I don't even know if it's humanely possible to get all the 1 to 9th gen shiny Pokemons without cheating. 40 cakes is performing the challenge currently in Emerald and just the Hoenn dex, all with a bot. It's likely taking years even if the bot is running 24-7. If you allow yourself trading it's easier though
@@ilyeser1708 My knowledge really ends at gen 5 (even though I played up to 7) but you're right - it's not actually possible. To my knowledge, Victini, Meloetta, and Keldeo have never been available shiny. To get the other event mons as shiny, it does require a little bit of cheating - namely to get the event distribution items. Shiny locked pokemon such as the Tapu's or Reshiram/Zekrom were later made available in their shiny forms via events or through future generations. But it's *almost* possible. You can have a legitimate shinydex in generations 2-4 if you give yourself the exceptions to use cheats for event items, even the unreleased azure flute.
They really should make for a permanent means of transporting Pokemon up from Gen 1. Through this, all mainline games will retain relevancy no matter how far ahead the series progresses.
Do note that Generation 1 and 2 handled IVs and EVs than Gen 3 and on. This also affects how they calculated shiny status and the nature, which were based off of IVs in Gen 1 and 2.
well the GBA and the DSs didnt have any external storage options, so that Game Freak actually figured out a way to do this without additional hardware is pretty fucking gangster and a W for GameFreak standards
Doing a simple asset transfer... Neither PS5, nor Xbox allow you do that. I don't know what you smoke but transfering a save file from 2004 to 2024 is impressive.

@cosmicsvids fans will find a way, even though you can't download it from the 3ds store anymore. Fans made a homebrew mod where you can get it and still use it, also fans have made old mystery gifts start working again for pokemon diamond, etc. I would give people a month before we have a working fan made server for pokemon bank.

You do NOT need a gba micro, here is the minimum you need: 1. DS Lite 2. 3DS/2DS 3. Switch 4. Gen 3 game 5. Gen 4 game 6. Gen 5 game 7. Gen 9 game Process: Put Gen 3 game and Gen 4 game into DS Lite, and then use the transfer from gba option in the main menu on thr Gen 4 game. Put Gen 5 game into 3DS/2DS and use pal Park to transport from Gen 4 to Gen 5. Next, use poke transporter to move pomemon from Gen 5 into pokemon bank. Finally, use the transfer to pokemon home feature to put the pokemon into pokemon home. Now, you can put it into any supported game on the switch.
You're very close in the list of things needed, but slightly off. Here's my version of the list, and it should instead be the minimum software and hardware needed: DS/DS Lite 3DS/2DS/N2DS/N3DS Pokémon Bank Poké Transporter Pokémon Home G3 game G4 game G5 game G6/G7 game G9 game (also chargers and internet, just to ensure all of my bases are covered.)
Great video but I think there's one problem and is that you need at least a 3DS game (Gen 6 or 7) to be able to access pokemon bank to switch from the transfer box to any of the regular boxes, it didn't prompt this up because you had them downloaded, but it will be a good thing to point out in future videos
I am so glad that when I got back into Pokémon in 2012/2013 I wanted to go back to all the gens I had missed at this point (I stopped with Crystal). So by going to flea markets I was able to get an advance sp with emerald and sapphire vor 15€. Obviously a mom getting rid of her kids stuff. Boy would I be angry if I was that kid. I managed to also get heartgold with the pokewalker for admittedly 50€, but honestly that's cheap compared for what it goes today. I managed to fill out my collection more over the past few years. For more money than I should've probably. Got two ds lite (one was a scam), platinum, colosseum, white 2, trading cable for advance and transfer cable for the game cube. I'm currently trying to fill my home pokedex and I am missing 14 Pokémon at the moment. 3 are event mythicals unfortunately, but I'm keeping my eyes out for any events. Especially in PoGo. Got my Hoopa and Jirachi through Go. If you're only getting into Pokémon now and want to play the old stuff, it is so ridiculously expensive. I have a good second hand shop in my town but he knows what he's got. And the prices are set accordingly.

