Halo Halo Desert, originating from its humble roots in the Philippines, has become a must have desert worldwide. Known for its colors and an amazing blend of flavors, the name of this iconic Filipino dessert translates to “mix-mix” in English.
Great Dapa video, thank you Brian and Lot, you two looked like royalty lunching at that waterfront rooftop restaurant. Hope the food matched the view. Be well you two and thank you for all.
Dapa looks a super cool place and clean.Great walk and talk 👍🏻 and the food looks. delicious..The Halo Halo got a 10/10 😊Thanks for sharing Philly and Luisa 👍🏻👍🏻🤜🤛✌🏻🇬🇧
So many NICE Places in the Philippines. People dis... it without knowing anything about it. HALO-HALO ! MIX-MIX ! Mmmmm MASARAP !! There is a place in Phoenix, Arizona that makes it the right way. A place called HALO HALO KITCHEN. All Traditional Filipino Foods, not Americanized ! Great Vlog, Brian !
First time I had "Halo-halo" was in Thailand (not sure what it is called there), and again in Malaya where it is quite common. Probably popular instead of ice cream as it was hard to get fresh milk in the provinces until more recently. Klim (milk spelt backwards) powdered milk was the alternative, or a coconut based substitute.
I was in THAILAND for one year and never saw HALO HALO, unless it had another name, in that case it's not HALO HALO because it's made differently here in PHILIPPINES😕
This is what I found out about Halo - Halo: Halo-halo is a popular Filipino dessert that originated in the Philippines. The term "halo-halo" literally means "mix-mix" in Tagalog, which refers to the process of mixing various ingredients together. Halo-halo is believed to have been inspired by the Japanese dessert called "kakigori," a shaved ice dessert flavored with syrups. Filipino locals adapted this concept and added their own twist by incorporating various sweetened beans, fruits, and creamy milk. Typical ingredients in halo-halo include: 1. Shaved ice 2. Sweetened beans (such as kidney beans or azuki beans) 3. Fruits (like strawberries, mangoes, or bananas) 4. Coconut strips 5. Pinipig (crushed young rice) 6. Leche flan or custard 7. Evaporated milk Halo-halo vendors, known as "halo-halo sellers," can be found in many street corners and markets throughout the Philippines, especially during the hot summer months. It's a refreshing treat that brings people together and is often considered a Filipino summer staple.
So many interesting things on the island. I think it will be a long time before you have showed us everything. lol Even showing the good eating places is going to take a while. Phil
They add some of those things in halo halo for texture and just to make it more nutritional and substance. Like more or a meal than jyst sweet deserts.
Halo Halo translates to mix mix in English. It is a refreshing dessert on a hot tropical afternoon. I believe there is a Japanese influence in its history, but I may be wrong
According to famous Filipino food historians Felice Prudente Sta. Maria and Ambeth Ocampo, halo-halo originated from the pre-war Japanese who lived in the Philippines. As a snack, they used to make kakigori, a Japanese dessert consisting of sweetened beans, like garbanzos, kidney beans or mongo, milk, and shaved ice.Oct 17, 2023
You have to START learning VISAYA language, everybody speaks that down here, it's different then TAGALOG which they speak in the ANGELES CITY area, I was always calling all the beautiful girls 'MAGANDA' but then people here were telling me the word for 'beautiful' is 'GUAPA', that's actually a SPANISH word, they spell it 'GWAPA', and I'm realizing that VISAYAN language has many Spanish words, good for me because I understand a little SPANISH, probably dates back to when SPAIN invaded here Incidentally, that dessert is called 'LECHE FLAN' not 'LECHE PAN' as you were saying, that also originates from SPAIN, it means MILK CUSTARD, and I believe HALO HALO is native to the PHILIPPINES, I don't know any other country that serves this, I had my first here😋
One more time, tell Luisa, that's is not coconut juice, coconut has no juice, is milk that is extracted from the fruit pulp, you grater the pulp, and you squeeze coconut milk from it, in the middle of the fruit, you get water, witch is good for your kidneys, soo, there's no such thing as coconut juice, regards from Boston MA!!
Regarding the average hight of Philippinos (not trying to be condescending, it's a fact) I just don't see how they are such big fans of basketball and even play the game themselves.I must be missing something.
When competing amongst themselves, their height even things out. Even if they can’t dunk, they try to emulate players they’ve watched from abroad. As their diet becomes more westernized, you start to see the young men’s height increase. Professional teams average height is above 6 feet compared to the 1970’s. In fact there’s a 7’4” youngster trying to break into the NBA. Popularity of baseball in Japan is similar to basketball in the Philippines.
There are actually a VARIETY of sizes here, I think I get noticed because I'm almost 6' tall and always stand out in a crowd but there are tall FILIPINOS over 6' and tall women too, I saw a FILIPINO guy one time that was probably over 6'5" and I was just awestruck by his height😆
Everything they eat here is carbs. Also put sugar in food with MSG the neurotoxin. Bleached white rice is just trash and body sees it as a bowl of sugar. Most women are obese here, kids too.
Great video. I would think that if you brought 20 kids that they would bend & give you a discount considering that the place is empty. Your going to eat that whole halo-halo, no wonder your diabetic, lol. Just sayin
This goosla[?] place has a specy view behind you. Behind Lot is even better. I might have a beer with lunch with my feet up. Dapa does look real good, different to Angeles City, theres a beach. Nice goin m8s, you stay vertical Eh!
You always put a great video👍
I appreciate that!
👍😁

