Yes, I still want to look cute!! I'm 70, on the frugal side and thank God, no longer much interested in shopping unless I truly need something, and I'm up and out early with a plan. Otherwise, I get dressed for my almost daily walk here in Ohio, rain or shine. If it's horrible outside, I get out one of my exercise DVDs and jump around the living room. I don't leave my place after dark, lol. My nice old school PJs and robe come off early. No lounging for this old gal until maybe midafternoons. I'm truly a homebody at heart and was never much of a social butterfly, married or unmarried. My style has pretty much been on the casual side for most of my life (including my 38 years as a medical transcribe). I loved my work and miss it but also love being retired now. I've learned to concentrate on wearing colors I know I look good in and have gotten rid of those colors that make me look tired. I've found well-made clothing in thrift stores and have hung on to the best of those over the years. I enjoy putting on a bit of makeup, lipstick and a cute pair of earrings daily, whether I leave my place or not. I've cut my own hair for years and keep it on the shorter side. I'm in my kitchen and pantry a lot, cooking for myself, and I have several cute aprons I alternate. I never wear white, lol. My goal at this stage of the game is to keep moving till I croak, lol.
I’m also retired. Even though I dress casually, my wardrobe has changed now that I am not working and I can now dress however I want. I also use aprons a lot. As a twenty year old, an apron was a symbol of patriarchy, but at 64, they save my clothes from spills and stains so I don’t have to change outfits each time I do a craft, garden, or cook.
@@kristymarie6065 I guess the job still exists, but for years, it was working in the medical records department of a hospital. We were paid pretty well back in the day and simply typed reports the doctors dictated, like surgical, pathology, histories, etc. They employed at least 10 of us back then. I truly wish I'd gone into court stenography years ago; that was actually taught in some high schools way back in the day. Technology has advanced to where they probably don't need many of us these days. My last long- distance job got phased out about 10 years ago; they let 50 of us go. I took care of my mom for two years and then retired.
I don't own sweatpants, I have some leggings, mostly for walking, I tried running, but fractured my tibia 😳 so I'm still in the recovery phase, but will start walking again in February and I can start running again in march/ April.
I try to put on something I haven't worn in awhile. Then I do a marathon of changes. Lol Right now I'm in Mexico for the winter, so I have a one checked bag wardrobe. I'll leave some things now that we are living here part time. Mine is heavy on Christmas and New Years outfits. I wore my red velvet off the shoulder top yesterday. I brought a sequin tube top with silk blouse and leather pants for NYEve. You so inspire me to have fun with clothes and my life!
I've been low-key blown away by you and your work since I discovered you, and this video has cemented a feeling of meeting a kindred spirit/validating my own approach/philosophy. I love my home/casual wear to be pleasing to my eye, sensual and comfortable. You're a delight, thank you x
I thrift J Jill dresses to sleep in. If I need to walk the dog or take out the garbage I am actually dressed. I have a grey American Eagle dress that wore out to a fancy dinner and it’s been a nightgown for years.
Special clothes for relaxing in at home is something I had never thought about. Old favourite ratty pieces (eg raglan sweater, with various holes, still beloved ) are the home stuff. Bright coloured Converse sneakers are my slipper comfy shoes. Thanks for the tips, Diana
Agree about buying a couple sizes up to feel comfortable. In my twenties and thirties, it was all about emphasizing the hour glass shape. Now, it’s about having fun and wearing what makes me happy. Even if it’s against the fashion rules, even if at 5’0, it makes me look even shorter. Thrifted a cardigan with strawberries on it two sizes up from what I would normally wear. LOVE how it drapes! Paired it with a pretty tank top under it and delicate necklace. It delighted me so much, made me think of you! Now for that dinosaur cardigan I found 😂. Thanks, Diana! PS: so cool you teach piano!
Hello from France. I validate this video 100 percent. This is my mission this year: get better lounge wear and pj's! Any tips? And you've inspired me to look at my skin care and make up. I've decided after years of daily full face to switch to caring for my skin rather than covering it up. My skin has truly benefitted from the extra TLC. I don't know if Embryolisse is available in the States but it's been great for me. Remember the eyeshadow that gives you the cute, smiley eyes? I found the all purpose balm in rose nude from Embryolisse does the trick! I swear I don't work for them! Loving your videos!
