This animation gives me WILD Felix Colgrave (the creator of Double King, etc.) vibes, but manages to stand all on it's own through a cleverly made soundtrack, captivating visuals, heavy usage of video game tropes, and all around heart. This is inspired work, and its clear you had fun seeing this idea to fruition. I'm excited for more! A serious delight to watch. I expect a full Meatball Man waltz.

I would like to point out that Grobletombus Marble Eyes is credited as the god of the CONCEPT of Life. As such, they are not the god of life, or birth, or anything of the sort, but rather the ideas that people have about it. As such, it seeks to punish Runmo for not doing as people conceive should be the right thing for life. Even though all Runmo wants to do... Is live.
I mean out of everything here that was the one scene that went absolutely nowhere. It could have been cut with no effect on the plot. It just stand out bruh.
Honestly my favorite character out of this whole animation is the one eyed sign And i love how at the meatball man part, it takes him forever to get to the other side but then takes him like 5 seconds to run back.

Sadly enough, I think Grobletombus Marble Eyes was probably the nicest, friendliest creature in the entire story, all things considered, and if he hadn't failed his platforming section, Runmo probably would have been stuck in time/space jail for eternity, but with someone who'd patiently at least explain philosophy to him. In the Meatball Man room, anyone else notice that Runmo easily ran back to safety faster than he did running forward? I guess it fits with the concept of being more afraid of dying than living.

I like how Runmo can probably see that the path he’s on leads to an endless abyss at the end, but is so happy that he runs towards it without a care in the world anyways. I like to think he’s exploring it as a ghost now.

With the height of that room’s ceiling, that tiny hand must have been going down before the king was punched in the face, quite an advanced system to predict when somebody is about to be punched.
We really have the feeling that this animation was the first concept for the serie "the amazing digital circus". Well, I'm saying that. But this is probably the kind of univers concept Gooseworx loves and decided to use it as his mark of production. Even if it's a concept that is a little bit overused in the creativity industry (For twists, revelation or as the main focus of a story), It is very interesting and that gives tones of possibilities.
Its weird when i get actually scared, but the meatball man just made me feel like this video got into my wierdest yet scariest nightmares, that scene some will find it funny but i found it really unnerving, something that made me feel really weird and scared like never before, congrats to the person who made this animation 10/10 this is the exact representation of what anxiety and weirdness would look like.
It was probably because Runmo knew it was inevitable and he wasn't able to make it, no matter how fast he ran the meatball man was still going to kill him and he panicked and turned back. Running much faster than he had before, he probably would have made it if he ran that fast and kept going Okok I just rewatched it- it's also bc the meatball man is in the background slowly coming closer with that weird ass but funny screaming song And i now have proof that Runmo would've made it, he was a little bit more than half way before he turned back
That's existential dread my guy because something infinitely vaster than you with alien form and unknown intentions is just straight up looming over you slowly getting closer.

At the end, we still see Meatball Man floating there and he's only lost like a quarter of his face. Clearly he's the most powerful character here the death of the universe only scarred him
Well that's how life is. You see an obstacle most would assume to be easy but you have difficulty overcoming. So you look for any way around it; you seek aid from unhelpful acquaintances, a person in a position of power, and when all else fails you look for an easier path that just makes things worse. Ultimately when he did decide to overcome, Runmo found that his reward was disappointment, as he'd made everything else so much worse simply in pursuit of an easier life.

Meatball man is really something of a Lovecraftian horror: you can’t beat him, you can’t even fight him, all you can do is to try not to be driven mad by just knowing that he is somewhere out there, and hope that he never considers you or your world anything worth destroying or conquering. All you can do, is hide in a corner and pray for your life to not be ended by this eldritch horror that, no doubt, has already destroyed countless worlds and will destroy many more.
"The pursuit of life is more dangerous than a life in pursuit" is one of those quotes that I will likely use in a serious conversation one day and will have to explain where I got it from with a straight face. I don't know how I'll do that. Anyways, this video is all around brilliant.

Assuming the game has no control issues, it's fairly simple. Not typically the first obstacle you see, but simple nonetheless.
Well that's how life is. You see an obstacle most would assume to be easy but you have difficulty overcoming. So you look for any way around it; you seek aid from unhelpful acquaintances, a person in a position of power, and when all else fails you look for an easier path that just makes things worse. Ultimately when he did decide to overcome, Runmo found that his reward was disappointment, as he'd made everything else so much worse simply in pursuit of an easier life.
I watched this video the day it was first released and I love this video, especially the music, even though I haven't watched it for 3 years, I still don't forget it