The storm clouds at 0:17 look like something out of a Charlton Heston movie when he parted the Red Sea.
Beautiful night here in Illinois.
12:33 Halo Halo? "It came from Outer Space!"
I think I would have told them to hold the corn flakes, the fruit and ice cream sounds good.

Halo halo comes from the Japanese , philippino war. Class of deserts

They put damn vegetables in the Halo-Halo on Leyte. Corn, etc. What a way to RUIN Ice Cream :(

Halo Halo from Spain
Coming to Siargao January 11th for at least two weeks. I would love to meet up with you. I love all your videos and can't wait to get there.
Shot me a email.
Well 😂 👍
The origin of halo-halo is traced to the pre-war Japanese-Filipino.
Hello Brian, another great video, were you able to repair your drone?
The drone is dead in the water 😥
They add some of those things in halo halo for texture and just to make it more nutritional and substance. Like more or a meal than jyst sweet deserts.
Phillie, those pies are great for your blood sugar!Just double up on your metformin and you’ll be fine!!
Would love to see it there, I think you said in another one of your videos that there are no Hotels there, just B&B's? anyway great video!
Siargao has many places to stay.

I would go all the way to Surigao just to eat there.
Halo-halo is from the PH. Halo-halo is a tagalogword meaning "a mix of things"

halo halo is from the Philippines I googled it

Ambut nimo oi 😆
Good, but would have been better if you'd told us how much the meal and halo-halo cost.
625 pesos or $11.36 💵
Maybe they have a night market there,,😊
halo halo means mix mix in bisaya as you mix that around to eat it
First time eating Halo Halo I ate to much at a time and ended up with brain freeze they call it that hurts 🤣🤣

Roger that I will let her know 👍
you can try to call Mercury Drug and order in advance.
Halo Halo came in Manila 1920 original
Philly I think you are the best man to ask this where is the oldest bar located in Angeles City
It's Garfields, but not in original location when we left. Kokamos too but it's a hotel, restaurant and bar.
ROELGEORGE Bar 251A Santos Rd formerly Flamming Bar is the oldest Angeles bar still in operation.
@owen7412 Garfields is the oldest.
@owen7412 I think Philly from the Philippines said babbs was the old
@@thomasodetinape4180 if it moved it doesn't count. Flamming bar still in operation since the 1960s, same location.
Can't you get your meds for 3 months supply at a time?. Thats the way to go.
Is there any way to get your medication sent to you by LBC?
Good question. I will have to look into that option. 👍
brian, this is joe...i plan to have my social security direct deposit to PNB...have you tried that?
No I have not tried that. Check with the bank to see if they offer that feature. 👍
It may take 21 days to clear, ask them about that

Should ask that Woman from France if you can come stay a few days 😂. Let her stay at your apartment for a couple weeks.
Good diabetes food there 😂