Hello from Los Angeles! There are so many great loungewear companies these days. I'm not sure what's available in France but lately I've become a huge fan of luxurious staples from Quince quince.sjv.io/xLE2Jd
Seriously... I'm probably repeating what everyone here's said here before (sorry I have a headache and can't read the comments now) but you are always SERIOUSLY cute and amazing looking! I think you found exactly what "style" and "taste" is about (you must be a great cook too haha) and you just "know" AND you always find the way to impart what you've found in your videos. That French Girl style, you definitely incarnate it. If I saw you in France, I'd think you're one of us! Oh and I also just l.o.v.e. how you teach people to go small (in terms of #of items you own) as long as you're getting qua-li-ty! Again, same with food! You cannot be healthy, even if you both gym and run 10K every day IF you don't put the RIGHT food in your body, actual f.o.o.d. There's absolutely no way that in the medium-long term you can feel good. So yeah, buying clothes that speak to you and that are made of real/natural material such as silk, cotton, wool, leather and so one, that aren't blended with fake materials definitely contributes to making you feel and exhale awesome. It makes you embody a sunshiny day! Suffice it to say, I love your content so keep up the amazing work! Also, happy new year xo
Grateful for this helpful message that really got through to me. I mean, I feel it helps me decide, take action, feel confident in my decisions and actions. TYSM!!!
One of the things that used to make it hard for me to delight myself at home, clothing-wise, was a lack of QUICK outfit choices. I didn't want to THINK about what to wear, I just wanted to grab something. What I needed to do is find my new MO that could become autopilot. So, these days, that looks like a pair of jeans (I have four pairs that I like, that are comfy - so even if I haven't done the laundry, I'll have at least one pair available) with a shirt or sweater in colors and cuts that suit me (because I've already done my homework there). Grab a pair of slip-ons or sneakers, and I'm good to go. I'm so used to this by now, I don't have to think about it. I just grab and go. If I had to think or decide, I definitely wouldn't be able to keep it up. At the very least, I look put together. If I have time and decision making power, I can add fancier jewelry, scarves, jackets, etc. Another thing that I'm currently struggling with is doing minimal makeup and hair every day, even when I'm home alone. Even if I wear a nice outfit, if my hair and makeup aren't done, I can look messy. So, again, autopilot looks like brushed hair in a ponytail or bun, with eyebrows, blush, mascara, and lip gloss. I just need to be better at making myself do that.
Uhhh! You're soo right! I know you are ... . But I have gone so very deep into blah, I think I cannot get out of it anymore ... . Not least because I have put on weight. I only realise this when looking into the mirror, so I avoid doing that when possible. But its a real joy looking at you and your style! In your case I' m not even bothered that a non-French person is showing me how to dress French ... .I really like your ways❤.
I am 69 and retired. I stay home most of the time and I still wear very nice but casual clothes. I have beautiful sweaters that I wear right now in the winter with soft joggers and boots. I do a lot of monochrome. I did burgundy today with a long sleeve cream t shirt top under my burgundy sweater , with burgundy joggers and cream colored boots. I was very comfortable. I bought two of those V-neck sweaters from Quince one in black and one in light gray I wear them all the time.
I have a square necked top and wide leg pants that look like your outfit at 4:30 but never thought of wearing them at home. Great idea. Now that hubby and I are retired, and home A LOT, it wouldn’t hurt for me to make a tiny bit more of an effort😂 it will also mean I won’t feel a schlepp when going out for milk and eggs.

I ordered the yoga pants from Target after I saw your Short, just picked them up today and then I see them again in this video. Not sure what shoes to wear with them (they are my first pair of wide leg pants) but I do like them. Thank you!
I agree with all you said, except wearing a bra at home. I need to be comfortable as well as put together when I'm at home. I purchased three of your scarves (Edie, Sasha and Ani). All three scarves are lovely. I live in Ontario, Canada, so I had to pay a lot for shipping - still worth it. I am almost as crazy about silk scarves as you are🤭. I even wear them at home😊.

Hello Diana, oh thank you for this segment.May I ask or beg you to show us what to wear for the passport photo and how to make up? Recently the photographer sent me away as I was wearing the bleu shirt....since than I am confused and afraid to go back. Greetings from Toronto ! You are so good in what you are doing I am watching film after film.
@@unblahyourself Oh, Diana, Thank you for the kind words; yes there are restriction in Canada; clothing must be dark and not light. I see you are the master of good fashion taste and elegance so your advice would help to look grand on the passport image with a good make up. Greetings from Toronto! Thank you again for taking some time to think about it. Bye ! Love your hair do .
I bought several affordable cashmere sweaters in neutral shades and wear them around the house like t-shirts during the winter. If I have to go out, I add a scarf or a cool necklace, throw on a jacket and I'm ready! I only go out if I think I look cute. Isn't that part of the French girl code of honor ... never leave the house without a bit of pink on the lips and cheeks?
@@unblahyourself Yes omg... I tried on the sweater and it was to die for. Not so much a tank, shaped weird for me, but that's okay. :) I may be a new fan of Quince! Also got the Target baggy black pants you shared. It's like negative degrees out and they're thin so I'm excited to wear them in the future.

