@bigsadge747 They accidentally buffed his movement speed to 400 instead of 40, his charge speed remained at a normal level. If you just set a movement order going straight through the enemy unit, he'll fly straight through them. If you order a charge, he'll slow down to his charge speed as he closes in for the attack.

There are some weird picks on here. Morathi with her items and skills (which are part of the lord after all) is great!
Morathi is a very strange one for this list, whenever I have played her she is an absolute beast in melee and as a spellcaster. I find Alith Anar and Markus Wolfheart to be strange choices as well, they can both do a load of damage to single entities, killing them or making them flee before they can even get to your lines if you play it defensively, which in terms of balance of power value can be huge for you. List also seems weird, as for some lords he mentions their buffs to units, but for some doesn't seem to be taking that into account which it should be as it is part of battle. Wolfheart, for instance, makes an army of huntsmen into an OP doomstack when fully buffed. I'm pretty sure at this point he just adds a few that he knows are going to be controversial into these lists to encourage comments

Guys i think that you forget that that he has to put some on the list, ofc none of the legendary lords are bad, or even mid. He just have to choose someone, and i think his choices are great

I legitimately question Damneders skill at the game if he really puts Morathi as one of the worst combat LLs. She might not be the best duelist but she can wipe out armies. Throwing her into combat and dropping Pit of Shades is very effective.
We really live in different worlds. In My world Morathi is absolute bonkers on the battlefield.

I think he’s talking about the lord’s ability to directly fight. I agree Helman Ghorst is extremely powerful with his Mortis Engine and zombie buffs, but he’s weak in melee.
Like the other guy said i think he is getting at the lord just by themselves which is fair but i feel like all the lords on this list do 10x better with their army present with them.

Oh yes he does. It may sound rude, but Colonel Damneders gets so much stuff wrong. I was checking on here again if this changed over time cause his video ideas and narrating is kind of entertaining. But he is so utterly and dreadfully wrong so many times and not talking about minor stuff, but outright objectively terrible advice for newer players. Seems not much has changed, a little bit of a shame. Sometimes i'm wondering if he even played some of the things he talked about in MP or in Campaign longer than the first 10 turns. Wish he would put more effort in to the research about the topics.
Considering that a major complaint regarding Aranessa is how poorly she was implemented into the game, there's a reason why Pirates of Sartosa as a game mod exists.
Greesus was done so dirty. Give that poor man a chariot a la Grom the Paunch, especially given the recent speed buff.
Khalida is my favorite Tomb King for some reason (I have no idea why) but she should be on the list. She’s allegedly a Duelist but gets bodied by basically any other Legendary Lord you try and have her square off against. She also doesn’t get the benefit of being able to ride a Khemrian War Sphinx like Setra or Arkhan.
Yeah she's my favourite TK lord to play too, but her buffing ranged units whilst having no ranged attack is weird. Like, do I want her at the back to buff, or in the front to fight? She has a unique mount, but so does Khatep and he doesn't have any confusion where on the battlefield he wants to be.
Given how many choices were due to being similar to a generic lord, I’m surprised Queek dodged this list. Queek is my favourite rat and he’s a menace when he can do what he wants but his lack of a mount makes dueling late game difficult due to his low mass and anti infantry bonuses.
Even without a mount queek can still do anti large dmg still making him an absolute menace

Wait, what? Tretch and Throt are anti-large. Queek is an anti-infantry fighter. The problem is, if you want to go character assassin, you go Snikch because he has all the tools for it.

Never had a problem as Morathi. Skarsnik and Tiktaqto, however, are melee lords that you dont want in melee because they get their behind kicked so easily
TikTaqTo takes skill to use, he's extremely mobile and he hits fast. If you use him like he's Imrik obviously he'll have a hard time. But if you take advantage of his DPS and mobility he can do serious damage with hit and run tactics and picking off key targets before the enemy player can react.