The process has gotten easier over the years but because you’re doing 4 different transferring processes it’s a bit complicated. Once Pokémon bank came out it became a lot easier. So transferring from gen 5 to 9 isn’t that hard
Thanks for this man, I have been thinking about getting a switch and getting back into the new gens but I was hoping all my effort in the earlier gens wouldn’t be for naught. I have everything of the earlier gens except a gen 3 game (prbly won’t buy that anytime soon anyway)
Crappy part though is the newer games don't support all the pokemon so we're not even sure we're going to get a game that can do that like they used to. All of my pokemon are sitting in X for the time being because that game can hold all the pokemon up to that point. Or we may never get games like that again because it's a lot to implement all of the pokemon in a singular game these generations.
So glad I have a modded 3DS and GBA cart reader that lets me transfer from any gen into bank, while keeping the legitness of the Pokemon. So much of a time saver (and would-be money saver if I didn’t already own everything)

This is honestly unacceptable at this point. They’re about to shut down the servers for the 3DS so everything prior to Gen 7 will be trapped and unable to move forward. There needed to be a permanent solution to this years ago.
A couple people have brought that up actually. It happened cause I tried changing the gender of my character to female using pkhex, and it changed back when I left the building
My biggest question was what ball do the keep, the original they were caught in or if it defaults to the pokeball after the park ball nonsense. It looks like they do keep the original catch ball though so that's sweet
It seems like all the balls from the 3DS VC versions of Gen 1 and 2 revert to regular Pokeballs though. But they do have a cool Game Boy origin icon afterwards.

Well we don't know when bank will shut down. Heck, they may keep it up assuming the servers don't cost too much, just to avoid the backlash. If not, some smart dedicated fans may create a non-official workaround or bank replacement that a modded 3ds and/or switch would probably be required to do.
Sadly we’re limited as to when they will shut down the Pokémon Bank servers. They’re going to screw people over if they want to transfer in the future.
I'm really hoping they devise a way to keep pokemon bank and transporter working. If they shut down without an pokemon-legal alternative, trades between 5/6, 5/7, 6/7, 1&2 Virtual Console/7, and all of those titles to pokemon home will permanently be severed. If we truly lose pokemon bank and transporter, that's 17 years worth of games no longer being able to do cross-generational trades, which is more than devestating.
As a person that has done this, I don't recommend it just because ya it's cool to have your old Pokemon with different championship ribbons but other than that there are no pros. the newer gens of sword and shield made sure that newer Pokemon have higher stats than old gen pokemon from FR,LG

google: Nintendo DS homebrew there should be plenty of material to read before you can attempt doing it yourself. once you've found the one tutorial you have to follow it step by step, if you don't, there is a good chance you can brick your DS system and without custom firmware already on it, there is zero chance of reverting it.
So Poke Transporter itself requires online communication for the 'foreseeable future'... not a local, wireless communication, or directly to the 6th and 7th gen games.. Unfortunate. The days to transfer from 1st, 2nd, and 5th gen to 6th and 7th are numbered.
And what's frustrating is that once bank is down for good - transferring from gen III IV and V to gens VI and VII alone will be impossible, much less to gen VIII and IX

The amount of time this is taking me to just transfer all Gen3 pokemon to Platinum is nauseating... Pretty sure it took over 5 hours yesterday just to transfer all Emerald pokemon to Platinum. If I was doing it 100% legit it would have taken 23 days doing it 6 pokemon a day... Ffs, who thought this was an OK system?

You need an original DS or DS lite since a DSI or 3DS doesn’t have a GBA slot. Without one You can transfer from generation 4 instead of 3 but you need 2 combinations of DS (DS + 3DS, 3DS + 3DS etc). Otherwise you can only transfer back from generation 5
If you’re still looking for an answer, homebrew 3DS will have everything you’d need built in to transfer from gen4 to bank. you can also transfer from gen2 and 3 if you have it on virtual console, or gen3 if you have a cart reader. there is an app that lets you transfer pokemon from any save on ur 3DS, much like bank does
It might be a bug or maybe i haven't played Emerald enough, but, when exiting the Battle tower (minute 3:58) the character switched from Brendan to May. Is that normal? XD
he probably used ACE (arbitrary code execution) to change the gender of his character pokemon emerald is famous for its glitches and it's possible to do ACE on it edit : he replied to a comment where he said he used pkhex, nvm :D

