If you keep up with the bees, it might be worth building a dedicated space just for dealing with the honey. If nothing else it will save you having to clean all the kitchen appliances

Looks like liquid gold, and is as precious. You put so much love into the making of the honey, that makes it even more precious.

Reminds me of my childhood when a friend of my father's used to have beehives. He used to have it as a Business. He was an old german guy. He used to produce Ti Tree honey in Queensland and it used to go candied. I loved that honey. Thank you Colin for bringing back memories from over 60 years ago. Will be 76 in about a month's time!

Wow what a wonderful process of extracting the honey. Thank you Colin for showing us the process from start to finish. It is so amazing what the bees produce. I agree with you that you put your heart and sole from start to finish. Congratulations Colin on your first year of harvesting your honey. Have a great week. God Bless.

Guys that was fascinating to watch, thank you very much for making this weeks episode. I never realised how much process went from getting honey to a jar. Really informative to see. Some years ago, my husband , Peter, kept bees. He went on a course in Writtle Agricultural College with his friend and they qualified as beekeepers. We had hives in my father-in-law's garden for a while and when it was time to extract it our four children helped. We were harvesting wildflower honey and so could use a rotary extractor. I well remember the sticky door handles and surfaces and the fact that all six of us (the children and us) used all the hot water to clean up the kitchen and ourselves. In spite of us taking over her house for the day, my lovely mother -in-law fed us when needed and thoroughly enjoyed herself. It's a very satisfying experience and boy! do you sleep well after it.

I will never look at a jar of honey the same way again. They talk about 'busy bees', well they have nothing on the beekeepers and honey profucers. The cost of honey is understandable now. First, the bees work diligently to fly from flower to flower gathering pollen. Second, you work just as hard getting it into jars to be enjoyed. I never imagined the process involved to get honey into jars. Good on you for once again educating, entertaining and making my Friday a day I can always look forward to with a smile. 🍯🍞🐝

So very cool from beginning to end. The only suggestion I have is to get a soft wheeled cart to take the supers to your spot away from the hives and then have an table there so you don't have to bend over or get down on your knees unnecessarily. Ahem.

Your vlogs are so informative, the prostate vlog with your openness and honesty was eye opening, it’s something that is not talked openly about unlike breast cancer, where we are publicly encouraged to check our boobs and go for regular screening, which reminds me I have my mammogram next week. WHAT A TRULY FANTASTIC VLOG ?? I have been watching you two since you first started vlogging on Silver Fox. The two of you do such a GREAT JOB with anything you begin. I watched several different narrowboat vlogs and yours were by far the VERY BEST. As usual, since landing in Scotland everything new you have tried has been so informative and wonderful to watch. I look forward to every Saturday to bee able to view your new vlog ! Thank you for sharing your life adventures with us !
Can we buy some honey in advance for next years harvest to be able to get it in America?
