So sad. Something happened to this family and its so sad to see how others have treated it. I agree with Colin that ransacking and destroying the items and property are so unnecessary! I have watched many of your videos and I have been completely impressed with how respectful you all are of the homes and properties that you explore. There must be someone who knows the backstory, lets hope they see this and step forward.
This is such a shame that people have to destroy other people's property even though the places are abandoned, your very respectful, thank you for a fantastic video
The most upsetting discovery was the photographs of their family getting left behind. Many families who lose all their possessions in a house fire or other terrible circumstance often say: "Well we can replace the furniture - but we can't replace those memories". It was quite emotional to see that.
@14:48 As you get the feeling it may have been around Christmas time you show what looks like a child's advent calendar. Shame you didn't check, it may have given you the exact day of the month. And one of the best things to check for a date would have been the milk in the fridge.👍
Hi Colin what a amazing place, can't believe they literally left nearly everything, love to know the reason why the family abandoned this lovely house, great explor thanks for sharing
I can only imagine that, if in 2016/2018 there were children in this house, they would not even be adults now! All those memories left behind, so much evidence of possible fun...
Wow! I can’t believe that a mansion house like this has been left abandoned. What a find, with so many lovely items left behind.I hope that it doesn’t get discovered by the wrong people who will loot and trash it. The wine alone, would be worth a lot of money.I would love to know the back story to this one. It has been a beautiful place in its day.A fantastic video, thanks for showing us round.
Beautiful house, feels so sad you ask yourself why? The kids play equipment was very cool. All the family memories just left behind, what happened it would be good to get history behind the house.
Found the mansion on rightmove, someone payed £1,850,000 for it in 2003. It was listed for sale again in 2015, house and grounds were well kept and and in goof condition at that time. Probably a £4 million pound property left to ruin. Irish owner of the property born 1958 had a large railway construction business which went bankrupt in 2013.
I very rarely comment on TH-cam videos, but I had to today, I've watched a lot of TH-cam explorers, but I find you to be the most respectful of all when exploring people's properties and telling the sad stories...this is why I had to comment and subscribe to your channel, well done and merry Christmas to you.

That's heart breaking. All those kiddy toys, the trampoline ... and wow, that place is pink!' I've just found your channel and you do a nice and respectful job taking us interesting places. What on earth happens for people to leave toys and all ... I know sometimes places are leaky and they're told to leave everything due to possible contamination, but ???
I've seen this place online before but not such a detailed explore as yours i hadn't seen the out buildings before so that was nice to see. Strange that the family left everything including thier clothes 🤔
Watched this about 20 times now, I love it. I recon they had a few MASSIVE grow ops in the OSB sheds prior to departure. With that size, we're looking at about 4,000 pots so a major operation
I saw another video from this location and the place looked very nice because the crazy people hadn’t been there to completely ransack it yet!! BUT, the hair on the floor in the loft bedroom was already there! It’s sad to see how quickly this place went downhill due to disrespectful people going in and destroying everything in their path!! Great video though, I really enjoyed it!🥰💖💖💖
Can't believe you didn't look at those Xmas cards, they would have said..."and all the best for ****(year)". Would have nailed the exact time it was abandoned.
At 12:26 the gas meter and electric meter that you see are pre-payment meters ie you go to the shop or pay point hand your gas card\key over and tell them how much you want added. These meters are mostly put in by Utility suppliers because the customer can't afford a quarterly bill or has a debt due to none payment of bills. The family that lived in the house were probably evicted due to debts
Definitely looks like it was abandoned in the mid 00’s and someone had been squatting at some point (in the room with the hair) explaining the newer items kicking about
Another great explore. I wonder of the story behind the abandonment of this house, like so many others. I know that some in my family would be at a great loss without their gaming systems or other cherished items for that matter. It saddens me to see a once thriving home/ household trashed, forgotten and left to rot and decay. I guess that we viewers will never know the full story on this one and so many others. Be safe and well, Cheers from the States
What a fascinating house would love to know what the story is behind this house and how it’s been left abandoned for so long Another amazing video Colin 👍 and the obligatory fridge opening at the end 🤮🤮
The victorian lime plastered walls let the house breath they absorb mosture in the air when there's too much and give it out when there's too little so better for health. You can salvage bricks in one piece when they were used with lime mortar unlike todays built with cement mortar.
That was incredibly strange, why was that house left by the occupiers so suddenly? It could be to do with debt or god forbid something happened to the family. Sad seeing it like that as you can see it was once beautiful. Great find, fab explore 🌹
This house would not have been abandoned this untidy. It has obviously been visited many times since by people with little respect for the property. I wonder, therefore, why so much alcohol has been left behind?
That really was unbelievable how much stuff is in that house, how big the house was And it would be very interesting to know why the occupants just suddenly disappeared that the look of it
When you looked round the 'chill room' 12m 24s the electric meter in the cupboard in the corner was lit up so the power must still be on, to the house!
Hello, I'm French but I love watching your videos even if I don't understand everything. Very rich people with several children had to live here. What have they become ? Too bad thieves went before you ...
In the last fridge you looked in there was a 2 pint milk carton so whoever lived there last was on there own most probably! Plus there was not much food in it . It looks like the kids got old enough to move out and then someone lived there on yhere own for a bit and then ........
Great explore, I think the family left there more than five years ago, would a place get that overgrown in that time, I recon they left and squatters were there for a few years, bathrooms look like nineties stuff
25:13 Hard Brexit threat to €5 pension hike - Independent newspaper (Ireland) 6 Jul 2019. The owners of the house were an Irish family. The house had not been vacant for very long at all! It all points to some kind of mid-life crisis. A bankruptcy, possibly a family break-up. Somebody who perhaps came from humble beginnings, probably never went to university (not many books around) but never the less built a successful business empire in construction. Unfortunately they took big risk in business which ultimately did not pay off and probably also lived beyond their means. Alcohol may have been big a factor. "Normal" drinkers just don't have that much booze lying around even if they are rich.
Personally I think its a good idea for extra insulation to fit cupboards inside to outside walls, rather than the inside ones either side of fire places in victorian houses.
This was an interesting explore. What a facinating house. I'm sure there is a story here, but we will never get to know it. One question, for an obviously intelligent man - why do you have to open old fridges? The results are never good. LOL

I could be wrong but when we did this explore, im sure it had something to do with tax fraud but im not 100% on this.
Well, someone has to know some information on this place. There's no way this can be such a mystery.
It would take 15 minutes to find out who lives there with the address and the appropriate website or government records office.
