    I was 10 and into everything Byrne did. So dynamic. No idea what happened later.

    I was 6 or 7 and this issue and an issue of IRON FIST were my introduction to John Byrne’s comic art. I read them over and over again, knowing they were different somehow than my other comics. More exciting. By the 80s I was a super fan.

      Byrne is one of those artists who is instantly recognizable. I don't think there has ever been a real, consistent Byrne imitator. I don't use imitator negatively. Phil Jimenez is great, but he is a Perez imitator. Nobody I can think of has imitated Byrne's unique excellence.

    Am I misunderstanding her, or did Carol say that she'd sacrifice an ocean liner full of innocent civilians (2,000+ people) if it meant beating Super Skrull? I'm going to have read that part again, because that sounds like a villain monologuing, not an obligatory superhero speech. Good grief.
