  • Today we are going back to Akihabara to visit MAGI Card Shop! Magi has a very popular online store, with tons of chase cards from the Pokemon TCG for sale. Is their physical store up to the challenge? Let's see!

    Hi nick, I just wanna say thank you for all the videos you make about Pokémon card shopping in Japan! I’m wrapping up my study abroad term here to go back to America, but your videos have been so helpful for finding out which shops I like or not. Pocket center had some of the best prices I’ve seen for modern cards with an extremely friendly staff and good location, and I’m very thankful you talked about it or else I might not have even knew the store existed.

      You’re very welcome :-) I’m glad it was of some use to you, and that you got to discover the Pocket Center ^^
      Hope you’ll get to come back in a few years ;-)

    I loved this watch, crazy how over market Magi is. For slabs I can understand due to the demand and lack of them in Japan. But everything else being that over market is wild. Great video man!

      Thanks! Glad you enjoy my content ;-) Magi, same as Card Secret, enjoy their quasi-monopoly in specific areas. If you’re looking for specific items and don’t want to use internet you almost have no choice but to go there. And I can understand that as well, for a box like the Charizard Poncho Pikachu, considering the price tag, I’d rather buy it at a premium from Magi, than from a random seller on internet, the risk is too high.

    Good vid as always my guy! I will definetly look around Magi even tho its pretty pricey😅 I want some japanese prime cards so bad! They are way too beatiful❤ Would be interesting if you would make an video just about vintage stuff and things you are interested in😊 I really hope you have a beatiful day and peace out of Germany!

    • @PokeNickinJapan
      @PokeNickinJapan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pricey yes, but if you do have the budget they have all the prime cards you need. When it comes to Japanese products only, they have more options than Card Secret.
      Thanks for the suggestion! :-) I actually have a couple of ideas for new videos that I intend to start at some point this year, for now I’m getting everything ready for the trading platform first :-D

      Hi! It is hard to find here as well to be honest. I think I’ve seen it only once so far. As it is the only one of its kind I guess it doesn’t stay very long in the showcase whenever a card shop gets it in stock :-)

    Hello Nick,
    thank you for your numerous videos! What I noticed while looking was that many shops have a large selection of displays from the Sword and Shield era. However, I never saw the Blue Sky Stream display. Do you know more? Is the display rare and perhaps had a short print? And how much does it cost in Japan right now?
    Keep up your good work! ;)

    • @PokeNickinJapan
      @PokeNickinJapan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Thank you for watching :-) You are absolutely right, it is a very hard one to find. I’ve only seen a booster box in Bee Honpo, in Osaka. So far in Tokyo the best I could find were booster packs in Nakano Broadway, but I wouldn’t go for these.
      I’m not sure when it comes to the print run, Blue Sky Stream released alongside Towering Perfection, and the latter is one we still can find easily at a fairly decent price. The main difference is that BSS had 3 HUGE hits of Pokemon very popular in Japan (Rayquaza and Dragonite), vs Towering Perfection which had….. well…. let’s not talk about it xD
      The current market price (online) for Blue Sky Stream is around 65,000yen, so yes, it is more expensive than Eevee Heroes, and has been for a while now.

      @@PokeNickinJapan Thanks for your answer! ☺️ The display could become a real treasure in the future given how rare it is now.

    One set I'm very curious about, but not many videos mention when they look around these stores - but do many stores carry any of the cards from the VS set?

    • @PokeNickinJapan
      @PokeNickinJapan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very good question. VS singles aren’t that hard to find (never cheap though), but the packs are really tough to get your hands on. I’ve seen VS packs in 1 or 2 stores only so far.
