Looks great! To note, the 85 is EMG’s highest output pickup. It’s been my go to bridge pickup since 1985. The Alnico just makes it warmer. Great video and work as always 🤘🏼💪
LOVE that splatter over (subtle) crackle! The light(er) blue over the black/navy is definitely popping, and the splatter gives the guitar a 'spacey' look, which is really cool.
I second this too, the isopropyl alcohol weakens adhesive, dirt, dust, and oil. Plus it evaporates quick. It's my go too for cleaning FR and Ibanez bridges or about any bridge and hardware.
Came out great. I have one of the original Jackson JDR-24 in blue. It's so hard to find that I wouldn't sell it because I'll never be able to get it again in fantastic condition.
Been watching these trash to thrash videos since day 1 and man you have grown and gotten so creative with all these paint jobs and custom builds. Keep working man!!
Wooooow, AMAZING! I've the same Guitar from the 90' "my very first Guitar" taken when I was 14 y.o. Thank you so much, now I already have an idea on how to revive it!!!😉 GRATZ FOR THE CHANNEL!
wow Can’t believe someone hasn’t bought this guitar yet just looked at it on his website and only $1400 that is an absolute steal, considering something like that from the Jackson custom shop will cost you 2-3 times that price keep up the great work bro rock on 🤘🏻
Very nice guitar. You doing diff paint-jobs is why I watch your stuff; I'm not impressed seeing the trillionth friggin' red/black/white Frankenstrat copy. Really looking forward to the next episode!
I thought Gotoh made the high end Floyd Rose hardware - either way, the Gotohs are definitely top notch. Amazing work on the paint and that wiring job is so damn clean. I really appreciate how much care you put into the details of these builds!
Sweet guitar. I like the white pickups. I'm building an explorer kit and repainting 2 other guitars. Neon yellow js22 and a red with black crackle glarry strat. I also have a modded js34q hss rout with just an emg 81. Floyd rose with brass l block. Have a white king v js32 with the black bevels and an ibanez that's got led mods lol.
Pretty rad. Gold hardware over those colors would've been cool too. Maybe orange splatter over the blue/black crackle? Using the lighter blue as the base coat might make the crackle pop more (especially if using orange splatter or something). Supercawesome guitar though.
That guitar does look incredible. The only thing I’m curious about is how would the finish look using red and orange under the crackle and some yellow-orange splatter? Like “liquid hot magma?” Keep up the amazing work, good sir, and have a great day.
Looks amazing! But I definitely would've made sure that cavity was big enough to allow for pulling the trem back before painting. It's only a half functional tremolo now.
yet again, crazy good rebuild on this one too. watching your videos is pretty inspiring, ironically because i have 4 project guitars for 2 years and have barely even started on only one. i will be contacting you shortly. by the way, awesome work. i look forward to having you rebuild and mod some of mine.
dude that thing is awesome. you should get an ec1000 do the equiv of a gold top, so like white or gold w/ crackle and take whichever color that is not used and splatter it w/ that so like, gold w/ crackle and white splatter or white w/ crackle and gold splatter, that would be a modern touch on a classic paint set up
Ok so you put a crackle paint job on a Jackson. Due to the colors that you used it feels celestial to me. So I dub this build as the Celestial Crackson Splatter. Great job, Mark! It looks AMAZING! Everything was a nice touch!!!!
Now that is a work of art. Great job, if you want a hotter pickup, try the EMG 81X series. I have some X series pickups and boy they are hotter and very clear.