I find it almost impossible to find SILK, I mean REAL SILK (nor silk that's blended with something else). Even Nordstroms doesn't have it. I've ordered one of your scarves, so I know that will be silk...but where oh where can I find a simple white (or off white) classic shirt (with buttons) in a small size. I am 5'2", and a LOT of clothes just don't look right on me. Very wide leg pants for example, although perhaps a nice flowy fabric would work. You are always fun and inspiring, Diana. I've got to watch more of your scarf videos, since I never know how to tie them min a unique way. Thanks for your faithful video-ing. Happy 2025!
the Lily Silk shirts are nice and well made, they have white button downs. I have the striped one and it's holding up well. They do 20% off sales fairly regularly.
@ritzie3131 Have you checked out the Quince website? They have gorgeous luxurious items like silk tanks, blouses , cashmere sweaters and tanks! quince.sjv.io/xLE2Jd
Bra? I have a thing called costochondritis. It’s inflammation throughout the rib cage. Ouch…☹️☹️. I do have a few, but rarely wear one. I have “Spanx” type camis. They’re not beautiful like a lacy bra but they don’t literally hurt me.
I love the little bra peek but can never get it to peek with what I wear 🤷♀️ My friend always has a peek showing and I’ve read that’s because she wears a bra that’s too big 🤷♀️
No one can make me wear a bra at home.I hate bras.they make me unhappy.I.usually am fixing cleaning or creating at home so I wear anything soft and comfy and ripped and stained.I love ripped clothes.iI love your ideas .I'm just a contrarian and can't resist arguing
I bought a quarter zip cashmere on clearance at Marshall’s….it has a huge hole in it. I have two kilt pins that I accentuate the hole….not closing it up but every now and then a little cold shiver on my abdomen. I do the same with bulky sweaters instead of side half tuck. Was inspired by a runway Chanel look years ago.
You remind me that I have no nice underwear anymore - what the hell happened to me? I really need to blah myself …..again. It can creep up on a woman can’t it?
I do love your channel and your lovely, upbeat personality - but in this video, I can't get on board with some of your advice. You have a great body, but extol the virtues of baggy clothes, which needlessly hide it. Also, when we are at home, we often have to move around quite a bit in the course of doing our chores. I would not want to wear baggy clothes when I'm near my stove or sink, or have to get inside my pantry, or need to bend over to clean/organize in some other places, or work on some other projects. Wide pants are tricky. They can look OK, but generally need to be balanced with a tighter top. (The same balancing principle applies to leggings - since they are tight, they look better with looser tops.) Looseness both on the top and the bottom is not attractive. Young girls can get away with it, but mature and older women absolutely can't (unless they're overweight and have no choice).
My winter pj’s are my creation of comfort: stretchy pants and cute long sleeve comfy top that sometimes I wear during day then add bra, cute shoes, earrings, colored lip balm, comb hair and I am ready for my day.
I so appreciate how you make pleasing yourself a natural thing -with no guilt!! Yay 2025 changes

Yes, yes, yes, yes aaaand YES. Now thankyou. I must admit love your message it has a William Morris attitude "surround yourself with that which brings you joy and nothing which does not serve this or it's purpose" miss quoted probs but you'll get it x
😘❤️❤️❤️
Lmao the murky bra is so relatable 😭
I am glad I watched this
Going through midlife crisis 😂 and menopause symptoms. It doesn’t always feel like treating yourself with lingere in these symptoms Even if I want to dress up at home. I was just giving up.but will look out for light lingere which feels like feather in these symptoms 😂
Love your blah & lovely way of making vlogs
Will try out something, feeling motivated
Thank you hun xx
Merry Christmas & HAPPY New Year
God bless
@sunshinemoon634 I'm also premenopausal so we'll be talking a lot about that!
Stupid question, but do I have to struggle through the neckline to get in and out of the jumpsuit? I’m also thinking about the bathroom!!❤❤❤
I've always wondered that about jumpsuits
@lauralonghelbig it's a big wide neck so no struggle!
@ I keep looking at them, but I think I’ll wait. I lost 90 pounds in the past ten months. I’m hoping I can shrink off a few more
I ordered the yoga pants from Target after I saw your Short, just picked them up today and then I see them again in this video. Not sure what shoes to wear with them (they are my first pair of wide leg pants) but I do like them. Thank you!
@shirleymarshYB I hope you love them too! What a great idea to do a video on what shoes to wear with wide leg pants. I think I need to do that!
@@unblahyourselfthat would be great
I agree with all you said, except wearing a bra at home.
@knowthyself1729 Yay I'm so glad to hear that!
