In an ideal world, this video would not have to be made because all employers would be honest with any newbie coming into the trade so that they can make an informed decision and plan as to their future accordingly. But we do not live in a sinless world, so I appreciate you looking out for anyone new trying to enter into a plumbing career so that they do not waste 4 or 5 years in which they could have been accumulating hours and experience towards their licensing as a plumber in their respective state because their employer withheld information from them for their own gain to pay them the least amount that they can. Honesty, integrity, charity, Viva Cristo Rey.
Absolutely! But Not all employers are this way, ultimately it is our responsibility to get the info we need but, how do you know what you don’t know? and that’s where this video is most helpful. Thank you for your comment and if you an up-and-coming plumber, best of luck to you in your endeavors 💯
I work for a plumbing company and yes i have learned some parts and helped out with water heaters and toilets, but the learning is shit. You have to learn everything on your own and the management don't care if you are actually learning or not. I have to school myself through TH-cam videos and riding out to learn stuff and going through parts. I have 7 months as an apprentice, but my suggestion is that if you are smart go to the Union. They will teach you the street way and the book way.
I'm going to a 3 month plumbing trade school to receive a certificate. I haven't stepped foot in the working field yet. I'm not trying to get taken advantage of that's why I'm surfing around for as much good advice as possible. After I graduate, there's an apprenticeship program I'm considering. The schooling is only for 4 years and I will be working my way to journeyman’s. My question is, should I work for a service company like Ghetto/or Sierra to get my journeyman’s or would it be best to do a 4 year apprenticeship program? 😂 And I don't know if I'll be able to see through walls if I go the residential route.. I wouldn't be sure how pipes are laid out behind the walls
@@elijahnwamuo8797 thanks for your response, as far as your question I don’t know anything about ghetto/sierra. But If you get a chance hit me on the link in my description I’ll be happy to assist you anyway I can 💯 💯
