There’s SHOs running around with Livernois and Hennessy tunes making around 450hp and some good performance shops are getting upwards of 600hp and 500-550 tq. The torque comes in very early so that combined with AWD will get this heavy sedan off the line to 60mph in high 3 second range with a good tune. I’ve seen the CUVs with this engine pull away from Corvettes and the second gen 3.5 is even better in the Expeditions and Navigators, those 6,000lb yachts hit 60mph in 6 1/2 seconds STOCK..
Almost any Ecoboost + Livernois tune + larger than stock intercooler will produce unbelievable results. An aftermarket intercooler is a must if you want more than one 3 second range 0-60 time.
Yea i had my engine made by ford racing, same closed deck design livernois has. And the ford gt. Turbo upgrade, alky meth, upgraded ptu and intercooler and shift kit. With a custom tune. Its pushing around 630awhp as of now. No issues with it, 4 wheel burnouts are fun. Dumped 40k into a car i paid 30k for, i could have had a way faster vette or something but i love the 2013+ sho and made it into what i wanted
Not sure if you're using it but, it has an easy entry/easy exit feature...I heard they did away with it in some but not all 18s and 19s. But, it will move the seat and steering wheel back when you shut it off and move to your saved positions when started

I currently have a '12 SHO, a 402A equipment group, and the car is solid. I don't get most people's complaints against this car, but I do know this: to kill a dog, give it a bad name, and I think that's what most reviewers are doing to the SHO, so sad. I'm not a brand person but I love cars with an interior that speaks to me, and to me alone, and the SHO certainly communicates with me. You could say it was built for me? Admittedly it is not a perfect car, and no car is. The other car that speaks to me well is the '13-15 BMW Gran Coupe 650i/ Competition package.
Cold air intake exhaust and a tune and it’ll be a responsive beast and next time you get one of those turbo cars hold the brake a little charge the turbo then let off and floor it just like a diesel launching
Trevor Holland The intake and exhaust is not restricting take off. Torque peaks @ 1500 rpm. I don’t feel good power braking a high hp awd car. It doesn’t need anymore responsiveness. It burns too much fuel already.

The way I drive it I avg 19.7....now with tune, intercooler(Gearhead), 93 octane and 3 bar...I get 18 city, around 19 overall but I can get over 30 mpg highway keeping under 70 at steady speed, with AC on....this is the most comfortable and FUN car I ever had!
Not exactly. its different depending on which SHO youre driving. On this model, dropping to S = sport mode as it sharpens up throttle response and does not utilize 6th gear until very high speed. You can double tap TC button to put advanced trac into sport mode also. If youre running an SHO PP - not shown in this video- you can do a full disable of the the nannies and advanced track, by dropping into sport mode, applying full break and holding TC button for 5 seconds. ON the PP's this really livens the car up. All in all the S is "Sport mode" its just not all the changes you can make on some of these cars. -SHO PP owner.
the performance package option is badA$$ . Your sho doesnt have it. @10:22 if you shut the car off, the seat automatically goes all the way back and the steering wheel lifts up so you can get in and out easy. You left the car running so it was more difficult.
Just bought a 2013 Limited, yes it is a bit claustrophobic. And I'm a 5'2" woman. They made the trunk and backseat too large. Another design flaw is visibility...back window is too small and the columns in front window too wide. Just what I could afford at the moment.
Take off those Peel Here stickers on your rims. I detail cars at dealerships and some customers will leave them on for years and it will create a permanent square on your rims and will stand out pretty bad.
I've really noticed new cars getting worse gas mileage than the older ones, I mean maybe it's the AC systems getting more and more complex with higher pressures. But it shouldn't be much of any extra drag with the electric steering nowadays I just can't figure it out.

I google 2010 sho which is when this car came out. The 2019 hp is the same and Car & Driver say it's 12 psi. I thought it would be higher but because of the DOHC. It don't need as much boost.

I like the look of the front of the 2010-2012 models. They look like a Taurus. The 2013-2019 front looks like they was trying to give it a mustang look. Not feeling it.
A car for someone who just likes driving a nice US-made sedan with some pretty serious go, for its own sake, without a bunch of bling and a wing on it to try to impress the laaaydaaayz. sadly GM will probably sell a hundred lime green turbo I-4 Camaros at $33k for every one of these. at a 45k price tag it's just a bit of a hard sell, new.
My 09 Mercury Sable premier 3.5 will smoke that car and I always smoke Taurus. They tweeked the Sables transmission to do a lil over 6 seconds years ago. Buuutttt for such a big car Ford keeps the horsepower and Torque up on all their vehicles

Stock is 5.2 for 0-60. My 2014 SHO which is exactly the same as this car but I have an aftermarket tune from Gearhead and it does 0-60 in 4.2!
That one would not do it not quicker than 6 seconds.
You said you were using a manual stopwatch as well. Probably human error on your part because the 0-60 is not 6 seconds.

The “S” on the shifter is for Standard shift not Sport ... to get in the Sport Mode you have to do other things.

My 2016 F150 is great on gas if i stay out of it.
Also I think the Taurus was so bad because the engine make 350 pot from 1500 rpm up to maybe 3500 rpm. It take fuel to hold on to that much torque.
Its the AWD system, creates too much drag on the highway. I own one, they get terrible mileage. It is a 4400 lb car as well .

The is no 2019 FORD TAURUS, Ford has discontinue this type, the last one was in 2018. Ford decided to scrap it off because of decline in sales.
