Listen I worked at UPS and they always told us that we were worse as a company than FedEx, I’m surprised to see everyone having problems with them.

@@des-lv4tp it's not a name brand guitar, my dad bought me that guitar. When I sold it and he found it upset him it got sold five other times before finding it's way back home to me i won't let it go ever again my friend.

I had an off brand Rhodes V back in the early 90s that is long since gone, I couldn't remember the make until I saw this video. This is the exact same model I had with the same explorer head stock!

Luckily that's an easy fix and your refinishing it so no problem. Remember some of the most sought after guitars in the world have repaired headstocks

Gigbags are also fine if you know what you're doing. I personally prefer it.
Also a case won't do much if the guitar isn't properly secured inside, learned that lesson when a Jackson DK2M arrived with a broken headstock.
Finally I've noticed that if a case is involved, peeps get lazy with the packaging, as the case brings a false sense of security.

Jonthan’s Concorde turned out killer! I just watched a video about the birth of the original Jackson model of Randy’s Concorde. He gave this name after he flew a Concorde when joining Ozzy. So tragic he would later die in a plane crash. Still miss Randy all the time. So much talent wasted way too early. And just an amazing person who was treated unfairly by fate.

Was wondering if you were going to put the Arbor logo back on but I see you didn't. I've got the same guitar with the same broken neck in that exact same spot. I repaired it already but haven't painted it yet. Wasn't sure how to get the logo right. I know some there are some waterside decals for some brands but can't say Ive seen one for this.
The Arbor story is similar to Hondo, JB Player, and so may more brands of the time; distributor brands. Arbor was a brand name used by Musicorp.
The distributors would go to FujiGen, Samick, Cort, etc and have them put a meaningless brand name on music products. They had a bunch of brands in their catalog and their primary market was smaller music stores; places that might not have been able to get a big brand like Fender, Gibson, or even Peavy. Maybe they were in a market that was protected by a brand for another dealer, but they may have also been a record store, a department store, or even a franchised Radio Shack.
I fully abide to this version. Back in the seventies and early eighties, all these Hondo, Maya etc guitars were exactly the same. Some were really good, while others were abominable.

Arbor was popular for a short time. Dana Strumm of Vinnie Vincent & Slaughter was an endorser.
If you have a card scraper I recommend trying that next time you get a guitar like the second one it looked like it may have had latex paint which doesn’t sand well !
Another tip….if you can’t get one of the “triangular” guitar boxes to go inside the rectangular box, put it in a gig bag although that can be a tough ask with a shape guitar

Love the channel. Seriously. But that headstock repair was awful. I’m happy to help though if you want to chat. PVA glue doesn’t stick in any real way to metal. It needs tightly fitted hardwood splines in the back of the neck - at least 2.
Honestly most of his work is really high level DIY and I commend him for it but it’s no pro shop and he shouldn’t be doing those sorts of repairs. It’s ok to say hey customer I’m going to send this particular part of the build out and it’s going to cost a bit more.

Had a arbor v,back in the day. The neck was warped, couldn't be fixed,but I did have a arbor,kinda kool!!

Who makes that behind-the-nut string lock? It's not a traditional locking nut because it's slimmer and not slanted/angled like a Floyd Rose one
Actually I could tell you the entire history on Arbor. Can't find it online but I know it through firsthand account because I lived through it. Some were garbage some were great they started with acoustics
I'm curious if any other rattle can guys are being tormented by the new krylon spray paint. The enamel switch really blows, the shit will not dry.

Arbor on some of the really early RR models had the explorer headstock my dad has that on his.

Just wondering about the metal dowels? Is there a benefit over using slightly larger wooden ones? I have done s few headstock repairs before and have normally gone for wood myself

Dude, I LOVE your videos. I have a question for you. What should I use as clear coat over paint? I bought something without reading instructions and it started a weird reaction, making bubbles on the paint.
All over or spots?
It sounds like surface contamination is causing a reaction.
Did you wipe the surface with solvent prior to spraying and if so, what solvent?

Kahlers are the best tremolo to use I wish more mainstream companies kept using kahlers instead of Floyd roses made out of crap pot metal Materials

Nooooo! That poor guitar! Daron Malakian of SOAD had the exact model once. His was Black. And someone might bring Arbor back. Because Kurt Cobain of Nirvana used to play Mosrite Copys from a brand called Univox. They were cheap but Kurt Loved Them. He Played one in the Heart Shaped Box, He had a Natural one Spray Painted Red to make it a Cherry Sunburst color. And smashed that in Mid 1989 during the Bleach Tour with Jason Everman who would later quit right after a show in Pyramid Club, in Ukrainian Town, in Manhattan, NYC. (Jason did the same thing when he was in Soundgarden as their first bassist. Now Jason is in the Army.) But back to Univox, In August 2022. They returned and are now making Offset guitars and 8 String.
