I'm so glad to see JHud swimming and encouraging people to learn how to swim. With 320,000 annual drowning deaths worldwide, drowning is the 3rd leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide. We need more public pools and people need to learn how to swim. JHud did a great job. I ❤JHud.
@lavenberry, What adults don’t know how to swim? It’s extremely important to know how, I don’t see how someone wouldn’t know how - you kick you legs- dog paddle keep yourself above water. A skill everyone as a child should know
As an Aquatics specialist for 40 years, Ryan took her through the initial steps so well, helping her get past her fears! We can stop drownings if everyone can overcome just some of their fears and learn to swim! Congratulations JD! So proud of you!
Congratulations, Jhud!! Everyone should learn how to swim! Especially when you become a parent. Never know when you might need it. It's better to know it and not need it than to need it and not know it💜
I wouldn’t mind learning how to swim 🏊♂️ if Ryan was teaching me either. The guy has won 12 medals 🥇 so I say he’ll be the perfect teacher. #nevertolatetolearn
Yessss Jennnn 🎉 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾 I’m 34 and I learned how to swim last year! After that Memorial Day when a little girl drowned 😔🙏🏾 at the local beach where I felt so helpless and wanted to be able to do something should I be around swimming kids in the future! Everyone should know how to swim or at least float! Even the kiddos
I really like Jennifer as a person and artist she has an amazing voice and she can sing I m so mad she’s not getting the appreciation that she deserves
Congratulations J! And thank you for being vulnerable to show us how tory and learn, to be brave, stretch ourselves, try again, and overcome our fears on the way to mastering a new skill. This video right here is a massive gift to soooo many fellow humans ... more than you've could even imagine. 💌
Thank you, Jenniffer, for this. I am encouraged. Last year March at 54, I faced my fear of water and took up swimming lessons. I will be turning 56 on 28 November and still taking the lessons. I am now comfortable in water and with water and can do all strokes, freestyle, froggie, butterfly and backstroke. Indeed, one is never too old to learn
Learned to swim in my 30s, partly by watching Lochte swim videos on TH-cam. Changed my life. Ryan is correct, the confidence you gain the pool translates to confidence outside the pool.
Yeeeessss !🥰Shout out to you, Jenny and your ( instructor) Ryan Lochter. Being coaching by someone who makes one self trust and emerge the own capabilities is ✨💎✨!
This makes me so happy to see. I didn't have access to a pool growing up and didn't learn to swim until late into my teens. I'm still a bit self conscious about my swimming skills and cannot dive but I think it's so important to try/learn.
Jennifer girl you got this! You did Super great! Congratulations! Jennifer girl you look so young with that swim cap on your complexion is radiant Sending Love from Georgia ❤ God Bless U.
I love Jennifer's coach! Loved the way he introduced swimming to her! Love the fact that he says he loves the water and it's his happy place! That's inspirational! That's the kind of teacher a person wants!
Ryan seems like a really nice guy. We all did things we regret and weren’t the brightest when we were young. It’s great to see him contributing and putting his talents to good use.
Yeah!! I learned to swim when I was a child at the YMCA, where my great uncle was the director at the time. But you, Jennifer, have inspired me to get back to it cause I know I have gotten rusty now.😊❤
Congratulations !! You did it!! Keep practicing! Try floating backwards and do the back stroke so you can look up at the sky when you swim! It is so relaxing and beautiful. 👑🩷
Learning to swim even as an adult is vitally important. Dont settle for being near the water, looking cute in a swimsuit, just being in the shallow end or not even knowing how to save yourself or child if you fall in. You can take lessons at your local pool or YMCA. Lessons aren't that expensive but can save your life.
Ryan you are awesome for teaching people how to swim. Very excited and happy for You Jennifer that you were given a gift that will not only help you to maintain your body and mind in good health but now you will be able to enjoy more quality time with your family. ✌🏼🤙🏼
Wow! I'm so glad you are learning how to swim. My man Walter is the lifeguard. I feel him, that's your best friend so he's guarding your life! Swimming is all in the kicking j. You did a great job so proud of you! Keep being amazing J.♥️✌🏿💪🏿🌹
I taught my great nephew and niece this past summer how to swim. I am no longer fearful when they come to my home, because now they can swim in the pool.
I learned how to swim at 50, but Jennifer was so much more brave than I. I won't try swimming anywhere deeper than 5 ft. I'm scared of not being able to touch the bottom of the pool. I've checked everything on my bucket list, but one... skydiving.
@@latoyaamb3r Next time you're at a pool, take a "pool noodle" and ride it as you would a horse on a carousel. Start a bicycle kick, and gently spread your arms across the surface of the water, front and back, as if you're moving beach sand. After awhile, you'll be able to do it without the noodle. If you're uncomfortable at first, hold onto the rim of the pool with one hand to steady yourself, but be sure to "scoop sand" with the other. The key with treading water is that it be done nice and easy, so that you should be able to carry on a conversation while doing it.
@@latoyaamb3rTreading water is a skill in itself. I practice it a few minutes at the end of my sessions almost every time I swim, so I don’t forget how to do it.
That was so generous of this Olympic pro to take the time to teach an absolute beginner how to swim. Wonderful segment 🏊🏾♀️

You mean Blk people? Nothing against your statement at all.

She did so good. And Ryan taught her well. Congratulations JHud!
I thought I was the only one who didn't know how to swim! Thank you, Jennifer, for the inspiration--congrats on doing such a stellar job!
😢Me too thats why I took my son to learn. NOT sure about me😢
I’m not a swimmer. I want my son to swim and then he can teach me.

So proud of JHud. Many adults can't overcome their fear of water to even try. This was awesome to watch.

I taught swimming at the Y for years and always told my adult students, "they're the same strokes, whether or not you're over your head." :-)