I just finished a Ghorst campaign. That man is monstrous. Without casting a single spell he gets between 10k and 100k damage and 100 to a 1000 kills. He's a combination of necromancer and mortis engine and thus way better then both. He won't duel Malus Darkblade but when levelled properly he can even hold his own on top of his crazy abilities. Is this some kind of "controversial on purpose"-videos to get engagement? If so, you won and hats off to you Sir
Zhatan literally carried me through battles in my campaign. He would easily kill the lord and heroes much quicker than any other chaos dawi lord I've used. He was devastating and basically won the final campaign battle for me himself
Perfect vigor, regen, 1k+ damage.. Debuffs.. He's insanely powerful..
Not sure about 3, but I’ve played both Wulfhart and Alith Anar in 2, and the difference is night and day. Wulfhart couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn at 15 paces. Alith Anar is significantly more accurate, and the amount of damage he’s able to dish out before your lines meet is ridiculous. Now continuing to fire at smaller lords at that point is fairly pointless, but move him to the flank of the enemy army, and have him target the opposite end? Watch as his arrows take out dozens of enemies per shot. He’s like a highly mobile cannon, which makes it much easier to set up those devastating flanking shots
firstly, i repect you, i agree with most of these choices. I have used many lords in multiplayer battles. However, forgive me father but i am going to scream.

Nagarythe is absolutely my favorite High Elf faction.
I would argue that Markus Wolfhart is actually pretty dope because you really can't consider him as an individual lord without considering his retinue of heroes that he inevitably gets. If you're not using that group as a massive hero death star to buff your Hunters then you're doing it wrong. Together they make a HUGE difference on the battlefield.

Zhatan the Black can become ridiculously powerful late-game with all his quest items and buffs.
I’ve used him as a juggernaut to beat a full Cathay army (mid-high tier unit comp) with almost dead chaos dwarfs and a ranged hero.

The fun thing about the fey enchantress is that is an avatar of Isha the elven godess who trickeded the bretonnians into worshiping her, so she is literally nerfing herself in battle because in reality she is a literal godess
I think you grossly undervalue mortis engine effects. Ghorst has not much else so .... sure? Maybe? But the fay has like 100% pick rate in mp because the mix of lore of life, mortis and bound comet of cassandora, shes literally on of the best lords in the entire game
Aranessa's combat niche is killing large single entities. She is anti-large by default and with her high melee attack, high weapon damage and the low melee defense of most large entities, she just shreds them.
I know this seems to be combat ability of these lords however I might suggest Zhatan and Aranessa get some consideration in having “nets” in shooting factions with no other real way to bet a target down for the perfect focus fire. Zhatan doesn’t need to be stronger than Archaon, when the great lord of chaos has been rooted and taking the concentrated fire of 5 blunderbuss units.
This list is by far one of the worst I've ever seen, like it's so wrong on nearly all accounts I suspect you might be trolling with these choices. First there's the confusion of whether you're talking about MP or SP? If you're talking about SP then Helman Ghorst sure as hell doesn't belong in this list as he's OP as **** as both a lord and as a faction. And if it's MP, then why the hell is MORATHI and Fay Enchantress in the list as both of them are respectively absolute monsters. Morathi being a top tier caster and melee monster thanks to her aura stacking, doubly so if she's paired with a Master.
Most others are serviceable if you actually know how to play them, Wulfrik and his multiple use nets alongside even more if he's paired with Light Casters guarantees a kill against any enemy Lords. Aranessa being a budget LL who have a solid anti-large aura and also her own net.
The only one you seem to have gotten right here is Greasus who despite his high stats are incapable of using them because of his awful attack animations.
I wish Sartosa wwren't an undead army. I can see them working best aa a neutral mercenary force but right now Noctulus plays better in that role since he can ally with the High Elves ao easily.

I’ve gotten 2000 kills with morathi in one battle loads of times. Sounds like you don’t know how to use lore of shadows. Morathi is one of the best lords in the game. She can overcast pit of shades so cheap it’s almost free. And pit overcasted can easily wipe out multiple units of chosen.

Idk for me morathi is like a top ten candidate strongest LL, great magic+her melee line makes her fromidable in combat too. She also gets free regen and her items are some of th ebest in the game.
That video should be called «in multiplayer battles» and still appear to be questionable at least. While on campaign map its pointless to jugde them by only fighting abilities, aside from traits, startpos and unique items. For example Aranessa is on the roll with her Sartosians while other Vampirates are struggling early having zombies only. Or Thorgrim sitting on a gold mine.

