I love listening to Steve - so modest, intelligent, and articulate. I recall when he first go into commentating - so shy, insecure and occasionally stumbling. How magnificently he has come on.
One of the greatest runners to never win an Olympic gold medal. The closest he got was in that classic 1500 meter race in 1984 that Coe won. However, he was the first man to win the 1500 at the World Championships.
Cram was a brilliant athlete who could destroy a top quality field of runners from any position. His form was incredible in 1985 and had that been an Olympic year god help the rest of them.
Steve Cram, Steve Ovett, Seb Coe The 3 Brit Blockade of kickass milers of the 80s. Let's bring them all together with Steve Scott, Jim Spivey, Sydney Maree, Johnny Walker, Eammon Coughlin, Craig Masback...you guys are all the best..true legends Not to run a race, but to hang out together for a weekend of interviews, laughs and fun!! This is my idea. All the legends Let's do it before we're all gone One last get together..one last hurrah!! Please😇 I'll pay big money just to be there Meet at the Crystal Palace, or the LA Coliseum or... I'm hoping you'll all show up! No time and date set yet All things are possible Love to you all🕊️
was seb coe the only man to beat Steve cram the year he broke 3 world record ,then he got some injuries, and on his come back faced cram in Oslo Norway. dream mile which he made it 1-1 that season.
Darren---Don't get me wrong I loved both Coe & Ovett-----untill Coe opened his arrogant big mouth-especially now w his Lordship& presidency of WADA---he's demonstrated himself to be a real arse. I can no longer stand him---he should have stayed a runner( like Gebrsellasie) instead of flexing his bureaucratic muscles.Pass.
Daniel Komen trumps all these Brits---his 7:20:67. 3000 still after 22 years--no Mocelli-Ouita-Coe-Khah-Geb-Bekele -El Guerroj, Farah et al has remotely come close. He also broke 8:00's twice for 2 mile--7:55 for 3200--3:45 mile & 12:39 5000. His stats crush all before or after him.
Ted Allison Komen must enjoy looking at his Olympic gold medals, oh wait. He does not have any. Here endeth my discussion with you. Enjoy the rest of your day👍🏻🍺👍🏻🍺
@@darrenshaw767 -well by that standard Henry Rono was even better w 4 simultaneous WR's---BUT---his 5K WR is the 1/2 way split for Bekele's 10K ---use your math skills......

Crammy was an astonishing athlete. Hugely talented, great to watch and a very intelligent guy too. Up there with the very best of all time.
Cram was pure talent and a clean 3.46 mile world record holder
Backinto Balance I agree in my opinion Cram is the last clean mile record holder
Multiple titles. European commonwealth, world champion and Olympic silver and 3.46 for the mile and a 1.42.8 800m. Amazing runner

Hero of mine.
I grew up watching ovett as a kid to want to be a top middle distance runner. The crammy came along and raised the bar. Fantastic athlete to watch
Legend indeed!!
Crammy: Great, great-- and intelligent -- racer. A superb commentator.
One of the great 1500m 🏃

Aye the North east produced cracking distance runners Cram and Brendan Foster come to mind.
ovetts biggest fan here......but theres a fair argument for cram being better

Ovett actually beat him in The Westminster Mile… 1985…
El unico que pudo plantarle cara a Said Aouita, cuando ambos estaban en plenitud.

Ted Allison But did Komen hold the 800,1500m and mile records all at the same time? No. Seb Coe is the only man in history to have done this.

Yeah 22nd on the All time List---there's @ least 21 who are realistically( not opinion) better. The end.
