I loved watching the London to Paris via the Shuttle and the London to Amsterdam via the Eurostar journeys as they brought back some lovely memories of trips I had done in them. First my late Mother and I took the Eurostar to the Gard de Nord in Paris and back for a weekend trip, then, a year later, I went on a coach trip to Paris and back with some people that I used to work with in a coffee shop in my local hospital. Whilst we were on the Shuttle some of us got off the coach and did some keep fit at one end of the it and others did a bit of dancing at the other end whilst we went through the tunnel (this was on the trip out to Paris, but I can't remember what we did on the trip home). The 2 main memories I had of the Eurostar trip were (a) having something called a Croque Monsieur (this, as I recall, was something like a toasted cheese sandwich) and (b) the trains were only about a year old, so the whole experience was very new for nearly everybody on board.
Hard to believe that after all this time, TfL and NetworkRail can't agree to install even ONE escalator at that exit from the tube to St P. Yes I know there's a tiny, slow lift in the corner. Every time I've been past it there's been a queue. St P is a flagship international station. Customers there typically have bulky bags. And they make people schlepp them up the steps or wait for the (also inadequate) lift.
Well that's in Commie states, and countries that hates freedom. Conservative states, and countries actually loves freedom, and ppl live their lives the way they want to live them, and us having responsibility which I'm fine with, and love. I don't like being told what to do with my life, and body by the corrupt government,or anybody, for that matter.
@gary gooddeal not really, only Londen City is fast but tickets to Londen City from Amsterdam very expensive, dont forget other UK airport will take one hour each way to get to the city center and back to the airport and you have to be 2 hours before a flight so train is better option for Amsterdam-Londen and also baggage is free with train with airlines it will cost a extra 50 to 60 euro.
@gary gooddeal well on your comment i can see you dont have much travel experience or you just are an arrognt business traveller: first of all there is already proof people use the train more, i live in Amsterdam, there are only 4 flight a day to Brussels and 10 to Paris to compare to 30+ flights to London why??? because here people dont fly anymore to brussels and paris its quiker by train and more comfort. and EXCUSES ME have you been to Amsterdam airport most bussiest and chaotic airport in europe you have to be there 2 hours before a flight and to UK also passport control you dont know what you are talking about , im working at the airport and travel alot with baggage at least 3 hours before flight, and handbagge you know that airlines makes the most of money of checked in baggage snd flights to London are always full and we take at least 30 percent of handbagge st the gate so no guarantee there. and 90 percent of people travel to Heathrow, luton, stansted , gatwick from there is at least 1 hour to the citycenter by train so from Amsterdam train is the best option only thing that people still fly will be because of the price and offcourse transit passagers.
I really enjoy these types of videos. You can see and hear everything going on, but you’re not distracted by a bunch of inane commentary. Just a quick little text to explain an important or interesting fact, then back to enjoying the video. Good job.
A good alternative to flying, though the queues are as bad as airports. When you fly, you waste a couple of hours going between the airports and the city centers, so timewise it's not so bad.
Video tip: When you focus on something with writing on it, such as the meal tray and your snack box, it's best to make sure things are oriented the correct way round so your viewer can read what's written. Your meal tray was essentially front to back.
A small clarification to the title: What most people would think of as "First Class" is the Business Premier service, with large plush seats and complimentary at-table meal. You travelled on Standard Premier, which is much more akin to business class or premium economy when flying (good legroom, reasonable seats, complimentary snacks). Standard on Eurostar is somewhat like economy class on a plane (less legroom, food must be purchased).
Business Premier gives you in addition lounge access, shorter check in time, separate queue for check-in/security and a better meal. That's it. Seats are the same.
Maybe it's Amsterdam, but in my option it's Munich. Munich is the most beautiful town in Europe, bavarian style with a hint of italian architecture. Come to Munich and you'll like it. 😉 Greetings from Germany and Bavaria.

The best part of train travel is that you go comfortably from city centre to city centre, as opposed to having to find some sort of transportation from some godforsaken airport tens of miles away from the actual city.
