What an original take. I like the energy this band brings and the singer's voice. This is a difficult song and the band nailed it. It's noisy and fuzzy and beautiful.
Such an unexpected and throughly great cover. I am the kind of fan that this was obviously meant for. I appreciate both artists and this take on one of Tori's poppier early numbers is just done so well, somehow pretty faithful to the original but still undoubtedly Jawbox in execution.
so good, e cover that is not mimicking the original but is adding something new. LOve also the unexpected (at least to my hearts) snare hit. great - so sad I cannot like it twice
@@revolutionday1 I think sunkinthesand might be talking about deftones covering savory, it's the first track off the B Sides and Rarities album. That was how I got introduced to Jawbox back in late 2008, forever greatful!👍😎👍 The big 5 to me: Deftones, Failure, Jawbox, Glassjaw, and Far.👌👌👌👌👌

@@LondonBlakk dude! Me too! I think it wasn't such a great cover but considering our generation is the last to have great rock and roll & hip hop. Millennials & under who are known for their ENTITLEMENT, NARCISSISM & that SMUG look "they" always have on their "I am inherently given everything in life" face have no music!! It's dead, the artists today have other ppl writing their songs & they still suck! The "garage band" times are over & that is a crying shame! Who ever thought @ age 16, when I was putting a tape in my car that now, I would be paying $20 a month to listen to 2 radio stations that play the music I love???!!
Long time Tori fan...this cover is such a wonderful take on Cornflake Girl! I love heavy music, too. So successful yet unexpected...I will have to hear some more of Jawbone. Thanks, almighty TH-cam algorithm!

The last Jawbox tune on the last Jawbox album before they were dropped from the label and then broke up soon after. You can even tell the end is near for this band by their body language. They barely acknowledge each other’s presence (Bill and J look like they want to be on opposite ends of the planet) and seem like they’re in their own isolated world. Their 2019 reunion shows were awesome, I wonder if we’ll get any new tuneage out of them.
+Sonny Ramos It is on the album, it's the hidden track at the end. You would know that if you actually owned the album and didn't just steal if off torrents..
+Sonny Ramos Really? When it even says on the page on iTunes.. This is an excellent follow up to their major label debut. Too bad it was their last album. "Mirrorful", "Livid", "Iodine", "Won't Come Off" and "Desert Sea" are my favorite songs on the album, but they are all pretty good. "Absenter" isn't really a 9:22 long song. After a silent gap, there is an excellent cover of Tori Amos's "Cornflake Girl" waiting to be heard.
I thought he meant this version of the song. This is not the album version, it’s mixed differently. More bass & spiky treble but the mids are cut so it sounds bad like …And Justice For All I’m glad people are taking about great music still, regardless

This is such a sick cover. ❤
They rocked this so hard, while keeping it true to the original. Jawbox was such an awesome band.

It took my fave band Jawbox to make me like this song. If you like Jawbox check out the Gordon Withers Jawbox covers. Top notch stuff.
I loved this bonus track at the end of Jawbox's album in the 90's!

One of the best covers ever
Dedicated fan of both, hope Tori has heard and seen this.
this really rocks over the decades
Is this the only place to hear this on the damn internet

discovered in the late 00's after Deftones covered.such a great unique sound
When and where did the Deftones ever do this song?

Boston Guy in the midwest Hmmm. But didnt Bill and J form Burning Airlines a year later together?
4:00 manequin challenge before it was cool.

Underrated band. Cover better than the original.
no
Its not bad but it misses some small elements that makes original far better.
Then you missed the point.
I'm not a conrflake girl either
Why you so mean to Tori? 😂
@@TommyMVSERVTI she did that to herself
