It's nearly been a year since I first posted about my struggles with burnout. It's been a difficult year with many different twists and turns - many that I would have never expected - that landed me here. I feel like I have finally been able to take the steps that I've needed to in order to move forward productively in my life and I'm very grateful to get to share this journey with out here!

Learning to live where we are now instead of where we wish we were is one of the hardest lessons in life. But it is also one of the most rewarding. One of the phrases I've found most helpful when coming to terms with my own situation has been: "Acceptance isn't the same as Giving Up". Accepting where I am now doesn't mean I'm giving up on ever being where I want to be it just means embracing the present moment rather than letting it slip by pining over some future that may or may not happen. It's a lesson I have to keep reminding myself of time and time again, but it's worth it.

I have lived as a witch in the forests of Maine my entire life, if I left the rural life I would have no idea what to do with myself so I can fully understand that struggle. I truly hope you find exactly what it is you're looking for and find your peace.

I am in such a bad place mentally right now, due to burn out and the feeling that I have no purpose in my life.
I live in a crowded polluted big city, working in a corporation and I feel that I am melting in a perpetual nervous breakdown. I can't seem to find any solutions to get away from all of this, as most of them require money that I simply do not have right now.
I, too, dream of a rural simple life, surrounded by forests, flowers, plants, vegetables, chickens, dogs and cats.

I have been following you since the pandemic, and it has been fantastic to see you grow and share your journey. The fantastic balance of feminine energy you bring to this space is so great. Compassion for the earth and the way you share life are so awesome. I will say that the changes you have made to shifting to 60fps from 24fps have given me a new fondness for the 24fps. 60fps is so hyper real versus 24fps that seems to be softer and more cinematic if that makes sense. Thanks for sharing your journey and creative passion!

I have had an herbal and art biz over 40 years now. I began with 20 years of shows then opened my own little shop. I felt the need to teach others and help them with their own paths. I run a couple fb chat groups and we have a yearly conference here in upstate NY. Suppliers of base ingredients & packaging and expert herbslist s come in to teach. This year we are focusing on just what you are up to. :) starting a business. Pricing and packing etc. at any level.
I am happy with my own little eclectic shop Country Artist Botanicals here on my old country hill where I work one on one with my customers now and don’t miss the rat race of big wholesale or set up and breakdown of shows. I also love heading wildcrafting walks and small classes here in my studio. You will find your happy spot. It’s a journey. Mine brought me back to where I began :) good luck! Blessed be!

An apothecary sounds wonderful and romantic! I used to be obsessed with fragrance oils and always wanted to start my own little shop, maybe someday... but I know they still sell extremely well and organic, small batch scented bath and body products are always in demand and I think something like that would also sell like hotcakes to your followers (me for one!)

We can all only do what is available to us at the time being. If you have any tips or things you have learned how how to become part of a community in a new place I'd love to hear them. So glad to hear you're excited and enlivened by this shift in perspective.
As someone who is also slowly building an herbal and natural handicraft practice which sells occasionally at markets, I don't find the business talk boring at all! It really is challenging to do this work ethically and sustainably in the context of exploitative, extractive late-stage capitalism. The land and the plants are my first priority, not profit, so I always find it fascinating and engaging to hear how folks of a similar mind are shaping their practice and thinking about their approaches.

Suffering arises when we feel obligated or loyal to "past" or "future" versions of ourSelf, thereby separating us from ourSelf, as we truly are, now. We chose whether or not we honor or align with what was; we can modify our agreements within ourSelf, at anytime. Accepting reality as it is and moving from presence will bring resolve (to focus) and clarity.

It's only a little, but I hope this helps. Although my situation in life is different, I can sympathize with where you're at in my own ways. Struggling with knowing, focusing on, and achieving what you need to find happiness in the face of the demands and limitations of real life. We live rurally in Snohomish county, only because we got this rental when it was more affordable and we’ve been ‘stuck’ in it ever since. Luckily it’s rural and we have an acre so I can have my gardens, goats and chickens. Anyway, my parents, brother and my little family are going to try and buy land in Skagit county together. We can do it that way, it’s the only way we can. My husband is a home inspector and he does a lot of houses in Seattle. For anyone wondering, it’s nothing for a home in Seattle that is condemned, literally falling apart and unlivable, to sell for well over a million dollars. The housing situation around here is actually appalling and a bit scary.

I'm not quite through the video, I've got to run off to a doctor's appointment, but if you happen to see this:
My partner and I were able to get a rural cabin and restore it. While it doesn't sound like that is your goal, if you are able to find a property with electricity and water of some sort, plumbing, even toilets, are not difficult. With pointers from someone experienced and TH-cam, I was able to plumb our house.
It is just a thought, whatever your journey is, may it be blessed.

