Iclal, I've already stated how impressive your Russian level is (especially taking into account the short time you've been studying), but I've gotten more impressed by knowing you started to learn languages as recently as 2020. Glad to know you can understand Portuguese (Brazilain here). BTW does your name come from the Arabic root J-L-L? I guess you could pick up Hungarian quite quick given the grammar similarities and the shared vocab they borrowed from Turkic languages.

hi!! i have a question that i want you to answer, badly
so i’m 15, a junior and i have such huge interest in languages, i’ve been using duolingo for my russian progress for two months, but after watching your videos i realized that there are more effective ways to learn a language.
although i do want to use your methods, i feel like they dedicate your time and effort all towards the language you’re learning, i have finals and school and i find it hard to learn languages while i have no time.
so my question is,, did you learn your languages during school, college or whatever you’re doing? i’m bilingual in both arabic and english and i want to be like you.
i have a deep love for languages, especially after the praise i get for being fluent in english, i think i have the capabilities to learn complex languages, or multiple languages.
i think that i can learn spanish and french first, and then move on to more complicated languages like russian and german, because i do want to learn french and i’m thinking of learning french and russian at the same time when i’m free.
i’m looking forward for your response, thank you for being you and motivating a lot of people around the world! :)

Does anyone have any tips for tricking tiktok into showing you videos in a specific language? I tried changing the language and watching a bunch of videos in that language but my fyp is still all English

watch a looot of videos, follow some people and most especially interact with the content in that language
I opened a now account and followed people in my target language only, liked videos in that language only and now it has its own algorythm. It doesnt take much effort, but it works really well
