Ian McDiarmid is an absolute treasure to the entire lineup of all the Star Wars movies. His ability to weave a character to be so iconic and remembered will go down in the history of great acting.
Ian mcdiarmid is not only a national treasure, not only a star wars legend, not only my favourite villain character of all time but also an amazing human being! Long live our Emperor! DO IT!
An absolute fantastic personality... May God bless you Ian... I saw the original star wars film at the Odeon in Manchester aged 7.... Love from Manchester
I wasn't really a fan of that last movie but it was in no way due to Ian McDiarmid. That guy is amazing. His performances as the Emperor and the Chancellor are all incredible.
Ah, it is such a pleasure to hear McDiarmid's thoughts about the Emperor and his experiences of playing him. I am surprised that the opera scene in Revenge of the Sith was not originally going to happen there but in the chancellor's office instead. It is especially surprising because that scene happens in the theatre in the movie's novel version as well - and that version is based on Lucas's original script (according to which it was supposed to happen in the office). Still, I am glad that that last minute change ended up in the novelization, too.
Great panel at SW Celebration! Does anyone know Chris from London who asked about celebrating the Queen's Jubilee and Emperor's 40th year in power? We met during the convention. I just watched the Ian McDiarmid video and his question was pretty cool!
George Lucas made the best and wise decision to cast Ian McDermid as Palpatine/Darth Sidious, Ian was born for that role. Palpatine looks so deformed, pale in appearance and has the yellow eyes as he was deeply using and corrupted by the dark side.
To the question about us seeing the emperor again In the kenobi series, Ian did say we wouldn't see him in flesh and blood. But that doesn't mean we won't see them in a hologram
Keep in mind what Ian can do now is very limited cause of age plus with Rian Johnson killing off the main villain they really had no time to create a new villain, so use the easy route and still something from the EU
definitely the emperor let mace think he won , was all a big act to make anakin see the jedi were indeed taking over as once the arm was cut off he went full on electric power lol

I am wondering who will be invited to the 10th aniversary of the force awakens. For my money they should forget about 7, 8 & 9. BTW I really love 1 thru 6. Those are George Lucas vision and ideas. The other trilogy are just rehash
Oh please. Always that one whiny brat that has to complain about something. You have big fans like what they had in Revenge of the Sith dust will be stirred up.
We are so lucky to have had Ian McDiarmid for the entire run.
yes we are
bringing him back cheapened his reign
10000% , such a special , different soul
Some people may not realize that he was dubbed into the earlier Star Wars movies - a woman played the original Emperor....
And so lucky to have an empowered female introduce him.

there can never be and will never ever be a better actor to play the empeorer .. the guy is a LEGEND !
It's true - the best, most genuine people can play the worst villains. What a wonderful gentleman!
One of the great actors of all time, the ultimate villain spanning generations👏🏻
"I'm cutting back on electricity. Things can get pretty expensive when you have... Unlimited power."
I did not click on this video expecting to laugh so much, but he's hilarious! He could definitely do a Star Wars stand-up comedy tour! 😂

Ian is a wonderful actor. He stole the show in ROTS.
He is the most lovable, evil guy ever!

The legend himself.

SPOILER ALERT! You goddamn right, we will!
@@maximprikhodko8204 hahaha CALLED IT.
A great person and actor indeed!!
The only good part of Rise Of Skywalker. Seeing Ian McDiarmid as Palpatine again even if it was utterly wasted.
Keep in mind what Ian can do now is very limited cause of age plus with Rian Johnson killing off the main villain they really had no time to create a new villain, so use the easy route and still something from the EU
Unlimited Power!!
Roll it again.
Although it made no sense for his character to come back, it was a treasure to see Ian act more.
Vader was my favorite growing up but as I got older somehow palpatine stole his spot .
I can relate to him more as I get older too...
Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy. Execute order 66. Then it is treason then. Rise up Lord Vader.
I was asked if this was a good interview......... I said good??????? ITS INSANEEEEEEEEEE

I wish I could've gone, but oh well

There will be that one person who appears well. The only person appearing would be kk
@Lialexen You can love Star Wars and still be critical.
POOOOWWWWWEEEEERRRRRRR!
You forgot ‘unlimited’
!!!!!!!!!!!! MONEY, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!!
Well we all got to see that 17:05 cost him his hand.
Amazing actor, a pop culture legend, shame about the crap presenter. Where's Warwick Davis when you need him?
Loved the character & the actor was fantastic. The real life person whining about dust & fans though. What a damn pansy.
Try to act with dust in your throat.
