Another great video! I own both the LLL 8-e HCB version (a ltm special edition) and the Elcan ltm. Unfortunately, both are broken. The 8-element broke about 4-5 months after just regular, everyday use and the Elcan leaked a lot of grease onto my friend’s M11 pretty much after a month or so. I was very close in also ordering their 50mm f1.2 but for that price and quality check, unfortunately not gonna happen. Their 28mm 9-element also been on my mind since I, like you, shoot a lot of pressed film. This lens would theoretically fit the bill better then my Voigtlander 28 Nokton vm v2. It’s told that it got less contrast but from your photos it’s hard to tell. Looks almost on par with the ASPH? I also use the old 21mm f3.4 Super-angulon. Really enjoyed this type of video to bring some perspective of things. Really tired of my g.a.s. Did you try shooting against a light source with the LLL on any of the shots that you didn’t show? Keep it up!
@@MGraslund I know one person who shot an early prototype and then the production copy of the 28, and he says the production copy blows away the prototypes in terms of 2.8 performance. I put it on an M10 briefly, and was very impressed with the wide open sharpness. Again, basically like my ASPH. I did have one shot that may have shown a bit of flare, but I wasn’t using the hood. I didn’t really flare test it. … thanks for the comment!
@@DanMars27 Good to know. You´r one of the first people speaking about the final version with at least some experience, not just guessing, which makes in so much more interesting. Not sure about me buying it though.
@@DanMars27 Yeah, This got a bit crazy. Haven´t heard anybody else experience anything like it. The brass and tight tolerance made me belive that the built quality was up to par with the best from Voigtlander/old Leica lenses, but from my real life expericence from everyday use, it´s not been close based on the leaking grease/broken rf. focus. But i´m just one guy, might just gotten some from bad/early batches.
@@MGraslund I had the Elcan for a couple of years and had zero issues with mine. Otherwise I have only had short stints with the LLL lenses. I sold my Elcan only because I love my Leica Rigid and they are quite similar. And the aperture nub wasn’t my favorite. Have you tried reaching out to LLL about your issues? I think YYe is now working on LLL lenses, maybe. I don’t have real confirmation of that, just hear say.
how is it going up to now bro, so sharp tho
