    Nice to have the cab off and be able to get to everything. Were you not concerned about sand getting in it at the output shaft?

      I ran diesel through it to clean it out before adding fluid.

    You used the wrong transmission fluid. Ranger uses automatic transmission fluid.

      Not correct my friend, everybody prefers different types and weights of fluids, I even use 10-30 in 5-20 applications. I have experienced in what I’m doing and it’s always been great for me

      @@path2049 I use the thicker oil because in the past I had one seize up and break the input shaft because it was not lubricating properly so after rebuilding the transmission I started using the thicker weight in all my manual transmission’s

    Just installed new clutch kit in 97 ranger, don't think I put my pilot bearing all the way to the stop. What kind of trouble can I expect if any. Tranny is all the way installed just haven't cranked it yet. When I put bellhousing had to use bolts to pull the last maybe quarter inch. Not sure if that's why or it was just difficult because I did myself from under truck on my back. Hope I don't need to tear back down just to tap pilot bearing in more. It's in where it starts to bevel.

      @@Hunter-f4j usually it will be ok, the shaft sometimes will push it in place but you shouldn’t have had to force it, hope it spins freely

      @@1194video Alright thanks for your opinion. I watched your video before doing this and got in a rush to beat rain and didn't think about pilot bearing not pushed all the way to stopper till time to bolt up bell housing. Getting too old for this kind of stuff anymore 🤣. Gonna see how it does after I install clutch master and if I have to drop it again I will drop it again. And thanks again brother and hope your project treats you well 👍

    did you rebuild the motor or just clean it and paint? if you did rebuild is there a vid?

    • @1194video
      @1194video  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not rebuild the engine only checked comprehension making sure all is good and changed out timing stuff and cleaned it up. Ran very well before I tore the truck down so didn’t see a reason on a full rebuild.

    Where is the speed sensor on a 2000 ranger 2.5 manual transmission

    • @1194video
      @1194video  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The speed sensor is located on the top of the rear axle at the side of the center chunk

      @@1194video I replaced the one on the driver side rear axle but that one is the abs sensor

    • @1194video
      @1194video  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frj4987 the sensor on the axle is what controls speed, The rear is only sensor to control speed which is called the (abs wheel speed sensor) unless it’s automatic in which it will be on the tail shaft it’s a circular shaft that sticks out with 2 wire plug, 5 speed does not have that sensor so only uses the rear end sensor.

      @1194video  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frj4987 you might check the front spindles and see if your model also has the sensors at the front wheels too. They are bolted to spindle and has the magnetic end which reads the gear on the rotor.
