Atarashii Gakko (New School in Japanese) is one of my favourite jpop groups. Their music is very tongue in cheek & contains sometimes not so subtle social commentary. They write their own music, do their own choreography & help plan their own music videos.
Excellent and accurate observations, but just a little clarification, which isn't intended to minimize their talent and contributions. It's just me being anal. They have written lyrics on a few songs, and have collaborated with others, especially Money Mark. But a lot is fully written by producers who regularly work with them (Yonky, H Zett M, Kenta Matsukuma, etc.). And all the music accompanying the lyrics is written by the producers, though they might contribute ideas and sounds, like they did with Money Mark when creating the Snacktime EP during their California stay a few years ago. Regardless, they are super talented and continue to grow creatively, as they've been doing for 8 years, since they formed as young teens.
The best AG videos are their dance practice videos, because it shows off their unusual and energetic choreography. Though from a videographer perspective, "Koi Geba" (love revolt) would be a good one. After that "Pineapple Kryptonite" is cheesy but still entertaining. Then maybe "Night Before the Exam" for a single take video.
No idea who these are but great, catchy tune but I'm with you this video is fire.🔥🔥🔥🔥 The concept, how it was shot with the model city and the dance choreography was all executed so well, absolutely love this.❤
Thank u Jo 🙏🏽❤️💯 Yes I agree, the choreography in between the building was sooooo dope! All I want to do now is have someone create a model city set like this for my next music video! 🤞🏽 I can make this concept work for a music video of mine lol
@@joeesparks7 This is where I wish there wasn't an ocean between us, I'd love to take up this challenge as I used to do to scale models. Look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future! 💖🤩💖
Not only was it just scale models, but they set them up on the roof of a medium sized building, so that the sky and background buildings and birds are real.
That group is different to the others group, this group so special, My two favorite on this decade are Atarashii Gakko! from Japan and The Warning from Mexico, a Rock Band.
Great reaction :) Some Atarashii Gakko! i'd recommend for you (i love the choreo versions but, like someone else also said, from a videographer's standpoint the official videos are probably more interesting): - Suki Lie - Seishun Wo Kirisaku Hado - Pineapple Kryptonite - Night Before the Exam
I just looks like they look the model set outside to shoot on a nice day and knew how and when to line up the sun to get those shots. It even allows you to get the parallax shots with real buildings in the far background. The Beasties influence is obviously on full display here. They have been working with BB collaborator Money Mark lately, but I'm not sure if he's producing on this track specially.
I've really loved this group after finding them earlier this year, and I LOVE your reaction to this video. I really hope you check more of their videos out! They even have a tribute to Beastie Boys' Intergalactic, which really was just great.
if you watch clearly all monster (kaiju) movies.. even the special effect like sentai (power rangers).. those monster represent declining of society.. and that was this MV giving homage..
That opening scene made me think of Attack on Titan (anime) - which if you haven’t seen it yet Joe E, I’d highly recommend checking it out (just not with your kiddos around lol).
Yeah the language barrier sometimes slows my connection to music too...thankfully this video was dope enough to carry me through ya know👊🏽💯 thanks for watching and commenting🙏🏽😔
"Kosei ya Jiyuu de Hamidashiteiku". ("With individuality and freedom, I'm gonna stick out".) Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders (New School Leaders) began in 2015. They've been known internationally as "ATARASHII GAKKO!" (New School) since they signed with 88rising in early 2021. That's when I first started hearing about them. The single for 'NAINAINAI' was their worldwide debut. They are Suzuka, Kanon, Rin and Mizyu. Many of their older songs have a Jazz fusion feel, especially the tracks created with H ZETTRIO. There's been more of a Hip-Hop influence on some of the more recent songs. The EP, 'SNACKTIME' was produced by Money Mark, best known for his work with The Beastie Boys. You should definitely check out 'Pineapple Kryptonite', one of the singles from that EP. Although Suzuka is the main (lead) singer, they do have songs featuring the other members singing lead.
They design their own choreo and do these same moves live, more or less. Like go see them on Kimmel or on tour. But on tour, what Suzuka (the lead) does is she spawns somewhere in the middle of the floor and crowdsurfs back to the stage while she's singing. The title is a bit of a pun. In Japanese, it's written as "Tokyo Kourin," meaning a visitation or descent upon Tokyo. Their best known song, Otonablue, the title is a pun on a Japanese phrase meaning "Adult Shake/Swing/Wave."
