Thanks. The car was great, and thanks for the flyby on the way out - made my night hearing that 26 under the hood fly on by, followed by the IS300 with the FAT turbo. If you're in the area again sometime, hit me up, I could set up a photoshoot.
@KoolBoi815 its called a two-step, it is a special setting on the ECU that allows the driver to set a second rev limiter so the car can build boost before a launch. It is used mainly on large turbo drag racing cars so the can reduce turbo lag. Because of it essentially bouncing of of it's rev limiter they spit flames.
@MrShiver55 2step is a type of launch control. Your engine maintains a certain preset rpm while your foot is flat to the floor on the accelerator pedal. You drop the clutch and turn off the "2step" for a great launch
Well the thing is about dual or single tip is the amount of cylinders or if your running a turbo. Most NA 4inline sport a manifold that puts the 4 exits to 1. Take for instance a BMW 6inline, it combines the first 3 into one and that last 3 into another giving you dual pipes. Which go from front to back dual. that's why v8's mostly have duals as well.
yea for sure but im not bringing the car back out till next year in the spring, the car is down for the winter cause im doing some suspension upgrades and etc.
MegaJalen123, they are using a 2 step, it basically remaps ur motor to have a rev limmiter so u build boost and launch at the right rpm, Mitsubishi evos have one standard and Subaru sti has one but u have to get a laptop and basically turn it on
from what i hear two things can make the flames occur 1. is removing the catlyic converter which is illegal in many states and 2. is as R33240 said the antilag or misfiring system installed on your car. but in this video i believe its the anti lag system because it makes that fun but abnoxious sound when firing the flame. an antilag system drastically reduces the life of your engine and turbo so my advice would be unless you have money or a couple of sr20det motors laying around dont do it
Nope, spot on. Air (Intake or exhaust) needs to flow with the least resists. Though changing your intake or exhaust to a free flow item will only create more horsepower and sometimes even create less torque. Though you want to have more torque in daily traffic. So changing your exhaust or intake will only benefit you on the track. :)
@RedlineXD Thanks! Its decent for coming out of an D-SLR, but I'm hoping I can snag myself a real HD cam corder in the next few months. I'm sick of crappy quality on vids too haha. Its the era of HD, lets get people using High Def cameras at least! lol.
@Ril3yIzBac 1.doesent matter if its a silvia for a s13 2.all 240sx's are coupes 3. You need to run the car rich and get a anti-lag or 2 step launch setup
Ideally, a straight pipe from the manifold would be best because the air would find minimal resistance to its way out. And you would have to find the proper width for the exhaust in order to have optimum performance. Then again, a huge straight pipe in an underpowered car (prius) could cause power loss because there needs to be a necessary backpressure in the exhaust gases. The more complex the exhaust, the more complex it is for air to get out. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong :)
the 240sx is so clean. But I have an honest question about exhuasts. no disrespect, but I perfer the look of dual tips(two tips attached together on one side, NOT one exhaust on each side). but it seems like everybody has a wide exhaust like this one. do you get better flow with one like yours? or would it not make much of a difference if i just put a dual-tip muffler? In a nutshell, which is better for the car's performance? P.S. I dont have a car, Im 17. I really wanna know. thanks
Thanks for the insight. haha is it really that ricy to have the dual tip? it all opinions, but it looks so clean as opposed to the fat mufflers, especially on the s13.but yeah thanks again.
Even with the a/f ratio perfect the cars would still burn excess fuel and make flames depending on which part of the combustion the said rev limiter is cutting, some 2-steps cut ignition, while others cut fuel, if it cuts ignition then you will for sure get fire. Personally i wouldnt use one that cuts fuel though.
The two best Inline-6 motors together in two great cars; the RB26 in an S14, and the 2JZ-GTE in an Altezza.
Just great.
omfg the quality for this has dazed me out way more than a friggin double rainbow.
and the s13's backfire is amazing.
Thanks. The car was great, and thanks for the flyby on the way out - made my night hearing that 26 under the hood fly on by, followed by the IS300 with the FAT turbo. If you're in the area again sometime, hit me up, I could set up a photoshoot.
nice video ! the quality looks soo good ! those two cars make it even better!
I'm amazed by the quality of this video.

jesus, the IS and the 240 are just gorgeous! great vid.
i didnt kno wat to pay attention to ,
How beautiful and clear tha camera is or how amazing tha 240sx and tha lexus is300 is
simply amazing
This quality makes the video 100x better!
the sound of the is300 at the end wen he reved it a lil is one of the best sounds in the world
2 of the best tuner cars next to each other... thats what heaven is

RB26 & 2JZ. Two of the best motors in the world. Epic.
@jcmcclung it's called a 2 step. It times the spark to get optimum rpm and spool for launch.
@NissanUnderground the body is Ford. The suspension is either Tien or Eibach custom kits.
@Lateralusum The RB26 already uses a pair of T28 turbos. That sound you're referring to is made by installing a blow off valve (BOV).
aw mann both are so beautiful, nice work guys nice work

RB and JZ. Two of the greatest.
yea for sure but im not bringing the car back out till next year in the spring, the car is down for the winter cause im doing some suspension upgrades and etc.

