Thank you for sharing such a beautiful video. I used to live in Nizari Flats and this brought back memories which are unforgettable. Much has changed but the charm and charisma is still there.
Hi brother thanks so much for lovely clips If u can please indicate gandhi Street if u can there used to be afrimax old shops keep up a good work bless you
This video shows great progress by the Hindu community in Dar Es Salaam. Altaf comes to DSM often and knows every corner of this city. This shows the city is safe even in the evenings while you walk!
Yah Salim...u still see people walking around Kisutu/Odeon Roundabout/Jamhuri Street, etc area ..with lots of movement of people to/from temples, mosques and Jamat Khana plus of course the food joints
@@AltafDaya That's what I marked too. Men and women walking freely on streets, just like in Gujarat back in India where it is safe to 🚶 walk alone in evenings
Your videos are fascinating to me, Mr. Daya. My own distant relative From. Gaurang Mehta used to practice medicine in Dar Es Salam in 60s and 70s. Tanzania has a long history with Gujarat. Can you please give a house tour of a Gujarati home in your city please? That would be soo interesting. We used to visualize as kids how the homes of our relatives would be in Dar Es Salam!
Hi Thanks for your comment. I actually live in London. Was in Dar on holiday as my parents still live there. Planning to go again in a couple of months. Will definitely try to do that.
Anyone who has responses to following queries on Dar-es-salaam? Please fill in - thanks for any info provided!! Are SIM cards - for iPhones/smartphones - available at Daressalaam Airport? Is local Tanzanian currency available at the Daresalaam Airport?r Do Banks in Dar-es-salaam have ATMs inside branch? TripAdvisor/Expedia are showing hotel prices $50/night upwards - does anyone know of any local sites showing hotels/motels in the $5/$20 range/nightt? Prefer to pay 4 lodging upfront thru their website-can lookup reviews.
Sim Cards, Local Currency available at airport. ATM are mostly outside but a few branches do have inside. However, the ATMs connected to the bank branches have security so it should be OK. It is not advisable to book accom for $5-$20 as these might not be too safe or in a good location. Most such accoms won't even have websites or card payment options. Stick to reputable sites if you want to pay in advance. Maybe book for a few days and then when you are in Dar, you can physically check out alternate options
