    Good video,
    I see a few issues.
    1st of all - no thermal paste.
    Heat induction to the fins will not be optimum.
    2nd issue:
    No adequate heat dissipation. Maybe try a water cooled heat sink/exchanger.
    3rd issue : your temperature probe is kept inside the box.
    This is wrong.
    The A/C needs to cool the air outside the box.
    By placing the temperature sensor inside the box (very close to the heat sink on the cold side) you are displaying internal temperature, and not the AC effect outside the box.
    Viewers need to see the cooling effect on air outside the box.
    But keep it up.
    I liked the idea.

    • @oferkrupka
      @oferkrupka 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      2nd - It need to go outside, otherwise he just creating more heat.
      Peltier is basically moving hot to one side and cold to the other and while doing it, it also creating a little bit of heat too (energy loss).

    • @trewmika1869
      @trewmika1869 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      And did you noticed that the heat goes into the same room so it acts as heater? And the power supply should be in another room so it will not heat up air in the same room.

    • @oferkrupka
      @oferkrupka 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Trew Mika
      Power supply is creating heat, but not as much as just throwing the hot air back into the room from the peltier.
      It can still cool the room if the PSU is fairly efficient and the heat from the peltier goes outside.
      And as you said, he is just heating the room, which is dumb.

    TEC-12706 cell takes about 4A and you have four, plus 0,9A fan, and you have two. I don't have any calculator with lcd display around me, but should make 17,8A, and you need some more just to be sure. Let's say 20 A power supply. And you have 10A power supply.

      4 small fans equal to almost 12 v 1a

      Two big fan 2

    Design is good, few changes needed to be done like use of thermal paste, air input to sink need to be improved to increase more contact of input air with heat sink fins. For those who are worried for heat exhaust in same room a pipe can be attached or some other arrangements can be made depending on your placement. Again I am very much impressed with the design. Thanks for the video upload.

    Good effort.
    If you add a diode bridge to the fan's you can simply swap the polarity to the peltier's to reverse the heat flow, therefore a switch could be used to make it reverse cycle.
    It's also better to use liquid heat exchangers with peltier's as it stops the airconditioner from becoming a heat exchanger itself when it's not powered on, especially good
    if you plan to fit it in a wall. I did one using liquid CPU coolers with a little radiator in each side. Works from a 250 watt solar panel and keeps the temp down a few degrees
    with zero running cost.

      @@irtzashahanpk My office room is well insulated (R-10), and it takes a few days of heat to start getting hot inside, but with that system always on when the sun shines it keeps it at about 22C, where without it it used to creep up to 30C. The effect is small, but over a long period it makes a fair difference. I get a similar benefit in winter, it adds a few degrees on cold sunny days, not sure how much as I still run extra heating, but it's never freezing when I come in at evenings.

    its good toy AC, but real working AC ca be made using peltier, 100% possible but would require 56 peltier (12706) surface conduction area approximately 200 square inches , its performance will meet 2 Ton AC.
    01 (12706) peltier takes 3.5 amp . 56 will take 196 Amp 56*3.5=196*12v=2352 watts and 200 Watts for blowers, total load 2552 Watts. However thermal insulation is critical point.
    it will obviously save energy with smart and quite design, no noise, no starting heavy current, no motor induction losses and no wear parts. it will roughly cost 250$

      SO What it can run on solar panels of 100watt

    However I noticed 4x 6 amp peltiers (total 24 amp) and the power supply is rated to 10 amp?
    No thermal paste ? How long can this run before it burns out ?
    The placing of the temp censor on the plate that is connected directly to the cold plate on the peltier will give an artificially low reading.
    The heat exhaust is venting in to the same room so room temperature will actually rise due to inefficiency of the peltiers.

    Good concept but execution could be improved. I also understand building with limited resources but this was a lot of work for 2C delta T. Stacking the modules would improve cold side temp exponentially. Recirculating some cool air across the hot side will also help. Mounting a pulling fan directly over heat sink would also improve cold side discharge temp.

    I think he used 4 x 6A Peltier with 10A Power supply, If each of these peltier draws less current (divided current) both chill and hot side will be very less, try using 30A power supply, may that will provide enough current and Real AC effect + use Thermal compound for efficient heat and freeze transfer, but then again it will freeze fast, you may need to use high Rotation fan (16000rpm) for efficiency, Just my thought.

    Better to overcome the heat-cold issue just detouch both the modules and keep an insulator between them, then it works well.

    This is really good brother. Now try to discover a way to drop the temperature even further. The thermal compound grease as already suggested will improve things. Personally I would have the fans directly bolted to the sinks. There are obviously many ways to skin a cat.
    5☆ for good honor and effort...

    If I use an evaporator and fan behind it ... like the one used in air conditioners ... and pass water chilleded by pletiers inside the evaporator ... where the temperature of this water reaches -20 degrees Celsius after adding an antifreeze to the water ... Will I get enough coolness to cool a room and how many pletiers do I need to do that?

    Air needs to sweep over maximum possible length over the heatsink fins for better conduction. Design and placement of components is perfect. I liked it 👌

    • @sanatanar
      @sanatanar 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes it can. Use peltier module in conjunction with a swamp cool/water cooler. Use it to cool the recirculating water with probably 3 or 4 modules and the air you would get to almost freezing in no time.

    • @simplydoing9596
      @simplydoing9596 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Large Space cooling ? yeah can be achieved. Fans come in CFM cubic feet per minute size.
      So if your LArge room is about 20ft x 20ft , and you're fan has max 60cfm capacity, then you will need
      20x20 = 400 sq.ft / Divd by 60 cfm = 6 Fans of such cfm value.
      But you will need 12 fans of such cfm value, 6 fans of 60cfm value and 6 fans(heat throwing) of higher
      than 60cfm value.
      Peltier : you will need peltier qty as per above video multiplication. 1 Fan with 4 peltiers
      so 6 Fans peltier qty will be will be ???
      6 x 4 = 24 peltiers
      Total System Cost will be yeah much highe
      24 pelts x 200INR = 4800 INR (USD approx $70)
      12 Fans x 250INR = 3000 INR (USD approx $60)
      24 Heat Sinks x 200 INR = 4800 INR (USD approx $70)
      Insulation, wires, smps = 8000 INR ( USD approx $150)
      acrylic fom sheet etc.
      Total System Cost = 20,600 INR (USD approx $300)