Looks nice. I remember seeing brand new guitars with splatter paint and crackle in the 80s and 90s... not popular, well-known, brand-name guitars. But, I could feel the texture of the crackle or the splatter on the body, unlike your paint job where you leveled everything with clear coat layers.
If you use Floyd Rose string lock screws on the Gotoh 1996 they fit better as they are shorter then the Gotoh. I put the Gotoh 1996 on my Dinky and swapped the screws with know problem.
I had a 1996T on one of my guitars years ago and compared to an original german made one - the push-in tremolo arm is much better vs. the standard threaded one, which overtime will most likely loosen up. Think the german company also make the 1500 series, which has that same feature, as 1996T.
Nice palm muting, sweep picking, and sequencing scales. I recently bought a explorer diy build kit. Going to try some crackle painting on it. Just wondering what is a good gloss for it? Im probably doing a purple 2x rustoleum primer paint and motana crackle. Sanding techniques or any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated. I like a bigger crackle and not so much smaller crackle effect.
I typically don't use Floyd Rose. I much prefer the Ibanez Edge. Much better design in my opinion and the fact that it has replaceable knife edges gives me peace of mind.
It's a shame that you didn't test fit the tremolo before you painted the body... Would have been nice if you routed the cavity out so the tremolo had the full range of movement.
I plan to replace a Floyd Rose special by a Gotoh GE 1996T on my Fender HM Strat. From what I've heard until now the Gotoh is better than the 1000. I will be sure to test that because I have an OFR and a FR1000 on other guitars.
I have this very guitar but in blue and unfortunately it has a dent in the front by the pickup. Is this sought of damage to the paint and wood repairable?
The way that light blue splatter stands out on that dark crackle contrast is too good, got color and hardware choice, definitely a kick ass build
Looks great! To note, the 85 is EMG’s highest output pickup. It’s been my go to bridge pickup since 1985. The Alnico just makes it warmer.
Great video and work as always 🤘🏼💪
Did EMG send you pickups with the old logo?🤔
You read my comment and took note!! Well done sir, your finish will be hugely superior as a result
I can't believe it's still listed. I knew for sure it would be gone when I clicked the link.
A friend of mine hand painted my 91 Charvel Predator with acrylic paint. I used 4 full cans of clear to protect the paint.
Not every guitar needs a kill switch...
LOVE that splatter over (subtle) crackle! The light(er) blue over the black/navy is definitely popping, and the splatter gives the guitar a 'spacey' look, which is really cool.
Love the color, Mark.
I genuinely look forward to watching this show
Looks absolutely cool
Sick paint job!!! What about doing a crackle over top of a splatter?? Sonthat the crackle exposes some of the splater That could look interesting!
totally agree, especially if it's a neon splatter! Or maybe some lava crackle with "firey" splatter, like if earth cracks open...
I have a JDR-94, the HSH 24 fret model. Best neck I've ever played, installed a J50-BC and a JE-1000 in it and an OFR. Love it.
I recommend trying Isopropyl alcohol to remove any sticker residue. Eats right through it and super fast drying.
I second this too, the isopropyl alcohol weakens adhesive, dirt, dust, and oil. Plus it evaporates quick. It's my go too for cleaning FR and Ibanez bridges or about any bridge and hardware.
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE, if I wasn't so stuck on my green obsession, this would be amazing
That's a beautiful paint job! great idea and awesome colors.
Came out great. I have one of the original Jackson JDR-24 in blue. It's so hard to find that I wouldn't sell it because I'll never be able to get it again in fantastic condition.

