Really appreciate the videos. 🤙🏼 Hey, so I had a question about plumbing. I recently got a job offer to be a plumbers helper at a small company making 16 per hour down here in Florida. They also said I was guaranteed 30 to 40 hours a week. But I didn’t take it up because I might be moving to a different part of Florida soon, so I’m kind of bummed out. Is it hard to find opportunities like this? Is this the correct way to go about becoming a plumber or do I have to get some type of apprenticeship card etc? I go to school for IT but ideally wanted something else I could do as well just so I can be multifaceted. And hopefully, find a solid job back in my home state of California.
It’s hard to to say since I’m in Cali and don’t know Florida, but typically plumbing companies are always hiring. As for where to start. If you plan on being a plumber for 4 years or more than I suggest talking to union and non union reps. I say this because you can get your journeyman card and also make a lot more money along with training. This will also make it easier finding plumbing opportunities. And who knows maybe start your own company one day. I know a lot of people now who are wishing they went the school route instead of just signing with a company and years letter missing opportunities to make big money because of lack of training or no journeyman card. If plumbing is something you really want to do. This would be my suggestion Best of luck to you 💯
