I am glad you finally had your surgery and are foing well . Most people do better at home , sleeping in their own beds ! You have bounced back very quickly after having major surgery 👍🏻 ! You very strong willed and that is a plus , you are not afraid to go forward if it means getting better . Your attitude and strong will get you very far , in terms of recovery . NB. After surgery , when patients have a lot pain , strong , unbearable pain , they are given versed to cause amnesia . You forget the time after surgery when you were in excruciating pain . Peter I wish all cancer patients had your outlook and positive attitude, they would get better so much quicker . May God continue to bless you with good health !

Honestly, people can correct me if im wrong on this, the people ive seen die of illnesses are usually ones that have just throw the towel in and said, enough is enough with the pain and they call it a day, but youre a strong, beautiful man, just keep pushing.

Hi Peter, I have been following your ordeal with interest. My surgery was in 2017. Don't worry your liver
will soon be back to normal, as mine was. Be careful and don't push things for the next two months.
I do hope they got all the cancer. I am following your progress. Keep a positive attitude.
    Best wishes Vic.

Outro segment of the video you spoke about how you will be able to overcome the hardships that present themself to you when doubts set in.
As I have had cancer and surgery before with the worries and concerns prior to all the hardships, your words spoke some homerun truths 👍

Peter, ilius is no joke. I have had it after bowel surgery myself. And it is scary. You keep feeling like, ok, what if my bowel doesn’t start working soon? What next? Very scary and painful experience. It sure was a tough journey for you. What a struggle in the ICU. Thank goodness you made it through. It’s a testament to your strength and resilience. You are looking so much better now. You’re going to come through like the champ that you are. Stay strong, friend. Prayers going up for you. Xx

I survived Neuroendocrine cancer 8 years ago. It was in my pancreas. More recently I found out that it metastasized to my liver causing me to have to undergo a partial liver resection surgery. The surgery process went just as you described with the epidural (fortunately worked for me), central line, etc. except all of that was done when I was put to sleep. After a dangerous 9 hour operation, my surgeon was able to remove the tumor which was sitting in the dead center of the liver. I was up and walking the next day and ready to go home by the morning of the 3rd day. Unfortunately, like you, Major challenges presented themselves causing me to become incredibly ill by the afternoon on the 3rd day. I developed a blood infection as well as a bile leak causing me to slowly become septic, which is incredibly dangerous and deadly. What was supposed to be no more thanto a 3-4 day stay turned into 13 miserable days. I underwent multiple procedures during that time to stop the leak. Ultimately, I’ve ended up with 3 drains collecting bile keeping me safe. I’m going on my 9th week post liver resection and it has been the most frustrating and hardest time of my life (more than 8 years ago). I hope one day soon I can have the drains removed and try to get back to living some kind of life. You’re videos give me hope. Prior to surgery I was very active, going to the gym everyday, hiking often, traveling and now I’m confined to my home mostly in bed or the couch. However, I see you and how you’ve overcome the nightmare and I can only pray god gives me that luxury as well. I just need to be patient. Thank you and Take care.

I retired a few months ago after being a palliative social worker. I have also had a few surgeries and treatment for cancer. I remember crying for pain relief and the nurse bringing me a hot chocolate! When I looked at my notes when feeling more human (and provided with pain relief from another nurse) I looked at my notes to find I was prescribed oramorph! I will never forgive that nurse - there are a few of them about. Fortunately most nurses care.

What an ordeal Peter both physically and mentally. Adding the sense of isolation that comes with serious illness you were physically separated too . First, I am so glad to see that you are doing better. Have been waiting for an update. Second, while I wish you didn't have to go through this, I have a feeling that you are the right person to deal with it and educate us all on the process. Third, dang...you went through some hell my friend...and you have the scars to prove it. I have learned so much as well as have learned how lucky I am right now to be well. Sometimes I think we take our health for granted until something like this comes along.
I want to thank you for being willing to share your ordeal. You are an inspiration to what the human body can do as well as a great educator.
Well wishes from your friend across the pond!

I must admit I felt worried that we hadn’t heard from you, but also expected it.
The pain involved with not being able to use your bowls would in itself have been excruciating on top of everything else.
I’m relieved you are on the mend, the journey ahead can’t be rushed but you have your lovey Jenny to support and love you.
Thank you for sharing your experiences, I appreciate the honest approach you have shared concerning the good, the bad and the ugly 😊

    Cheers Chrissy 😊🌹

You’ve taken a pretty big hit with that surgery, to say the least, and it’s sobering to see just how very complex the whole situation was.
Thank you for sharing so candidly. Your content will help a lot of people and families.
    The NHS are incredible too.
We are so glad you are coming out of the other side of this part of your treatment.

Peter so glad you seem to be doing well, it’s such a tough surgery to go through. I had a hepatobiliary right lobectomy as well and couldn’t get over how absolutely fatigued I became during recovery and realized my body made me really rest so it could regrow a brand new right liver lobe, which it completely grew back exactly like the original liver in four weeks. Funny but my surgery team wanted to know if I would mind jazz music, and I had the surgery done in Austin Texas where you’d think they might want to hear country. I tried not to take much pain killers as well so it wouldn’t be so tough on what little liver I had left after surgery. That was almost 7 years ago and I did quite well, I certainly hope you continue to heal and have a complete recovery.

Thank you for sharing Tammy. It's nice to know your liver was back to its normal size in 4 weeks. Hoping I might have achieved the same!