I am happy for you, and wish you luck with your business :D In Sweden it it is illegal to "just" make herbproducts and sell (up to 2 yrs in prison), you have to do a lot of laboratory testing for every single product that costs very much and then register every single one with a fee for every one and another fee early. The big pill companies do not want to have competition with natural remediesI guess.😡

I can give the best advice I can, life is chaos and order. As a Norse Pagan studying Galdr, Runes but interpretation through sigils, emblems, and even one could call coded encryption along with Sacred Geometry.
Then yes I am studying herbalism, the primal instinct/frenzy or Od. Basically think heightened feral senses and reacting. Animism etc, etc.
Annabel I can understand what it is like being alone, finding those that share a similar path as I do, researching material rather both scholarly, historical, and maybe controversial. And yes it can be overwhelming.
The hunters instinct, the hunters perception, the tactical and probability analysis mind? Yes this might not seem like the normal pagan thought, but philosophy, metaphysics, theology, maybe a bit of herbalism, alchemy, yadda, yadda, yadda. Its overwhelming, and don't get me started on politics and perception of faith. Sometimes you just wonder are people serious in what they practice, or playing cosplay and honeyed words for attention.
✌️and❤️ for you don't give up.

;) Something I realized a few years back after a very big change and moved in my life was that for myself it is or seems to be impossible to find my purpose when although in my home I feel at home as soon as I walk out my door I dont feel at home if that makes sense and like you every thing is extremely expensive on the west coast I live in Canada so it may be a little different then the west coast of the UIS but still I have to live in cheap housing which means the majority of people that live here have issues and that energy is all around my suit its a sort of catch 22 I could maybe afford to move int oa different place but not pay some of my bills so am pretty sure I understand what you are saying and going through , when I first move d in I couldnt figure out why I felt stuck even though every thing was telling me the answer I wasnt quit listening lol so I have been doing what you are saying working with what I have adjusting being like water and adapting to all shapes sizes and things.
I have been watching your vids off and on I think since 2018 2019 some where around there, then my account got hacked had to make a new one becasue was kicked from youtube totally long and different subject
I think the big difference between you and me is that your a content person as well so you also may feel pressured to have to do things that you think\feel other people want you to do ( I am speaking of content you tube and probably Patreon) that creates pressure and can cloud things . I really like your content but if it is draining and possibly confusing always remember to not do what I have seen many other youtubers do keep pushing then lose themselves worrying more about what follwers want instead of doing what they want and then attracting the like minded .
    I have always wanted to be a Herbalist but it never happened for reasons I wont get into. Being more of a visual learner I like to be around the person I am learning from feeling sensing something off of them and if they are into it it feels better then taking something on line that has for me no energy or emotion well except older books that have texture and smells and energy if they have been used before, its hard to explain.}
I guess the closest thing is like when walking through trees with know one around there is a feeling an energy that comes with that, the wisdom of the old trees the breeze tickling the skin, the water laughing the tree branches also laughing dancing, the bugs buzzing around all the birds and animals doing there thing maybe checking you out trying to see what type of person you are before they carry on with their day ok i got lost there in my trees and nature thoughts and will stop.
the very last part of this video it stopped with you looking off to your left like someone just walked in the door lol

I am really very low profile in the shelter, i barely talk to anybody.... but just this last two day, suddenly there was a very tomboyish person came on strong to me, she was very loud and rude, but i tried to be polite and not to raise the issue, but somehow i just happened to bump into her/him, i don't know the gender because the bedbug didn't reveal, but i suspect it is yang gender, i don't care about the physical gender, it is the soul gender that really matters..anyway, last night the shelter had a water leak and that person was there again, i just cleaned up but today when i just opened the gate, that same person was right there to curse me and i just had enough, don't you play such nasty rude rick with me.... and i let that person know.... and my fight back really started a tsunami of spiritual/telepathy conversation that leads me to realize that that person who bent on harassing me is exactly that bedbug... i had no grudge with any person in the shelter and the only thing I did was eliminating the bed bugs, and i have done a very good job, i killed big and small 1,600 bedbugs... i had a note to keep track every one i finished... and i was thinking going 2,000 strong if it can finish the bedbug war... but i guess this bedbug soul just had enough and it turns into a human being, because that person just showed up two days ago.... and the connection and revelation can not be more direct

Yes, Oregon is so expensive. My husband and I still can't move out of my parents' house even though we've been saving for a decade. It's very discouraging because I honestly can't imagine living anywhere else. My heart is here.

