I thought the same but it is pretty necessary in order to create a balance to the rudder. I actually increased the area cause the boat had leeway in "two-hull"-sailing mode.

I think, Tacking is so quicklu because its has a centerboard.

For me, the central fin doesn't look necessary! Isn't the side force of the hulls not enough?