The Armory building can make Fay Enchantress pretty tanky. Especially once you build lots of them, as the +2 armor for all armies stcks up pretty high.
At this point, I'm not sure CD is ever playing campaign or if he's exclusively doing the occasional MP battle. In MP, this list might make sense. In campaign, it just feels so off.
Ghorst is ridiculous in battle because his zombies just won't freaking die, and on top of that he's a very aggravating spellcaster, and on top of that he's a freaking mortis engine. If that's bad then what exactly is a good lord?
Morathi is ridiculously nimble on that mount, not very easy to focus fire away, and she's very unpleasant if she gets to selectively engage targets of opportunity. Sure, her damage looks low but some targets are soft. And meanwhile she's got WOM for days, solid auras, melkoths, pit of shades, and greater arcane conduit. She's pretty neat, all in all.
Fey Enchantress? When she's in melee, she's a permanent mortis engine with a -5 MA debuff on top, and unlike Ghorst she's also fast. And she casts regrowths, earth bloods, and dwellers below. She's frankly not bad at all.
Tretch, yeah, he's very mediocre in combat, as he should be. But he's very good at buffing Skaven infantry, ambushes, and not dying. It's perhaps not all one could ever want but it certainly isn't quite as useless as he's made out to be. Just very bland.
Zhatan, why am I even watching this? Zhatan is a tank. It's what he does and he does it very well. Zhatan tanks so the AI will get stuck in, and Zhatan's artillery then shoots at the ensuing blob. Rinse and repeat. The mistake lies in thinking that Zhatan is meant to deal significant damage. He's really not. He can do a fair bit later, but mainly he's just exceptionally good at being a punch-absorbing punching bag.
Markus and Alith Anar, sure, at face value they kind of suck. They're specialist unit buffing lords that focus on missile units. But they do that job very well and while the lords themselves aren't really all that scary, their armies can be quite potent. There's not a lot of large single entities that survive long if Markus puts a 22 second net on them and they're hosed by a bunch of huntsmen.
Thorgrim, sure, he's disappointing at this point.
Second place, Aranessa. Yeah. No argument there.
First place, Greasus. Eh. He's not as terrible anymore now that he can sort of keep up but he sure is underwhelming. But objectively he's not literally worse than Thorgrim or Aranessa, is he?
And that leaves the lords we're for some reason not mentioned. Volkmar, for instance. I mean, he can be made to work, but he's fairly bog standard human with meh stats, low damage output, questionable mount options, and the units he buffs are kind of rubbish.
How about Alberic Portmaster, in terms of being super generic? He buffs meh unit into still being meh, and he himself is arguably worse than a regular Bret lord as a pure fighter.
How about Khatep? Sure, he's a spellcaster, but he's a spellcaster whose mount option makes him super squishy and super static, and of course the hitbox is pretty large as well.
How about Karl himself, come to think of it? Is he really any good? No abilities to speak of, damage is questionable, stats are mediocre for a pure combat lord. He can fly and engage soft targets but he's not that tanky, he has to worry a lot about enemy missiles, and there's a lot of things out there that eat him for lunch.
And how about Arkhan the Black? How about Alarielle? She used to be proper 10 out of 10, but she's gotten nerfhammered repeatedly. She's not really anything special as a mage, her items don't do that much, she's not really a tank, she doesn't get amazing mount options, and literally her sole source of damage dealing are the rather overpriced banishment and arcane unforging spells. I would argue that most life spellcaster lords are dramatically superior at this point.

All 3 are absolute monsters in battle one way or another.
Zhartan wrecks stuff in campaign, perfect vigor, regen, scaling MA & Damage, debuffs including stripping magic attacks, and granting contact immunity.. Hes nuts.
Morathi murders stuff with pit of shades and soulstealer, and she debuffs the enemy around here so much that you can Blob rush with her and mow through most factions front lines.
You've included 3 lords who are A tier at least..

Tbh pirate factions are kind of weak but super fun to play, just grab your ship and terrorize the sea.
Ghorst is op for zombie buffing played a campain with him and he makes them and that very fast op zombies.
Karl Franz shouldve been on this list. He's marginally stronger than a Empire General and weaker than most of the lords on this list.
Deathclaw, Ghal Maraz and the possibility to become unbreakable makes him a very nasty fighter though.
in early game I would agree, but one he gets Deathclaw dude is actually a pretty awesome combatant.
No Kazhak one eye being here is hilarious. Dud is basicly a slightly better gor with poison and buffs to your worst units.
Many of these here have a niche, the lady has a lesser engine effect and has been the popular pick for multi-player for years. Salt shit, Marcus and zatan have nets allowing their gun factions to destroy some of the toughest counters you could have. One eye though doesn't even have an ability or magic item worth it.