I love the LM GT4s on the S14. Great quality camera aswell
Wow the camera quality is sick !
I like that the 240sx looks more stock except for the pipe and the rims.
dude has the best cam on youtube
yo sick camera! You need to make more videos with this camera b/c it's so noticeable. Props big time man!

that s14 is so god damn clean
Nice to see Mo boys on here
this video made my day, Thank You :)
those cars are nice but your camera is amazing!
even in lowest quality it looks hd holy god thats a nice camera
@wiickednezz
there the nismo lmgt4 wheels with 18x8.5 on the front with 235/40/18 tires and the rear is 18x9.5 with 275/35/18 tires
@240sxRule When I bought it, that plus the lenses came to a total of around $1550 or so.
wow great camera and great cars
love those rims on the 240sx
two titans flexing their might
what camera are you shooting this with, i love the quality compared to all the other videos latley on youtube.
never got why that amazed people.
boy.. one hell of a race there..
Rotaries naturally run rich, so this creates a LOT of flame shooting out the back when the throttle is pulsed at high RPM's.
The rb engine is Nissan's inline 6. Not a rotary.
@RedlineXD Thanks! Its decent for coming out of an D-SLR, but I'm hoping I can snag myself a real HD cam corder in the next few months. I'm sick of crappy quality on vids too haha. Its the era of HD, lets get people using High Def cameras at least! lol.
Two badass cars with badass exhausts and what kind of camera are you using its awsome.
i love your vid cam!!!!
@Ril3yIzBac 1.doesent matter if its a silvia for a s13 2.all 240sx's are coupes 3. You need to run the car rich and get a anti-lag or 2 step launch setup
North Outer Road of 70 in Saint Peters between Dave Sinclair Lincoln/Mercury and the Behlmann Carnection. It's a church that used to be a dealership.

lovin the flames. What kinda camera are you using? you got nice footage even at night i see
The 2jz sounds so good
That silvia sounds like a mad warrior cat.
this looks sick bro, PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT UR CAMERA!!!!! lol did u use filters or something? looks so sick cant beleive it, most respect bro
you guys release the popcorn sound is launch control? that's the reason for the strange sound
@NissanUnderground
very well spoken man kudos
That JZ sounds amazing :)
Also, what camera were you using to film this? I liked the focus and contrasts effects.
I have the same exact wheels on my 240. Rota pf-45's hell yes
@hector1130 Nice, how's the 1.4 look? I've always wondered if it was the extra money for just .4 difference.
the quality of the camera is incridible, what kind is it?
GREAT cars :) They sound amazing!
finally a car video with a HD camera...
What type of camera is it>
the 240sx is so clean. P.S. I dont have a car, Im 17. I really wanna know. thanks
@vietznamese afterfire only harms the catalytic converter, which on most performance cars have removed anyway... better to run rich than lean.
now i think about it i just realized how good the camera quality is. what kind of camero are you using?
no race? man i was wanting to see a race
What kind of camera you using? Looks like it records really good.
two beauties, lets see em run.
@stc2008lt you mind me asking how much that camera costs? with that setup and errything
nice quality, what camera are u using?
@vietznamese How do you prevent it? Because it seems like bought of them have the problem
@vietznamese how do you make the air=fuel? A smaller exhaust?
Thanks for the insight. haha is it really that ricy to have the dual tip?
it all opinions, but it looks so clean as opposed to the fat mufflers, especially on the s13.but yeah thanks again.
Yep. R32 ones can even go as low as $3000-4000. I'm obviously talking about used ones. A brand new one is like $40,000.
damn like mini explosions in the exhaust from the 240 haha
Looks like a movie
Yeah I know but I wanna know what cam is it...
Beautiful.
Now that I look at em, I think those are Nismo wheels.. Nismo LMGT4. SEXY rims :)
Why not see which cars faster better?
@spectowin how does that help performance? i cant figure it out
ha i thought this was a movie for a second. what camera was that? very nice cars...i love the sound of RBs and 2JZs
Damn i want those rims on the 240sx
How do the Cars Do that? like the Fire?
Even with the a/f ratio perfect the cars would still burn excess fuel and make flames depending on which part of the combustion the said rev limiter is cutting, some 2-steps cut ignition, while others cut fuel, if it cuts ignition then you will for sure get fire. Personally i wouldnt use one that cuts fuel though.
Agreed.... rotary on 2step owns all.
@Spiegel420 Sorry I'll probably seem dumb for asking this.. But what does 2step mean?
@vietznamese oh okay, I completely understand, I thought that the exhaust itself was messed up. Thank you sir
Gotta love launch control
it looks like how a racing movie starts
These guys either have strangely tuned engines or anti-lag systems. This is like group A rally from the '80s!
I'm from Columbia, MO as well I need to meet the guy who owns the IS300.
that is300 wrecked back in 2009 but he has a couple of new toys now.
i think i was admiring the camera quality more than the cars mufflers O.o
theres a difference between ric and authentic sports cars and this one is legit.
@vietznamese why is his car doing the afterfire though?
PLEASE tell me the name of the exhaust for the IS300!!!
wow those cars look like they came straight out of the rice factory
what kind of camera are you using? and what kinda lens?
Is the misfiring system illegal in Australia?
wat type of lens were u using on the camera
RB > KA / SR... even tho i'm a 2J guy myself. sweet cars, sweet vid!