Sorry, where is the jumpsuit from?? I'm intrigued! And delighted. This video was delightful; thank you. 😄
Hi! It's from Pop Flex. You can find it here in my list of favorite things: th-cam.com/users/shopcollectionSCUCTKAFWg5mBwoD5PAbQgMawt07a98XfOuzA?si=uCsEP0FB3gTucfcL
I'm glad you're delighted!!
@LeRoi715 I didn't know there were clothing restrictions for passport photos so maybe I'm not the best person to do that video!😆
Always super cute ! Happy Christmas!
Love your channel!! Do you have a link for the wide leg pants with the pockets on the front?
Hi Ellen! I think they are the Essential Punto Pockets Pants and you can get $50 off with this link! rwrd.io/xmhz1wu?p
You are amazing and absolutely must be reading my mind❤️you😘
I bought several affordable cashmere sweaters in neutral shades and wear them around the house like t-shirts during the winter. If I have to go out, I add a scarf or a cool necklace, throw on a jacket and I'm ready! I only go out if I think I look cute. Isn't that part of the French girl code of honor ... never leave the house without a bit of pink on the lips and cheeks?
That sounds like a great system to me!
Can you share what the affordable cashmere is?
@cmac6992 My favorite is Quince! They have a fifty dollar cashmere sweater that's just beautiful. Check it out here quince.sjv.io/xLE2Jd
I am one of those Christmas scarf owners!! :) Also got a few Quince items thanks to you just now.
@ElizabethDohertyThomas I love everything I've gotten from Quince and I've gotten a LOT!
Thank you so much for the tip about cashmere at Quince.
I’m new to your channel but I really enjoy your videos! ❤️
Please may I know the brand of that giant sweater that lets the pajama top peek out on the sides? That was a REALLY neat style!!
Love it!
Love the jumpsuit!! Where is it from? Im having trouble with the link. Thank you!!
Hi! It's the go with the flow jumpsuit from pop flex. You can find it here in my list of favorite things: th-cam.com/users/shopcollectionSCUCTKAFWg5mBwoD5PAbQgMawt07a98XfOuzA?si=GddZSCyIw44rrNCM
Merry Christmas. Another delightful video 👍
Delightful
Beautiful - link for the oversized turtleneck?
Happy 2025!
I have the same problem . Can't find a silk shirt or scarf or anything silk.
the Lily Silk shirts are nice and well made, they have white button downs.
Those sneakers are white? Where is the leopard print?
The Adidas stripes are leopard print
"I am you. You are me. We are that." lol, yes. sigh... we are.
At home? Unbra yourself. Loose everything. Wear socks to feel cuddled. Frequent short showers to always feel fresh.
Link for the oversize turtle neck?
Yes please!! And the silk tank, if you can. 😁
Link for the orange red coat?
I believe the string across the back of the tank is only for hanging it in store
Your at home look says "I have a headache" to your partner louder than words. Comfy, cuddly to you, but not so curvy and cuddly looking to your mate.
Looking at getting LED mask. Do you use the Qure neck and chest too? My only drawback is I don't like that an app is involved. Thoughts?
I don't use the app. I just press the button. It's very simple! I am also considering the neck mask!
@@unblahyourselfVery good to know! Thank you!
❤❤❤
Thank you for making these videos. You inspired me to buy pretty new bras and panties. Just for me😍
Bra? I have a thing called costochondritis. It’s inflammation throughout the rib cage. Ouch…☹️☹️. I do have a few, but rarely wear one. I have “Spanx” type camis. They’re not beautiful like a lacy bra but they don’t literally hurt me.
Thank you for the takeaway: If you are cute at home, it's easier to get out of the house.
But, I wash the dishes, water my garden, scrub the floor 😢😂
You need a fancy French maid apron….
I love the little bra peek but can never get it to peek with what I wear 🤷♀️ My friend always has a peek showing and I’ve read that’s because she wears a bra that’s too big 🤷♀️
The murky bra unveiled- I will replace them for 2025- thank you so much ❤️
I treat myself nicely by wearing a sleep bra when at home.
@@marylhere 😃 love this!
Can't tolerate bras at home anymore at 74.
You make a cheese channel, I'd watch it. 😂✌️
I can tell you keep your thermostat above 66 degrees. I don't want to even take my coat off at night.🥶
Oh I actually live in Los Angeles and that could explain my choices! 😄
Wearing a bra, at home with no one else there??? Why??? Thanks for a good video.
You remind me that I have no nice underwear anymore - what the hell happened to me?
I really need to blah myself …..again. It can creep up on a woman can’t it?
Unblah - autocorrect 😤
If I were young... not if I was.
Please play piano Diana:)
You wear a bra at home? Even when nobodys coming over? 😮
