Dave there is no shame in trying to fix it yourself, but knowing when to hire a professional takes discipline! PDR technicians have changed the auto body repair industry for the better!
Funny to see your video today. We took possession of our MY on the 20th and got hit by door in a parking lot 8 days later and dealt with someone like your guy. It does not show anymore. We are so happy with the result.
Good results! It's a real push-pull technique: flatten the top and suck out the dent from the pole. Kathy must be much happier now. So fun to see Bailey again!
Hi Dave, I am glad you went with a Paintless Dent Repair Technician to repair the Model 3. No Insurance Claim and definitely far less out of pocket compared to going to a Auto Body Shop. The other thing to take into consideration is that it is the leading edge of the vehicle where rock and paint chips will occur due to the horrible road here in the CT / NY Metro Area. Good Job!
Great Job. Look perfect to me. Note: Your are lucky that the problem was with the front bumper. In the case of the Model Y rear bumper, part of the hatch is flush with the bumper. So both the rear plastic bumper and the metal door hatch can be damaged when hitting an obstacle.
Nice job 👍 Thanks Dave. I dinged up our Model Y hatch and had the dent repair done. Thankfully, the PPF protected the paint. Big thanks to the gang at Unique Auto here in Toronto for keep our car looking brand new.
New bumper with a new paint would have had a different obvious for the eyes in terms of color. I'm glad you done it this way. All the best from international viewer.
Dino's hammer gave me a headache, but the man certainly knows what he's doing. And he's a personable guy to boot. Too bad he doesn't come down to Florida.
Jay Leno in one of the episodes on Jay Leno's Garage TH-cam channel once said the car is new until first scratch. If visually the scratch disappeared then the owners should be happy.
Why does this even happen? My new MY had no accidents and there is no evidence someone backed into it but I have the two high points formed on the bumper! I am sure it wasn't there when I picked it up. Has this happened to anyone?
Money. Tesla saves an estimated $114 per car by removing ultrasonic sensors which x 2 million cars theyre likely to sell this year amounts to more then $200 million in cost reduction. And they are priotizing profits and cost over decreased customer experience thats probably not deal breaking in the sale
Great repair job! I need some insight on curb rash repairs on Tesla wheels. Not wishing Kathy wheel damage, but if they happen to be scraped and you can do some videos on the repair process, that would be helpful to me. I heard you can order matched paint to spray over the curb rash but need more info on that. Thanks again for another interesting video, Dave.
@@naughtysauce4323 maybe you’re right. But I got that figure from Munro Associates analysis. Since that’s the entire job of that company I figured they’re trustworthy.
A1’s business is going to get a major boost! Good video!

I hire them every two years to fix dents and to do paint chips repairs.
I never knew this could be done to the plastic bumper. I had my bumper dented on day 3 of my brand new car. Thanks
That was completely worth it. Thanks for the update Dave. Dino did an awesome job.
Thanks for supporting a small business. I thought the price was very reasonable. Happy wife, happy life.

@alexanderkajdi8117: Dave's wife Kathy owns a Model Y by the way.
Great Job. Look perfect to me.

Wow.. great video. Seems like a good businessman and friendly 👍🏾
It looks absolutely perfect!
Dino did an outstanding job. I would hire him in a heartbeat.

Reminds me of the old saw about plumbing. Very informative!
Nice! I'll definitely hire him if I need some small repair on my Y/LR in the future.
Good move Dave! Looks great!

Awesome work! Sometimes a body shop can make it worse with overspray, bad blends, major delays, etc.
Looks good. But I have to wonder what all the burning and banging does to the paint's viability?
He did a great job! He deserves a good tip! $$$
His tip is Dave’s video which should deliver $5K or more incremental sales.
A tip on top of $500? Wow
@@InternetDude I would have given him a $50 tip. Look how much money he saved Dave.
Looks good! There will be others!
Did he fix the scratch that happened to the trunk from the new garage door???
Great job 👏
Dave great content. This means you can now trade in her model Y for the new refresh in 2025
"Well I know what you did Dave" hahahahhahahhaha You're adorable~ How's that doghouse Dave?
Happy wife ,Happy life
Very nice, very nice😊
That looks perfect on video. Quality work. Tell the wife you need a blowtorch or Tesla’s flamethrower.

:) determination, loving it, best of wishes
You got lucky - most places charge double if you 'fix-it' first.
😆
Dude, the Tesla Service Center has painted bumpers ready to install. No body shop necessary.
Not my service center. In fact Mt Kisco told me they no longer replace bumpers Told me I was on my own
excellence
Well, no s-t , Dave !
My model S is $2400 for bumper replacement.
What a messy garage, Dave!
Why does the Tesla not have sensors
they removed the sensors in the newer models and have moved to a camera based system

@@Jeddin You over value those products. They cost the company at the most $25 not including the labor to install them.

Its only $1200+/- from tesla with installation.
Tesla Mt Kisco said they don’t do that specific work anymore and told me to go to a private body shop Crazy
Congrats Dave. You saved $1,000.00 to $2,000.00!
Couldn't get your first attempt past Kathy, huh?