Aranessa is pretty good actually... With her promothean mount she has 130 armor or so, and she can get a lot of melee defense, ward save (in my campaign she sits at 45% base + 20% for 15s with her ability) - she simply cannot die so I always end her first to kill the enemy lord 1 on 1 whilst my army fires at her position (she doesnt' care). She is also primarily anti large and has a lot of bonuses for that, so sending her against infantry is a terrible idea - however she absolutely destroys other lords on mounts / large creatures.
The biggest thing about her though is that she has access to the Sartosans humans (gun / melee) at level 1 that she can boosts to make them extremely resilient (making for a very easy early game), and the Maneater Ogres (gun / melee) at level 3 - at every port. And her capital city is one of the better ones...
Only think she really lacks is magic, so they should really add an early caster hero and she would be perfect.

I was super sceptical of this list when you started with some pretty good "battle" lords. But when you put Thorgrim up i knew you had no clue tf you talking about or what you intended to talk about. Thorgrim is at game start with base stat probably the tankiest lord around. no one as as much health, melee defense and armor as him.
When i look at your video im super confuse because you try to use casters (ghorst morathi and fey enchantress) as frontline fighter which is ???????????.
And then you take some of the strongest specialist (alith anar for range, thorgrim for tanking) and put them up as "bad"??? this makes no sense. and taking skill tree and items into accounts makes your picks even less logical at times. Im fanboying over thorgrim now but he gets 4 items which all buffs his armour/tankyness and melee defense into fucking low earth orbit, add to that skill tree. All in all i dont know if its just putting wrong picks to generate views and interactions (in that case hats off) or if you are genuinely bad/ignorant on some of those lords playstyle and use case

This list honestly seems like an attempt to boost engagement with controversial or downright wrong choices. Which it seems somewhat successful, this video does have more comments than the others at around the same view count.
Morathi is a strong contender for one of the top ten best LLs in battle. The only other explanation is if you haven't used her in battle past level 10 or so. She starts out a little weak like many spell casters, but once she has enough levels and her items she is one of the best one-woman/man army LLs in the game.

I thought Ghorst is busted with his zombie armies. But I know he was nerfed multiple times. Also I completely disagree about Zatan. He is one man army, one of the strongest melee flying units i saw in this game. In defense of minor settlement I placed him on choke point he held 3 armies of black orcs and fee other greenskins with bearly losing any HP.
I think this list is less about what the lord does for their army and more about how they themself fair in battle. Ghorst himself can't fight anything really. But his army effects are AWESOME.

So, what do we take away from this? Having no armor is bad, having just a bow and nothing else is bad, being big and nothing else is bad(Grom has a lot going for him), just being slightly better than a generic lord is bad.
Really a shame for how good lords like Mommy Morathi, High Elf Punisher Alith Anar, and Zhatan the Black the Black should be. Greasus and Trench kinda make sense, Greasus is a fat gut on a cart and Tretch is your average Skaven, so no surprises there.
Wizards are just lacking generally, I think. I like playing with the GLF Battle Mage which gives them a cool ranged weapon and add the yellow line so that my wizards are more fun and useful. Balance be damned! XD

why do you gotta pick on my favorite lord like that?? aranessa is excellent in battles. she's cheap enough to afford another depth guard or vamp fleet captain, avast ye is buffing the DPS on queen bess and a squad of carronades while the enemy is charging (or indefinitely should the enemy think they can outgun the vampirates), the spearfisher is able to lock the enemy's best troops right out in front of the gun line long enough to negate their combat effectiveness, and mannan's luck gives her the toughness to use her excellent melee damage to drop monsters or lords hacking down your zombies
I would agree with helman ghorst. I would have loved when he got his new position and so called mechanics, that they might give him some pestilential spells instead and make him a real debuff lord... Atm....
With morathi I must disagree. For me she is one of my favorite base game lords. Cool skill tree. Good items, that make her kind of untouchable even in a dual and super cheap soul stealer. The only thing she is missing would be an increase to her healing cap and if they some day make cataclysm spells castable she should get at least one 😊

