder to find by the day and 10/10 games!!
@@Linkachu33 Same here. I've been working on all "the hard to find/rare" games video and gaming collection on my channel because I've been buying so many games from Play Asia.
You forgot to mention Pokémon Legends Arceus, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. Pokémon games are known to go up in value and if there is any Pokémon game that will go up in value it will most likely be legends arceus and the mystery dungeon one and probably the let’s go games.
These are excellent games to mention! I'm gonna be honest they really didn't cross my mind but you're absolutely right! If I do another video like this I will be sure to mention pokemon, especially mystery dungeon! As well as the let's go games with the pokeball especially
@@Linkachu33 also the 29 dollar Bayonetta 1 port coming on September 30th could most likely go up in Value alongside the remake of advanced wars 1 and 2 which will most likely go up in value although it should release soon enough once Nintendo decides the right time for it. There’s also persona 5 Royal that’s coming out for the switch which will include all of the dlc in the cart I think and the HD2D dragon quest 3 remake which was announced a year ago and may release in 2023. I think any of the HD2D games will go up in value.
The physical copy of klonoa phantasy reverie series. I feel like it's going to become expensive someday. I have it for ps5, switch and Xbox series x. Great collection. Hopefully klonoa 3 happens.
I don’t think so considering like Cuphead, it’s a retail release and not limited to something like Limited Run. Sure, we saw retail Xenoblade Chronicles 2 become incredibly hard to find, but Klonoa is one of those legacy IP’s that boasts a strong history and following. I wouldn’t count on Bandai to not restock/reprint additional copies once it starts to becomes harder to find.
It's irrelevant whether or not it's a retail release. If it sold poorly they won't reprint it, and the more popular the series is, the more people will be fighting over copies in the future. How do you think any game became rare and expensive before LRG existed? Are you ten years old?
I'm curious if there's a preference for North American releases over other regions. Some games are not that rare if we are willing to buy European releases for example. I've even been buying a few Middle East region releases of 3DS games that feel the same as the NA release. I guess the usual problem is related to censorship and other modifications, but I'm not sure if there are other issues; apart from hardware compatibility of course.
Regardless of whether I alle or storage in the list of games, I think your video die nooit succeeds in explaining why you think these will be rare games to find.
The collecting craze is at its peak. It only got big because of TH-cam most likely all these titles will be cheap in the future due to digital era that is taking over
I would really love for that to be the case! Collecting is tough and costs alot of money and some games feel literally impossible to get your hands on without breaking the bank
Idk if I’m missing something but all the games he said are hard to find I can get easy and cheap, for example torna the golden country is £32 on Amazon, not £200 like he said?
The point of the video is games that MIGHT hold high physical value down the road and are harder to obtain even now. This isn't a truth for everywhere in the world but this video was made from the perspective of a Canadian and is now an old video. At the time of the making of this video torna has been OOP for over a year. Hope that clears some things up for you, thanks for watching!
i think i going to cry 😭 i jus saw this pocky and rocky and its so beauty why did no one tell me ? im probably going to buy it i am crying right now 😭... its also just 26 bucks on amazon what the... 😭😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺😢😢😢😖😖😖 i m going to buy i an crying no joke
Gotta say…..disagree with everything on this list except maybe Pocky & Rocky. The Switch market is very highly printed 95% of the time and even then the ones that have low prints are limited or held back to fake scarcity.
@@Linkachu33 Zero Chance Nier is rare in the future. Now you are just reaching. Lol. The majority of platinum games aren't rare or uncommon. Nier was just announced to have sold 7 million units. Switch sold 110+ consoles. There is an anime coming out which means more units will be sold. There is absolutely nothing going for this game to make it "rare" lol
these r all popular games. what about the games no one has heard of at all. there's plenty of those. will they becom valuable ? such as the limited print companies. I know Switch has to many games to talk about. but the games ur showing r much well known then 100's of other games that no one even know like u most likely.
I'll probably do another video talking about more niche games, no point in talking about limited print they are too rare and always end up being waaay overpriced. But I have a better list of games in mind stuff that you could probably see on a store shelf or possibly on a select retailers but not that often
So he used the same list except for a handful of games and the youtube title is “almost” the same?? 😂 You just contradicted yourself. Look up “rare nintendo switch games” and i promise you there are a TON of similar videos. If Xenoblade 2 is rare then chances are everyone is going to have it on their list.