This build tuned out really really awesome!!!
Cheers from Brazil!!! 🇧🇷
I think you are the raffle can CHAMPION! Your finishes are gorgeous! ✊
Wooooow, AMAZING! I've the same Guitar from the 90' "my very first Guitar" taken when I was 14 y.o. Thank you so much, now I already have an idea on how to revive it!!!😉 GRATZ FOR THE CHANNEL!
Wow!!! Great color combo and paint effects! As always, excellent job, Mark!
Those Thomann pads also work great for fret buffing after a level. They go up to 12000 grit.
Frets are mirrors afterwards.
You're killing it Mark truly outdid yourself on this One! Amazing looking craftsmanship
wow Can’t believe someone hasn’t bought this guitar yet just looked at it on his website and only $1400 that is an absolute steal, considering something like that from the Jackson custom shop will cost you 2-3 times that price keep up the great work bro rock on 🤘🏻

Wow I didn’t expect much but after the polish it popped out Good job dude one day I hope to purchase one of your guitars
Nice vid keep up the good work looks amazing
Awesome finish job to have a flat surface!
best paint and guitar so far
Another badass rebuilt!
This is soooo sick! I might have to get a crackle blood splatter signature in the very near future dude!!!
Your a true master craftsman, shredder. Love the videos.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching 🤘🏼

Mannn...nice! Love Jacksons and Charvels! Crackle and Splatter are great with those guitars!
Sweet guitar. I like the white pickups. I'm building an explorer kit and repainting 2 other guitars. Neon yellow js22 and a red with black crackle glarry strat. It looks awesome! That first polished shot was sick looking!
Killer paint job and the pickups look great.
This is looking gdamn sick! Great Job Man
Very nice! Great attention to detail.
wow that is an epic finish for Jackson axe!!! also that LTD explorer actually really like that sanded finished... hahaha got that used looked!!!
Splatter Crackle sounds absolutely killer man - Hype!
Pretty rad. Gold hardware over those colors would've been cool too. Maybe orange splatter over the blue/black crackle? Using the lighter blue as the base coat might make the crackle pop more (especially if using orange splatter or something). Supercawesome guitar though.
Paint job on point!
That guitar does look incredible. The only thing I’m curious about is how would the finish look using red and orange under the crackle and some yellow-orange splatter? Like “liquid hot magma?”

Love that Sick paint... Great video.
this is some seriously good content. you deserve more views
Beautiful
looks amazing man! keep it up i love the videos
Wow… that paint job is sick!!

Masterpiece! Perfect job!:)
My first guitar was a black jx10 but with the sc headstock they do with 24 frets n three seymour duncan hot rails 🚈🔥
your work and art is amazing. this is my 4th video I'm watching and cant stop. you should do basses too =)
Cool man I definitely dig it

Looks absolutely stunning, how would it look in orange with black crackle and a golden floyd rose and one of the horns cut of?🤔
Awesome!!!
Love it!!!!

amazing!
Nice job
Amazing work! Some splatter over the logo and some under the logo maybe would make it look 3D.
Maybe try a hydro dipped guitar with crackle , It might work 🤔 .
White FU-tone bridge pieces would be absolutely sick on this build.
+1 to Gotoh 1996T. I have used them a few times
This guitar is so beautiful man. Great work as always. I am not a Floyd fan lol. String through or hard tail for this guy.
That’s a really bitchin build Mark!
Killer guitar, would have loved a skootch more fine splatter up near the horns, but great job on a Now great guitar
good job man
Damnit I need it!
I would have never ruined this legendary very rare guitar...
I still have a JSX 94 that I bought new in 95. It's the one I would save from a fire first 👍
I typically don't use Floyd Rose. I much prefer the Ibanez Edge. Much better design in my opinion and the fact that it has replaceable knife edges gives me peace of mind.
Have you ever painted EMGs? Could be a cool look.
When are the dime rebuilds coming?
I have a jdr94. It's all torn apart. I tore it apart and havent touched it in years
It's a shame that you didn't test fit the tremolo before you painted the body...
Would have been nice if you routed the cavity out so the tremolo had the full range of movement.
Crackle be splatter- Splackle!!
WICKED!!!
FR purist here nothing beats the OFR but I’d def like to check out the Gotoh I wonder how they stack up against say the 1000 series.

I have this very guitar but in blue and unfortunately it has a dent in the front by the pickup. Is this sought of damage to the paint and wood repairable?
A orange/ red bullseye (the red is crackled?
The gotohs are very popular here in Brasil
What kind of stand is that in your spray booth?
Wouldn't dipping the body in clear be easier?
you have to start your own guitar company
Why didnt you ever show the back of the body or headstock when finished? Nothing in the video or pictures in the listing..
What preamp are you using?
I'd love to have a olp guitar I have done up.
