Nice I have a rig with KDSS good to see the content
Thanks!
Perfect...thx guys
Awesome job
kick ass channel
Thanks! Appreciate it!
is the rear lifted or leveled to fit the 275/70 or is it stock hieght? thank you.
I like the running boards what are those?
A little late on watching this video, but how do you guys personally think the level looks with those 265/70/17's? My biggest drawback with doing a front end level is that I'm running brand new 265/70/17 AT tires and don't want to invest in 285's at this point. Will my 265's look overly bad with this level (of course, in your opinion)? Thanks!
Do you guys sell the KDSS spacer and 3,2 ready lift for 5th gen 4Runner ORP? It is impressive how meticulous, careful and clean you guys are. I so wish you were here in Cali.
We currently don't have the KDSS spacer on our site. Thank you for the compliment!
I just grabbed a 2023 Limited with 6 miles on it 2 weeks ago. I don’t want to do a bunch of hacking on it. But I’m curious about what size wheels and tires I can run with just a leveling kit. I want to fill out those wheel wells a little more. Diameter, width and offset limits. I’m willing to go with a smaller sidewall.
What kind of tire are you trying to run? A/T or M/T? With a leveling kit I think you can get away with 275/70. I would suggest like a 17x8.5 with a 0 offset.
@@yotaxpedition my Limited running 285/70R17 on 17x7.5 +15 offset TRD ORP wheels with 2.25 front (reduced 1/4in from factory adjusted 2.5 setting) and 1.5in rear.
So i just bought this leveling kit from you guys and installed it the other day. However i didn’t mess with any of those bolts for the alignment, should i have? I’ll be getting larger tires and an alignment within the next few weeks
If you are getting new tires and an alignment in a few weeks then you should be ok. As long as your 4Runner currently drives safely down the road.
@@yotaxpedition ok cool. Yup i can take my hands off the wheel and it tracks straight
Went to Cali raised to get adjustable 5100 on my kdss 4Runner I don’t think they needed spacer.
Yeah. Dr KDSS recommends against a front spacer. If adjustment is needed, the KDSS relocation brackets should be used instead. This spacer they used can cause the KDSS strut to overextend.
What kdss spacer are you using?
Hey this is somewhat related to this video. I have the OME BP51 kit. I have not installed it. But I didn’t get one of those spacers that you highlighted at 3:20. Is that something I should look into before installing it? Did anyone else with this lift get one those spacers in their kit? Sorry for the potentially noob question but this is ALL new to me.
Some people after lifting their KDSS 4runner will have a lean. This spacer helps correct that and let the sway bar operate correctly.
What kdss spacer did you use in the video?
Also, is seams like you only install a spacer on the passager side, is that correct?
The KDSS spacer is from Treaty Oak. Yes that is correct, the spacer is only installed on the passenger side. The driver side moves up and down using hydraulic fluid where the passenger side is stationary.
Do the kdss spacer and diff drop kit come separate? On your online store its says that leveling kit is meant for without kdss. Is it still ok to use as long as you have the other kit?
The Maxtrac kit comes with the diff drop. The Icon kit does not. We contacted Maxtrac and they said their kit will work with KDSS (we need to update our page). And obviously the icon kit works as well since we installed it. Diff drop is not really necessary in my opinion.
@@yotaxpedition so should I get the kdss spacer with the maxtrac kit?! Please help, this has been a nightmare getting a solid answer.
Does the 2" level make the front a little higher than the rear? I've seen leveled 4Runners that the front looks a little too high .Thx
This leveling kit we installed made it almost perfect.
Link to the kdss spacer?
how tall is the lift and is it affecting the sensore in the front? I just won a 2023 SR5 from an auction and it`ll arrive in aprile to me. I want to do a lift but I read everywhere that even a 1 inch lift ruins the sensor readings and it has to be reprogrammed or something???
We have had no issues with any lifted 4Runners and the TSS sensor. Could the sensor use a recalibration? Probably. But we have had no reason to look into it.
@@yotaxpedition I hope it does not need recal, because from where I am no one has ever worked on a 4runner 5th gen. and issues like these will be a big problem for me in the future. No garage have software for the truck.
I’m not finding the spacer for the KDSS on the site. Is that needed for a 2023 4runner TRS Off-Road Premium? I just bought it like two days ago and I’m learning about all the systems.
We do not have the KDSS spacer listed on the site at this time. The customer we did the install for bought it from Treaty Oak
@@yotaxpedition thank you! What is the best way to do a level for these?? I cannot seem to find a straight answer, anywhere.
I have KDSS with a 3” Fox 2.5 system with no spacer
@@ZacTexCsame here. Dr KDSS sells everything you need.
Why did u guys do a similar video installing a leveling kit and you used swaybar brackets to adjust mounting but no spacer. Then this video u used the spacer but no brackets? Which is it? Do I need both? 1 over the other?
There is a couple different ways of doing it. As of recently we use the parts from DR.KDSS. Depending on how much your 4runner is lift determines which style you get from them.
Why wouldn’t a spacer be installed on both sides?
Only one spacer is needed on the passenger (static side) bc the driver side articulates up and down depending on suspension travel .. the static side does not and if it’s not at a level position bc the vehicle has been lifted then the kdss does not work properly. In short driver side will fluctuate regardless but passenger will be off bc the kdss link is higher up without a spacer to push it back down to original (level ) position
can yall update the website for the kdss spacer?
Yes, sorry we are very busy.
Hello Works for Toyota 4Runner 2016 SR5
Yes it does!
Where is the best place to get a kdss spacer also what about the bushings?
spacers? why?
Because that's what the customer wanted.
Hello. Do you have interest in testing our Toyota 4 Runner product? If so, please reply to me.
Is this a 2inch leveling kit?
Yes, leveling kit from Icon
I have KDSS and installed a Eibach Stage 2 Pro truck lift with SPC UCA's. I was told that I wouldn't have issues but I am getting lots of binding noises when turning on angles mostly. Do I need KDSS Spacers in front and rear or just the front?
If you lifted the front and rear then I would get spacers for both.
Sooooo many better options than a spacer. Spacers are crap.
What options are better if one wants to ONLY eliminate the forward rake on a kdss 4Runner? Why are they better?
@@Keydet1992 bilstein 5100 are high adjustable and budget friendly. They won’t give you a crappy ride like spacers and are literally just all around better. You also have many more options but are more expensive and more intended for those are serious off readers.
@@djw5415 Not looking to tinker with KDSS suspension, just level out the front for aesthetic purposes only.
@@djw5415I think you might struggle with math and experience. Spacers don’t affect ride quality and 5100s cost much more