There is a young Woman who moved to our area and opened a shop called
    Blessed Be Tea.
She sells many Green Witch items she creates.
Many classes and other community events.
Her business has become very successful and our area is very tourist driven here in Northern Michigan.
The point is she followed her dreams and succeeded.
You will find your path, try not to overthink what you want but follow your heart.
    You got this !!🙂♥️

Speaking from my own artist's soul and experience, the "creative" person can be besieged by a constant stream of ideas screaming for manifestation and/or things they want to learn (or at least try once), while at the same time are burdened with thinking they never do enough or don't do things as well as they could have done. These mental battles can certainly add to burnout. That said, I feel that burnout has a great deal to do with unprocessed or even unrecognized grief. Grief over something lost, such as a sense of community, a cherished home, a beloved animal companion, or anything else that leaves an internal ache or emptiness. It can even be grief over something that a person wasn't particularly fond of, like a messy divorce or getting fired from a job. A loss is a loss, and grief is a natural reaction to loss. Unprocessed grief -- or even going through the grieving process in general -- can leave us unbalanced, fatigued, foggy-minded, and frustrated. Anyway, just offering some food for thought to anyone struggling to find their "life purpose".

I'm so pleased that you've found something to ignite passion for you again. :) Burnout isn't something to take lightly; you have to heal your head and heart or you'll eventually break apart completely and not be able to do ANYTHING. I came very close to that point (with autistic burnout) and spent almost 6mos barely functioning while caring for the household and four kids. I'm finally coming out of the dark bit by bit, but I know that I'm still tender; the broken bits are mended, but not yet solid. So I'm trying to be gentle with myself. Don't forget to be gentle with YOURSELF, too.

I know this is not something you want to hear, maybe you should head back east. I've lived in Colorado and also built a house out here. I've been here for 15 years and guess what? I am selling my home here and i am moving east next week. I have loved the west, but it isn't what it was when i got here. It's not affordable anymore. It doesn't bring me the joy it once brought. I am picking up my entire household 3 kids my husband my kids uncle and 3 cats and our dog and we are moving east. If i can do it anyone can.

I moved to Florida, to be closer to my aging parents, from my home in rural upstate NY. I’ve been in Florida (which has become just awful) for 9 years and I spend a lot of time thinking about when/how I can leave. I miss the mountains and the woods and the seasons and the streams. I feel so disconnected from nature down here, so I totally get what you are saying. I’ve gone to great lengths to try to make my backyard a place of nature to make the best of it while I’m here. But I still cannot wait to leave. Nothing but good vibes on the new venture. ❤

The housing market is building up another bubble. In time that bubble (like all of them) will burst. Then there will be many bargains on the market. Besides location, timing is important when buying property.

    • @vinlago
      @vinlago ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@beautyindarkness the only hitch is that certain entities have been buying up property even paying above market value. Either that will speed up the bubble bursting or it will lock up many properties as they wait for the market to recover. That could take a while.

Oh how I wish we could have a cup of tea and chat about running an herb biz. There's so much to consider: practioner or product maker, teacher, etc. Every state has different laws about selling products. Here in Massachusetts it's very strict, not like Vermont where you can do it easier. I love teaching so get asked to lead herb walks, classes, lectures, etc. It's my passion to empower people to make their own remedies. You'll find the path that's right for you.

I wondered if you thought of moving more inland in WA? The Palouse area in eastern WA has many small towns here with cute rural homes that are very affordable. That’s why we moved out here. My little rural home was built in 1884 and we absolutely love it and started growing cut flowers and herbs. I’ve been watching your videos for years before you moved and I always think you’d really love it out here. It’s definitely a process to find what feels right to you. I’m so excited to see what you do next!

Buying a house in your twenties these days is nearly impossible. Every time I find something in a reasonable price range it has major structural damage or requires tens of thousands of dollars in renovation. I’ve also had to pivot my priorities away from homeownership and it’s difficult but finding a new focus is crucial. Wishing you luck with your new business ❤️

I went from a San Francisco hipster to an off-grid wild child in the Mountains. I had no problem with composting toilets made from 5-gallon buckets or well water or solar-based electricity (PGE often shuts off electricity in rural areas). Raw lands are much more affordable and much easier to come by. And these primitive ways of living make me feel closer to Mama Earth. I recently did a vision quest for 4 days and 4 nights without eating or drinking, and I will never forget how thirsty I was and grateful for the lessons Mama Earth taught me in the wilderness.
