The station at 34:13 is Amsterdam Sloterdijk and the reason that most people exited the train in Rotterdam is because from there you can reach most places in the Netherlands quicker than staying on till Amsterdam Centraal and catching a connection from there. The South Holland province is also the most populated province of the Netherlands. Only tourists and/or people living in the north/centre of Amsterdam will really stay on the train till Amsterdam.
The best part of the video is you walking out of the final train station and me seeing downtown Amsterdam for the first time....thank you, I enjoyed your video.
Thank you for sharing. I've always wanted to try the Eurostar. I think trains much more comfortable than planes because there's no need to wait at the airport for too long. By the way I know a discount can find cheaper train tickets, if you need it, I am happy to share ❤
I have done this journey a couple of times (returns too) and it works well. It is far preferable to the complete car crash that is flying through Schiphol in the last couple of years (once one of my favourite airports - now to be avoided at all costs) and I guess their problems have created more business for Eurostar. That having been said St Pancras departures is invariably uncomfortably over capacity with passengers and really needs sorting out and Amsterdam Centraal departures is similarly too small and the passport control (in my experience) unbelievably slow.
Unfortunately A’dam and R’dam eurostar service to London is pointless for most people living in the east of the netherlands. We usually take the train to Breda, change to Intercity Brussels and get on the eurostar in Brussels. Total traveltime from my hometown to London is about 6 hours.
Sadly true and also, Eurostar is pretty much full anyways so they have less incentive to innovate or create new routes through the tunnel, they are happy just expanding their brand in Europe, it's needlessly complicated every time you have to get out of the UK by land.
Sad to see that the eurostar still makes these ridiculously long stops in brussels. Thanks to these long stops, it usually is faster to change trans in brussels when travelling from the netherlands to and from london. As it defeats the purpose of the eurostar continuing after brussels (and hundreds of millions being spend on terminals for passport controls).
Don't know what I would prefer. Honestly from my point of view it's better to not have to change trains. But UK sadly has always been a special case. It's crazy to think they require passport control for travelling by train within Europe but that's sadly the case.
@@seekingtravel you don't have to change trains when I have taken over a train from either brussels or london crews from platform 3 and leaves within 10 odd minutes.
@@hd-gaming7506 usually they stop for 30 to 40 minutes in brussels, which is also shown in their timetable. And thing is, it is not needed, and this is also about perception. No matter how fast a train goes, it feels a lot slower if it stands still for half an hour.
@@seekingtravel honestly, not changing trains. I only took that route because it was half an hour faster (due to having a better connection to a local dutch train), and it was 80 euros cheaper for some reason. But it is more that such a long stop is completely unnecessary and has quite a negative impact on customer experience and journey time. Unless you are changing locomotives, a stop should not take more than 10 minutes.

Thanks for the clarification. Good to know.
19:17 Bridge, entering city of Halle, 15 km south of Brussels.
19:40 Lot, industrial estate.
19:55 Vorst, Audi factory.
Lovely video, so easy and comfortable to watch,
Thanks so much 😊

Damn. Now I wish I filmed more of it. :)
Nice, decent video without talking. I will travel to Londen from Rdam in sept this year.
Will you travel in silence aswell?
Thanks for this, I'm travelling on the Eurostar from St Pancras to Brussels soon and appreciated a look of the whole thing before I go!
Have fun!
@@seekingtravel Thanks! Leaving early tomorrow.
@@seekingtravel Was a splendid trip. The German ICEs are also incredibly nice and I'd say better for comfort than the eurostar to some degree.

could you share please
I’d love to find where you do this!
I hope they have a Eurostar from London to Berlin one of these days soon!
Oh that would be a dream!

Eurostar are planning on reopening Ebbsfleet & Ashford in late 2025
That's good news!

20min in Brussels. Why such a long stop
Honestly, I am not 100% sure. I think it has to do with re-stock or maybe waiting for passport procedures.
There is no 1 class lounge at St Pancrass Station, only a business class lounge.
