I always thought without a tune you wouldn’t gain much, 20 WHP is legit. I have a midpipe on my G80 and it sounds like I should test it out to see if my times are any better than stock.
Great video with all the right info and testing done correctly. Really appreciate it. I’ve always said single mids are the way to go, and for these cars the bigger the better. 👍🏼
Thank you for doing this. This is the exact mid pipe I was curious about its gains if any. 21 horsepower is impressive, it's really breathing better up top as you can see on the graph. I wish you would've did a before and after on the M3 since it's making more boost I wonder if the M3 gained even more power since the mid pipe lets the turbos work better.
You’re welcome & thank you for checking the video out! 💯 I wasn’t sure what to expect but was impressed with the HP gains from a simple mod. I plan on runnning the M3 CS in the dyno soon but I need to find an AWD Dynojet nearby. I’m consigning a single turbo setup and want baseline numbers .
Incredible what our s58s can do man, so much potential. I'm currently running the 4'' prototype from MAD and it sounds absolutely menacing, much more throatier, less rasp i am love with it.
S58’s are one of the most potent platforms currently on the market. They respond very well to mods. great to hear you have the MAD 4” prototype. The 4” single sounds 😈
Sounds great and power gain is remarkable from just a single mid. One thing I’m still debating between this vs MAD single is that the Miltek chassis Brace seems to be extremely flimsy, not sure how that’s going to affect the chassis rigidity.
I agree! The Milltek mid pipe is a solid choice. Personally I would choose the Milltek over the MAD single. Due to the unique way they merge both downpipes & the 4” design. For what’s it’s worth…The Milltek brace is not flimsy at all and offers the necessary clearance and rigidity.
@@carguy302 Seriously considering Miltek now, thanks to your video haha. I’m really interested in the Miltek version where they merge the pipe again with a rear X-pipe. Sound signature could be really unique!
Great Video & results. I would imagine you would also save a little weight, run a little cooler and possible save a little fuel (if driven the same way). 👏👏👏👍 Wonder if this will be applicable for the forthcoming new M2 CS (deposit paid 😉)
Thank you! The car is a tad quicker as well. Just tested it out in my M3CS with the Milltek mid pipe. Congrats on your inbound M2 CS That’s going to be the pinnacle of modern BMW’s.
I purchased mine from EAS ( European Auto Source) & my friend purchased his from Mike @ XHP. Both are well known and reputable vendors on Bimmerpost. Check out their website for details.
Didn’t try to fit it in the trunk because it didn’t fit in my M3 when I got my Milltek installed. That’s a great name for the midpipe “Milltek Mandingo” 😆
Pretty crazy how much power it gains with just 1 mod. I love this platform
I was shocked that it gained over 20whp with just a midpipe. This platform is super impressive.

Thank you! I appreciate you checking the video out. Milltek hit a home run with their midpipe. There is nothing like it on the market.

Man that is an awesome machine!
Yes it is! The M2 is on another level.

@@troysong33 You're welcome my man! I'm hearing the x pipe version is for OPF cars only but I could be mistaken.
@@carguy302They also have cars with our US non-OPF ones and I believe one of our BimmerPost members got one and would post sound clips soon!
@@troysong33 Interesting 🤔 I’d like to hear it

Awesome car!
I’m with you on that. The M2 is an impressive car.
Where did you guys get the midpipe from? Have a part number by any chance? They make like a million different pipes 😅

What’s the best single midpipe in your opinion? Quality, performance, and tone wise
My favorite is the Milltek 4” single mid pipe. Great quality, price & it sounds amazing. 😈
Did the box not fit in the car?
PS you should put which midpipe in the title. 4" AKA mandingo 😆
Didn’t try to fit it in the trunk because it didn’t fit in my M3 when I got my Milltek installed. That’s a great name for the midpipe “Milltek Mandingo” 😆
Did you have to map it after taking cats out
No, a remap is not needed. The primary cats are still in place.
Weight saving?
Yes sir. It’s weighs less than the stock mid pipe.