So how much does having all the consoles + games + nintendo switch online suscription cost just to transfer in this case 4/6 pokémon? It's easier to use some external program to put all the stats and stuff, right? I'm speaking without knowing, but that's a common thing.
i mean yes there are bot traders active and you could indeed 'create' a monster to then be generated in the game by the bot and traded to you. but this isn't too common, not many know of this method. then again, if you have a legit monster on your Emerald card you last played 12 years ago, and you want those pokemon moved into the newer Gens, there is basically no other way.
to be honest I don't care about transporting my Pokemon to newer games in the future. If I ever decide to replay the old Pokemon games I really don't care about transferring them into the newest generation as most Pokemon used during playthroughs might have sentimental value but they are definitely not worth the time it would take to transport them throughout the generations. --- We have had quite a while to transport all our valuable Pokemon to newer gens and the only thing that we will be losing with Pokemon banks death is going to be Ribbon Master challenges and the ability to get a couple of Pokemon that have yet to shown up in the newer gens. TLDR: most pokemon are very replaceable but make sure to transport any who aren't before its too late

that was caused by an edit i made to the save file using pkhex. I accidentally changed my characters gender in the editor but when i left the building it changed back

Specifically, the sticker is not cut correctly. The bottom left of the label is very clearly rounded; a proper cut can be seen on the White 2 cartridge.

The gen iii pokemon remain in the original ball the were captured in. For example my Rayquaza in home from my sapphire save is in a master ball. 👌

Great video but I think there's one problem and is that you need at least a 3DS game (Gen 6 or 7) to be able to access pokemon bank to switch from the transfer box to any of the regular boxes, it didn't prompt this up because you had them downloaded, but it will be a good thing to point out in future videos

I am so glad that when I got back into Pokémon in 2012/2013 I wanted to go back to all the gens I had missed at this point (I stopped with Crystal). So by going to flea markets I was able to get an advance sp with emerald and sapphire vor 15€. Obviously a mom getting rid of her kids stuff. Boy would I be angry if I was that kid. I managed to also get heartgold with the pokewalker for admittedly 50€, but honestly that's cheap compared for what it goes today. I managed to fill out my collection more over the past few years. For more money than I should've probably. Got two ds lite (one was a scam), platinum, colosseum, white 2, trading cable for advance and transfer cable for the game cube. I'm currently trying to fill my home pokedex and I am missing 14 Pokémon at the moment. 3 are event mythicals unfortunately, but I'm keeping my eyes out for any events. Especially in PoGo. Got my Hoopa and Jirachi through Go.
If you're only getting into Pokémon now and want to play the old stuff, it is so ridiculously expensive. I have a good second hand shop in my town but he knows what he's got. And the prices are set accordingly.
If you have a DS you can use a DNS trick to get event Pokémon that you might have missed. Works for all of Gen IV and V.

The process has gotten easier over the years but because you’re doing 4 different transferring processes it’s a bit complicated. Once Pokémon bank came out it became a lot easier. So transferring from gen 5 to 9 isn’t that hard
I'd love it if they released an official peripheral for directly transferring to HOME now that the Switch has a USB-C port.

Thanks for this man, I have been thinking about getting a switch and getting back into the new gens but I was hoping all my effort in the earlier gens wouldn’t be for naught. I have everything of the earlier gens except a gen 3 game (prbly won’t buy that anytime soon anyway)
Crappy part though is the newer games don't support all the pokemon so we're not even sure we're going to get a game that can do that like they used to. All of my pokemon are sitting in X for the time being because that game can hold all the pokemon up to that point. Or we may never get games like that again because it's a lot to implement all of the pokemon in a singular game these generations.
So glad I have a modded 3DS and GBA cart reader that lets me transfer from any gen into bank, while keeping the legitness of the Pokemon. So much of a time saver (and would-be money saver if I didn’t already own everything)

@@shanegoes5778 there are multiple GBA cart readers out there but the one I have is the GB Operator by Epilogue. it’s more expensive than most; kinda like the “Apple product of cart readers” but works great.

Wow the money investment if you didn't have all of this already. I just got back into everything again and no longer have any of my old systems. So seeing all of *this* just to get gen3 up to current, is insane! I literally am better off at just getting Lets GO Pikachu if I want to home pokemon from that time.

This is honestly unacceptable at this point. They’re about to shut down the servers for the 3DS so everything prior to Gen 7 will be trapped and unable to move forward. There needed to be a permanent solution to this years ago.

A couple people have brought that up actually. It happened cause I tried changing the gender of my character to female using pkhex, and it changed back when I left the building
My biggest question was what ball do the keep, the original they were caught in or if it defaults to the pokeball after the park ball nonsense. It looks like they do keep the original catch ball though so that's sweet
It seems like all the balls from the 3DS VC versions of Gen 1 and 2 revert to regular Pokeballs though. But they do have a cool Game Boy origin icon afterwards.

