    2:50 *"Why do I like this!?"*
    _Me, a metalhead, after every video I watched when first discovering them._
    Their song styles are very diverse and can't be narrowed down to a single genre, or even three. But, more than that, they are a very visual group. Their choreography they craft themselves for each song really helps to pull you in. They are, in a word, *captivating*. So much talent and charisma you can't help but love them.

    MOOOOORE!! They're such an interesting group, really bursting with creativity and this humorous anti-idol energy and drawing from varied influences... So fresh! 💥💥

    Tokyo Calling (which seems to have an additional Japanese pun on 東京降臨, or Descent on Tokyo, as by goddesses) was released just in time for their first big arena concert in Tokyo, at the end of October, and the start of their first North American tour. It's less of a song to listen to, and more of a chant to pump up the audience at their live performances. I can say from experience, it works! It's a great video, too, which captures their inspirational philosophy and goofy wit. They jump nimbly from genre to genre, working with a variety of producers in hip-hop, metal, bubble-gum, nostalgic JPop and believe it or not, two albums worth of honest-to-god jazz. They've been at this for nine years now, and just broke out from the relative underground to the mainstream in the past year. They do multiple videos for most songs, and often their stripped down dance practices are the most compelling. "Shortlist" recommendations: Giri Giri, Nai Nai Nai, Seishun Wo Kirisaku Hado, Otona Blue (esp. The First Take version), Shiken Zenya, Maningen, Koi No Shadanki, Koi Geba and Mayoeba Toutoshi.

      I would have to disagree with you a bit about saying Tokyo Calling is less of a song to listen to. Not only is the message behind the song something that everyone should be listening to but you should also be listening to it because it's a way to pump up the audience.

    I SHOULDN'T like AG. I'm a 45 year old punk, and, self-confessed music snob, who has never had the slightest interest in any type of pop. But, their charisma, attitude, extreme musical diversity, and, just sense of fun have made me a fan.

      AG is basically a punk, rock, dance group. These ladies, basically were to be an idol group, but went in the opposite direction. These ladies have souls, and didn’t want to take the easy path. They play well off each other and each bring something to the table. Whenever I see them, I think of them as subversive because we are dressed like school girls, but you know answers, but we change the questions.

      I'm going to copy paste the comment I wrote in another video: I've been a die-hard metalhead for 20+ years. I had never heard the name 'Atarashii Gakko!' until 6 days ago, when I super randomly opened a Twitch channel that was going to live stream a concert of AG! (at Primavera Sound, BCN). I decided to check them out for 5 minutes. I ended up watching the entire show, completely mesmerized. I've been watching videos of them ever since (that's how I've landed here), to the point that I started to doubt my sanity. I feel a bit relieved to know that I'm not the only metal fan who loves them, and not the only person almost obsessed with them.

    unexpected that you react and enjoy ATG‼︎‼︎
    all their uniqe choreography was made by themselves.
    many videos of live performance in US are posted on you tube.

    Like someone else in the comments, I generally listen to J-Rock/Metal (Band-Maid, Hanabie, etc), but AG! is one of my favorites. Not only do they create all their own choreography (and have done so since they formed in 2015 between the ages of 13-16), but their live shows are a spectacle you have to see. They are incredible live. Besides MVs (I would recommend "Seishun Wo Kirisake Hado" as it has some Beastie Boys and punk pop elements) be sure to check out some of their choreo practices. Suffice to say that AG is not only in their own lane, but on their own freeway. And Suzuka is one of the best front persons performing today, regardless of nationality or style of music.

      Agree 100%
      Saw then live on their North American tour recently, and absolutely these girls are top tier master performers. 4 Japanese girls that barely speak English at an English speaking venue and they had every single person there fully engaged in the show.
      Suzuka is a genuine rock star! She crowd surfs, she gets up on top of the bar, she loves interacting with the audience. But there is no weak link in this group. All 4 are just so on point that they can sing and dance and perform for the crowd without missing a finger placement or facial expression in their choreo.
      Even if you're not typically into J-Pop or idol groups AG! is worth checking out for sure.

Check out Seishun Wo kirisaku wado by AG and then watch beastie boys “so whatcha want”. Theyre clearly inspired by BB. Saw AG live a couple weeks ago, incredible show! AG have an amazing energy! if you want a taste of what they're like live, you can try their live performance of OTONABLUE on The First Take (although it's a bit mild compared to their conecerts). if you liked their choreography, you can check out their choreography videos, like the one for Giri Giri. hope to see you react to them again soon!

    I watched a Japanese Reactor explaining that the song is actually a protest against the Work Culture in Japan 🇯🇵, specifically Tokyo. The Calling is actually “Kourin”…but cleverly can be pronounced “Calling”. I love their bravery in singing about the toxic work culture. I appreciate their tenacity and unique sound. Thank you for reacting to these Young Artists from Japan. 🎧🎼✨🎶🙌🏽

    Dog, check out the choreography / dance practice video. Strangely, it's more impressive. The music video is creative, but it doesn't capture quite how much their movements capture the feeling. The part you say you love is exactly why you'll love it.

    I have never seen this video. It is different from what they usually do. Not actually one of my favorites.
    They are actually VERY good dancers. And singers. Not obvious from this video.
    They are also quite fun. Suzuka, the main singer is also kind of impish.
    Lots of their stuff is centered around school. Maybe obvious from their clothes.
    They also have several styles of videos
    * Movies
    * Dance practice
    * Choreography
    * Live
    I am a bit weak for their Dance practice and choreography stuff.
    Their most famous video is the "First take" of "Otonablue". It is charming.
    You get extra points if you turn on lyrics for this one. They are interesting.
