Freelander V6 Restoration Part 2 Cambelt (!), Pulleys, Starting

Freelander V6 restoration - the beginning. So the first stage is to diagnose why it wasn’t starting. Checked it was sparking, inspected the cambelt - what a shocker, pulley melted down! A poor previous cambelt change (tensioner not set right maybe) and possible oil contamination. Engine starts after fixing the pulley, cambelt and timing but still more work to come as misfiring.
I like the challenge of changing the cambelts without the timing set special tools, even though they are readily available and not mega expensive. So after a bit of thinking, in the video I use a fairly easy way of fitting the main timing belt at a position where the cams and belt will stay where they are with suitable tension while the rest of the belt is fitted, and without the cam locking tools. Easy to check everything lines up back at the timing set position once the belt is fitted.

Could u tell me where the pvc valve is on my 02 2.5 v6 gas freelander se i can not find this thing anywhere thanks Fred.

there are none.
It's uses a valveless negative pressure vent system.
That is all those plastic pipes and t-junction on the top of the engine.