Well we don't know when bank will shut down. Heck, they may keep it up assuming the servers don't cost too much, just to avoid the backlash. If not, some smart dedicated fans may create a non-official workaround or bank replacement that a modded 3ds and/or switch would probably be required to do.

Pokemon Platinum player after watching you try to figure out Platinum's controls:
Sadly we’re limited as to when they will shut down the Pokémon Bank servers. They’re going to screw people over if they want to transfer in the future.
I'm really hoping they devise a way to keep pokemon bank and transporter working. If they shut down without an pokemon-legal alternative, trades between 5/6, 5/7, 6/7, 1&2 Virtual Console/7, and all of those titles to pokemon home will permanently be severed. If we truly lose pokemon bank and transporter, that's 17 years worth of games no longer being able to do cross-generational trades, which is more than devestating.

As a person that has done this, I don't recommend it just because ya it's cool to have your old Pokemon with different championship ribbons but other than that there are no pros. the newer gens of sword and shield made sure that newer Pokemon have higher stats than old gen pokemon from FR,LG

Ive been very gentle with my game systems. Ive had that particular ds since 2010 and never dropped it, or bent the hinge back too far.

there should be plenty of material to read before you can attempt doing it yourself.
once you've found the one tutorial you have to follow it step by step, if you don't, there is a good chance you can brick your DS system and without custom firmware already on it, there is zero chance of reverting it.

Good news it does connect to wifi the only thing it doesn't is migrate the pokemons from gba.

So Poke Transporter itself requires online communication for the 'foreseeable future'... not a local, wireless communication, or directly to the 6th and 7th gen games.. Unfortunate. The days to transfer from 1st, 2nd, and 5th gen to 6th and 7th are numbered.
And what's frustrating is that once bank is down for good - transferring from gen III IV and V to gens VI and VII alone will be impossible, much less to gen VIII and IX

@@ZdsZodyrus Ok I was definitely way ruder than necessary. But your voice just has weird thing that isn't necessarily a speech impediment, but feels like one. It kinda sounds like a kids voice pitched up, however kids don't have good linguistics yet and it doesnt feel weird in that context.
Also you are very detailed in your descriptions but you over explain which comes off negatively, and also like I haven't ever touched a pokemon game before.

The amount of time this is taking me to just transfer all Gen3 pokemon to Platinum is nauseating... Pretty sure it took over 5 hours yesterday just to transfer all Emerald pokemon to Platinum. If I was doing it 100% legit it would have taken 23 days doing it 6 pokemon a day... Ffs, who thought this was an OK system?

Do you need a DS? I was hoping this was possible with my homebrew 3DS.
You need an original DS or DS lite since a DSI or 3DS doesn’t have a GBA slot. Without one You can transfer from generation 4 instead of 3 but you need 2 combinations of DS (DS + 3DS, 3DS + 3DS etc). Otherwise you can only transfer back from generation 5
If you’re still looking for an answer, homebrew 3DS will have everything you’d need built in to transfer from gen4 to bank. you can also transfer from gen2 and 3 if you have it on virtual console, or gen3 if you have a cart reader. there is an app that lets you transfer pokemon from any save on ur 3DS, much like bank does

It is possible to still get Pokémon bank and Pokemon Transporter however you need to modify your 3DS to do this

So how much does having all the consoles + games + nintendo switch online suscription cost just to transfer in this case 4/6 pokémon? It's easier to use some external program to put all the stats and stuff, right? I'm speaking without knowing, but that's a common thing.
i mean yes there are bot traders active and you could indeed 'create' a monster to then be generated in the game by the bot and traded to you.
but this isn't too common, not many know of this method.
then again, if you have a legit monster on your Emerald card you last played 12 years ago, and you want those pokemon moved into the newer Gens, there is basically no other way.
to be honest I don't care about transporting my Pokemon to newer games in the future. If I ever decide to replay the old Pokemon games I really don't care about transferring them into the newest generation as most Pokemon used during playthroughs might have sentimental value but they are definitely not worth the time it would take to transport them throughout the generations. --- We have had quite a while to transport all our valuable Pokemon to newer gens and the only thing that we will be losing with Pokemon banks death is going to be Ribbon Master challenges and the ability to get a couple of Pokemon that have yet to shown up in the newer gens. TLDR: most pokemon are very replaceable but make sure to transport any who aren't before its too late

PokeBank service has ended, it means you can no longer transfer mons from the 3DS.

that was caused by an edit i made to the save file using pkhex. I accidentally changed my characters gender in the editor but when i left the building it changed back