@@NintenCisco I checked over 20x rare list video on youtube and his list is about 90% the same as from the one youtuber. He copied the list and added 2-3 games of his own there is no doubt in my mind. there is also no other video that have almost the same list as him.
@@takeyourtime3328 I just checked because I wanted to see if you were right. BRUH You're dead wrong! Literally only games that youtuber talked about that were on this list were Astral Chain, Xenoblade, and Octopath Traveler. All three of those series/games are WELL KNOWN for being rare either due to how they are stocked in stores currently or based off their history of going rare. Fire Emblem Three houses isn't that rare but due to the history of Fire Emblem those games are always so hard to find which is why this guy mentioned it. He knows his stuff. This list isnt the same at all dude.
Adding to companies like limited run, third party sellers ,Nintendo tax prices and people fear mongering in new games it's another ugly face of gaming that sucks the fun out of everything.
2 years later, none of these games are hard to find.
Now you can just get them all for half the priced 😂

ATTACK OF TITAN FINAL BATTLE RARE!? cause it has the game 1 and 2?
NICE CONTENT, CONGRATS..
Try collecting for ps vita.
What about miitopia or wario ware , I feel like those bad boys might rise up in price?
Those are great choices!! I am planning on mentioning them in a future video
Good... already got them all so i can sleep :D
The collecting craze is at its peak. It only got big because of TH-cam most likely all these titles will be cheap in the future due to digital era that is taking over
I would really love for that to be the case! Collecting is tough and costs alot of money and some games feel literally impossible to get your hands on without breaking the bank
I love arms.
Pocky & Rocky is censored in th US. It''s best to import the Japanese version as it has English and it's not censored!
Oooh I didn't even know that! Thank you for sharing
@@Linkachu33 Sure thing!
@@Linkachu33 Sure thing! It's cheap on Play-Asia :)
Almost every copy of Astral Chain available on ebay is below MSRP.
Oh that's awesome! I was looking through Canadian eBay and it wasn't the case
Hope that clears some things up for you, thanks for watching!
dont worry nothing will becokme rare as long as pirates exist alive forever
This video is for physical collectors, digital and other means are also viable but not when it comes to owning the physical cartridge
If you can still get them, they are not and won’t become rare
i think i going to cry 😭 i jus saw this pocky and rocky and its so beauty why did no one tell me ? im probably going to buy it i am crying right now 😭... its also just 26 bucks on amazon what the... 😭😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺😢😢😢😖😖😖 i m going to buy i an crying no joke
Buy it!! It will be worth it!!
Gotta say…..disagree with everything on this list except maybe Pocky & Rocky. The Switch market is very highly printed 95% of the time and even then the ones that have low prints are limited or held back to fake scarcity.
What about the limited run games, like indie titles that get a limited amount of copies made. I think those are rare
Pocky & Rocky Reshrined is sequel not a remake.
It's more like a psuedo remake of the first game
@@Linkachu33 while it may feel like the original it is actually a sequel.
So… all the ones that are incredibly common and have sold thousands/millions of copies? Okay.
Nuh uh!
“Platinum games like blah blah blah” does mention NieR how dare u (yes square Enix but platinum was involved.(
There are lots of great platinum games to mention! It was definitely on my mind when talking about platinum
First half of the list (first party games) no chance; second half very much so!
Worlds End Club
Another great game to mention!
No u
Okay I will
Well, they are all free to play with Yuzu on PC or Android so don’t spent too much money on free stuff.
Most of these games are not that rare.
Maybe?
these r all popular games. what about the games no one has heard of at all. there's plenty of those. will they becom valuable ? such as the limited print companies.
Copy cat. PlayerEssence made this list and you just used it (except 2-3 games) even the youtube title is almost the same
I have not seen that video so I guess that just further solidifies these games might be rare!
@@NintenCisco I am not talking just about 3 games. I am talking about 8-10 games. Check the youtuber PlayerEssence
Omori
without SENSE!!
Fear mongering
Not if you're a fan of any of these series, and know their history of flucuating in price.
Adding to companies like limited run, third party sellers ,Nintendo tax prices and people fear mongering in new games it's another ugly face of gaming that sucks the fun out of everything.
🅿🆁🅾🅼🅾🆂🅼 🤭
First you need money kidding lol
This is true lolol