Helman Ghorst, Morathi, and the fey enchatrass are some of the most powerful lords on the battlefield. Morathi being one of the most powerful caster in the entire game. Helman's sheer presence makes zombies in his army viable to late game. And Fey enchantress has a aoe damage effect on top of being the best lore of life caster in the whole game with is one of the best lore's of magic in the whole game. there are oodles of other bad lords in the game you put some of the most powerful lords on the worst lords list, especially Morathi she's easily in the top 5 casters in the whole game.
Bro the deamon prince is really bad too even when you power him up with khornes weapons and he has 1000 ws he still can't hit a lord to save his life
Idc thorgrim is flat out wrong😂, ive never had an issue with being hit with hit hot box, hell if that then put thorek on here as well, thorgrim is great in melee and is pretty tanky as well, later on buffing the hell out of armor and melee def making him even more hellish to face.

What? Morathi is a very strong combatant. But she is a flying assassin/ranged killer via cycle charging, not someone you just throw into a crowd of enemies and leave there. Yes, her spells are crap - get a fire sorc to do the casting (at least she can get one quickly). She starts weak, but once you get Sulephet + regen, she is very good.
Zhatan has built in regen, perfect vigour and ridiculous melee stats (but only on foot, his mounts suck). Also Chorfs do not have supply lines, so you don't really choose one lord instead of another. You just walk around with groups of 4. So there is no opportunity cost in having him on field. Still, the most boring Chorf LL.
I think even this undersells Morathi. I always get good impact out of Pit of Shades for Morathi. She can cast if for cheap and it does good damage. I think it is an underrated spell.
Thorgrim is one of the best one man army according to legend…
Sorry but i am very oppose your opion first ghorst and fay are both mortis engines and morathi is super strong with debuff and cheap spells and you use her maybe wrong? Because she is more like an assine in close combat (ok when she is high level with all items a one woman doomstack). And she has the best faction buffs for the dark elfs and makes the best armies for them.

I seriously don't get it how far off most of colonels lists are... Yes there is always room to argue and different opinions. But this is insane, the mortis effects on helman and fay are good and make them always get decent value in battles. Zhatan is boring, i get it, but he is a beast of a fighter. Same with Thorgrim, he is soooooo insanely tanky, when playing and playing him he is such a tank. Tretch yeah.... ok he gives ok buffs to his army but is still a shitty fighter. Aranessa is actually very weak and Greasus to slow to do shit. The others all have decenet Value and their niche, they might be weaker than other legendary lords i get it so yeah can argue about that. But having arguably one of the strongest and 4 pretty strong ones on a weakest lords list... ooof that is rough. Feels like raigebait and i fell for it.

I think this list is more referring to the battles than the map.
right so why is ghorst here? hes a turn one mortis engine who makes zombies into a tier 3 threat at the least. his only threats that are close is drazoath who can be dealing with imrik for far too long for you to care. zombies are good and he makes them stupid good

Id say he makes the tier 1 zombies tier 2. Which doesn't SOUND like a lot. But when you can get them @ tier 1 prices it really adds up.
I think if we're specifically talking multiplayer it makes sense to have him here. I think that's what the list is based off of.

I don't agree with Thorgrim on this list, he is big but he dishes out big damage and is tanky as hell, if he is supported by a block of any infantry he will wreck everythinga and even without a support I toss him ahead of y army to blob up enemies and he holds them good.

fae is everything but weak, her mortis effect is bonkers in the long run and her magic is very powerfull.
She is SO good that she doesnt have to be in meele, just standing there and killing the enemy army XD

Had to stop listening half way through lol. Morathi can solo armies by herself. Hybrid caster lords are some of the best lords and her having the ability to fly around, regen, and pick her engagement is amazing.
Zhatan? He is amazing as a melee lord. Level him up, give him his items, and he is a tough adversary. Way stronger than overseers.
Then you say overseers are the worst choice when they are the only good choice for lords. Overseers come with army wide buffs which casters don't really make use of. The best CD army set up is overseer for melee and army wide buffs paired with caster hero who can do everything the lord can.
