Hi Paul, great video,the race chip sounds like it improves the power,easy to install with the wires.
They all work. For semi enthusiast they are great set and forget. That said you can get the most out of it with better fuel and changing the settings.

how many hp did it originally make and how many does it make rn?
They said my Competizione could not be wired with Go fast Pedal and will only take the GTS kit...What's the reason??? anybody? 2013 AXD1A Abarth I liked the suggested handiness of the adjustment of the turn lit up and down knob dial ....a little disappointing

Jonny 595 Abarth smiler. I tried to get an additional tune-up box for acceleration improvement but the Race Chip doesn't do it for my 2013 Abarth Competizione. Wish you had shown more detail brightly lit up so as to be able to see connections clearly as I'm no spring chicken but its good fun during these testing times .GB.. Keep up the good vids and keep well .These wee cars are addictive !

I had a Saab 9-5 2.0t with 150hp and 250nm of torque. Had a Noobtune Stage 1 remap which made 220hp and 360nm of torque. Karl has been doing them for years and I have never heard of a car going bad because of his remap. 70bhp increase for £95 (yes, ninety five quid). Just send off your ECU and it's back in days.
Do you mind if I asked if you put these things through insurance?

I ordered a GTS black for my 2019 Dodge Hellcat Challenger. They sent me instructions which included photos of a Volkswagen and Mercedes engine compartments. Kind of threw me for a loop. I called and they emailed the 4 sensor connection photos that I needed. Not sure why they didn't have Hellcat Specific Instructions to begin with.

Watched this earlier myself and it was very eye opening. Especially the way race chip couldn't provide any specific reasons to the failiure to meet the figures. Don't understand the tuning box appeal, my remap was only £250 and that included a dyno to tune the map.

They didn't do well at all and for £450 it's a rip off . With a remapping it can be removed and the base map reinstalled

Hey Paul! I've seen your date being Jan01 and your clock blinking, i also did this swap to my car and never got to the bottom of setting up the time and date! Have you managed to set them? Thanks alot mate!
The reason why you cant set the clock or date is because you need to set it by the radio that matches the TFT speedo.
I’ve used SA Tuning #Truetune works quite well and can be put back standard when needed
Of course you can return your flash back to stock. Depends on the car but more OEM's are putting code detection in their PCM's, such as BMW to deny you warranty work if you show up with a blown engine, turbo, transmission, etc and they know you modded your car. The only thing you need to do to remove piggybacks is to make sure any long term codes have been removed from the computer. Other than wear on the connectors, nobody is that serious... There is no way to tell.

paul, i`ve asked "various valeters" on you tube for advice no reply, (i know your not a valeter) but i`m looking for a good quality product to use on my skoda superb, i want something for the interior dash/ door cards etc(they`re black) but i dont want a shiny finish, just a matt finish, have you used anything you`d recommend?

I tend to use Auto finesse APC as it cleans but does not leave a shiny finished.

How much does a race chip cost
depends on the car, check them out on their website.
The look on your face was sufficient proof that you were experiencing some noticeable performance improvements :-)
you time isflashing on dash due to issue with new speedo you should know this before replace it
I am aware of the time issue, but it isnt an issue for me.
This will need a software update.
I like your vids but disagree about the racechip checkout darkside developments latest video about them. They mainly increase rail pressure above safe levels and guarantee, what do you think they are going to guarantee come on lets get real.
I agree with you on that, it's just resistor in a fancy box ( asking for silly money ££££ , , I've made one myself ( cost no more than a tenner with the plugs) and it does make a difference only to a certain level that's it ( lowering the voltage signal , in a way is tricking the ECU) .
You wanna get more proper power , get a remap .

To add to it , you probably feel the difference only after 2000rpm ,below it's just standard stock .
Paul having it on high settings it will definitely trigger the engine light and goes into limp mode.

DO NOT GET ONE OF THESE OVER A CUSTOM REMAP!!
Custom remaps (On Dyno) are the safest way to get power from a vehicle full stop!
1.Darkside developments on TH-cam busted racechip and every other chip device.
2. A decent remapping company like darkside and my centurion Tuning give warranty.
3. The power outputs nothing like what they say, but yes you get gains but not ass big as they say.
4. You pay the same if not more than actual remaps.
5. If your getting the XLR and the tuning box you be over £370 deep. You go Centurion Tuning you will a custom dyno stage one remap. Not generic map but actually made for your car and will normally save a little money.
6. Any DPF, EGR etc deletes RaceChip don't.
A good tuning company will adjest the throttle with the map. I have XLR with my stage 3 from Centurion Tuning to help with my fuel so it's not as sensitive.
Should just get a proper map
I have nothing against a remap, I went down this route as it only cost me £14
Cars For Paul i run one ages ago and then got the ECU re wrote with live mapping and it’s unbelievable how much of a difference there is and with actual prof of what I’m running where as the tuning box is dependent on each individual engine
That race chip company has a lot of bad reviews, not honouring warranty and people finding it hard to get a refund. i think i would rather use superchips as i have used them on lots of my cars to remap rather than using race chip, they also do a device called bluefin which is plug and play, bit more expensive but you get what you pay for and the company has been going for 40 years. look them up.

Ohh Paul the race chip will never out perform a remap. There are many reasons for this, they can’t adjust turbo boost limiters - Torque limiters - throttle response - injection timing - AFR - and so on. Many people mod there car with exhausts, induction kits, inter coolers and so on the racechip can’t be adjusted to take the engine mods in consideration. The only way to get the full benefit of any engine mod is to remap them in if you don’t you will lose HP not gain it. Also a remap can be removed and the vehicle put back to standard at anytime. Looking at installation a remap is a lot less invasive and there is no visual sign of a remap. Price is also a concern the racechip is expensive for what it is, where a remap on your Abarth would be around £300 with a warranty. That’s just my everyday experience with any tuning box
Hi Brian, first of all, I have nothing against remaps, I went the racechip route because I had the old one from my TT which meant I could upgrade it to fit my Abarth for £14, plus the racechip comes with a warranty too. If I was buying new, I would most likely go down the remap route.

i had one in mine it was a piece of shit
interesting, thats not what I found in mine, defo made a difference, especially in the low rev range.
every time i put my foot down in mine the eml came on and would shudder, no other problem with the car, had one on 2 cars now and they were both crap 🙄
